Should we be looking for a younger manager with a more modern approach to the game and who would have a greater synergy and understanding with the players.
Someone like Frank Lampard or Xavi?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Oct 2025 17:43:27
Not sure why Xavi or Lampard would even be interested to be honest?!

21 Oct 2025 18:21:19
I agree Oxley, a young technical manager along the lines of Danny Rohl or Fabian Hurzeler.
I've no idea who, but I bet Brighton do and Fosun don't!

21 Oct 2025 19:59:24
I do think the club needs a 'name' someone who can get the players and the fans juices flowing again, but this is when we find out if the penny has really dropped with Fosun and money made available. I don't mean the Clubs money I mean theirs, just for a change.

Zinedine Zidane
Xavi Hernandez
Thiago Motta

All available as of a month ago. Get this wrong and we really are done for.

22 Oct 2025 06:32:01
Sadly Long, not sure our reputation in terms of Club management would attract any "name".
Personally, if my decision, I would have gone for Dyche.
I do not expect Forest to be relegated now, but us?.

22 Oct 2025 08:58:53
It's a valid point Rugeley, who would take the job without a top salary and money to spend in January, none of which of course is likely.

I can't get my head around this, 3-4 years on the trot now, it's bizarre what they've done. I wonder if Fosun have sucked what money they can out of the club then will cut their losses and sell the club off cheaply just to get out, relegated or not.

22 Oct 2025 09:43:17
Dyche is not for me, but I am surprised Fosun/Shi didn't target him. I suspect he'll steady the ship and keep Forest up, but that'll be the full extent of it. PL survival. That would surely suit Fosun, but not sure it'll satisfy Forest's owner who is far more ambitious than ours.

22 Oct 2025 12:26:48
Whatever happens after Burnley will be telling for our future longmynd. If we lose and Fosun replace VP with a 'big' name then maybe they're sticking around. Stick with VP and they're dallying along.
A win isn't confirmation of VPs ability tactically, the last 11/12 games have been. So I'd hope that if they care about the club Fosun will have been working on a suitable replacement and committed funds for Jan and onwards.
I can only dream, they cost nothing!

22 Oct 2025 14:03:07
All I know Abbey is that we need different decision makers at this club, as the current lot have been failing miserably for some years now. Maybe even someone that loves, understands and cares about football or have I just gate crashed one of your dreams.

21 Oct 2025 16:18:42
Big Ange and Coady! The dream team? FWAW .

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Oct 2025 17:46:19
I really don't understand what it is that Ange has done to even get people suggesting him?! Spurs finished below us (with a team worth 3-5 times as much) and Forest never looked like winning so genuinely asking why people think he's the answer?

21 Oct 2025 18:43:59
Yes, his record at Spurs last season was poor in the league but the season before, he did well until injuries decimated the squad. I can't judge him on his Forest spell because 39 days isn't enough time to implement his ideas.

He is not the man for Wolves but he would be better than VP as Ange actually set his teams up on the front foot.

21 Oct 2025 20:18:37
Sounds like a worst nightmare ( Deano apart), Preston.

21 Oct 2025 13:29:34
Question if VP gets sacked who's the next manager personally 🤔 haven't got a clue.

One of the sites:-
According to the latest figures, here are the current speculative prices:

Ole Gunnar Solskjær – 5/1
Gareth Southgate – 8/1
Kevin Muscat – 10/1
Sérgio Conceição – 11/1
Brendan Rodgers – 12/1
Danny Röhl – 12/1
Erik ten Hag – 12/1
Roger Schmidt – 12/1
Marco Silva – 14/1
Roberto Mancini - 14/1
Jesse Marsch – 16/1
Julen Lopetegui 16/1

21 Oct 2025 14:36:25
Id like Roberto Martinez DMac but can't see it happening

21 Oct 2025 15:05:39
I’d prefer Brendan Rogers but, let’s face it (and we’ve all said it or thought it), who’s going to want to come to a club with no support from above?

First the defeats, then the drop 😔

21 Oct 2025 15:57:16
Les B Wolf Wolves have got some decent players just need somebody to get the best out of them who don't know.

21 Oct 2025 16:27:00
Can't see any manager worth his salt would take the job on. Virtually nothing to work with on the playing side and no team spirit. This apathy runs right through the club, just look at results from the academy to the Under 21s. Perhaps the coaching is not up to scratch, I like Vp as a person but leaves a lot to be desired on the pitch. No other club would stand for the results we have suffered since earlier this year. And no sign of change.

21 Oct 2025 16:40:17
Out of interest. If we take 3 points against Burnley and Fulham, which frankly is essential, and narrow losses against Chelsea in cup and league, would people have any more faith that the management team can do the job?

21 Oct 2025 16:41:50
Give ole the job
Doubt we could get anyone else

21 Oct 2025 17:51:37
That's a difficult one molineuxway, 6 points+ would get the confidence up, we'd maybe start believing, but wether VP could maintain the ride is questionable. We had the 6 wins but look what has happened since.
No I think Burnley is the litmus test for him a loss and he should go, a win is only a stay of execution, and every game after until he's proven.
Things are such a mess maybe it'd be better to have the clean break and restart.
Of course we're back to wondering who'd take our poison challace and being beware of the devil we know.

21 Oct 2025 17:55:41
Got to say that a result against Burnley whist probable is not the turning point. The performance is everything.
We have not only lot all league games but the style of football is very boring and let’s face it very poor.
If VP can’t turn it around in the next couple of games then it tie to pull the plug.
Who next I hear you cry. Well personally I would go for Muscat or Marco Silva.

21 Oct 2025 18:52:24
Again though Marco Silva is running his contract down in anticipation for a move to a bigger club. Do we honestly think we are currently a more appealing option than Fulham?! Sorry but I just can't see it, think our only applicants will be from outside the league (Champ or abroad).

21 Oct 2025 20:46:30
It will be BullysBoy. This confirms exactly how much of a laughing stock Jeff has turned the club into.

22 Oct 2025 07:45:49
Really shows what a desperate situation we are in when a result against Burnley is so important and not guaranteed!

I believe that we have a squad of talented players but a coaching team who have managed to extinguish any semblance of confidence and willingness to play for the club. Wholesale change in the way the club is run is required before we can expect any progress.

21 Oct 2025 13:17:43
OK
We aont going to win the league and playing baggies next season.
I sm only going I what I have been told miracles can happen

21 Oct 2025 12:22:19
Who is this a joke?

21 Oct 2025 12:23:51
Fosun have probably told Jeff to be more Savvy with his transfer dealings, he misunderstood.

21 Oct 2025 12:31:37
If there's any legs in this Filipo Savi, italian ex player doesn't appear to have any managerial experience. However Xavi ex Spain international is available with 3 years experience of coaching at Barcelona.

21 Oct 2025 14:16:23
I was only looking at that last night Arddunby, but he wasn't working with the level of players we've got was he, might be abit alien to him.

21 Oct 2025 16:44:13
Indeed yes, I imagine that he would hold out for a UCL club at this stage of his career Abbey

21 Oct 2025 11:10:41
Im travelling up for the Burnley game and hoping for a win and 3 points.
We need to support the team and get off Jeff's back.
Channy is still our biggest goal threat but if he is out injured I would start Doherty at centre forward as he has scored more goals for us in his career than anyone else in the current squad.
Maybe start Tolu up front alongside Doherty with Arias on the left as he was the best player in South America and we must thank Jeff for signing him.

Love the satire Goatmark2.
Best laugh I've had for a while.

21 Oct 2025 15:09:32
What about Johnstone in midfield? He wouldn’t have to kick it as far, or all our defence on the goal line, or 5 striker tactic just to be sure? The options are endless!

21 Oct 2025 09:39:34
Apparently it has conveniently been leaked from within the club that the compensation package for releasing Vitor and his team is pre agreed in his new contract, and isn't vastly different from the short term contract he was previously on.
This must mean that Vitor is on his final warning and Fosun are close to pulling the trigger.

Personally I'd love to see him use that as an incentive. play his formation, tactics and the players he's chosen and take 6 points from the next 2 games and turn the tide!

Johnstone

Agbadou Santi Krejci

Jackson Andre Gomes Hugo

Munetsi Arias

Fans have criticised VP's team selections, tactics and substitutions which may, of course, have merit given the times we've managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in some games and he may finish up being sacked sooner rather than later. That will be 6 Managers/Coach's in 5 years so you have to ask the question, why? The answer being of course decision making based on finance rather than football all the result of the dumbing down of the Club by the owners.

Their man at Wolves has failed miserably but is still in post. Their financial restrictions on the club has enforced the sale of our best players every Summer. Their failure to recognise that their lack of ambition and investment in the fixed assets of the club has put the club in a race to the bottom. Some say we can't compete with clubs that have invested in larger stadiums and created bigger income streams, actually highlighting Fosun's failings.

Any call for fans unity may be noble but that won't change anything, almost as pointless as my spoof Positive Thinking Crystals. Hope, prayer and wishful thinking within the fan base achieves nothing. You can't hope for success, that takes knowledge, ambition, dedication, funding and above all planning to succeed. Fosun offer none of those things to this Club and haven't for years.

What they do rely on, for appearances sake, is a cheering crowd, hoping for the best outcome, something that has been denied to them for far too long now. Wolves fans who pay their hard earned surely deserve better and if Fosun won't provide that, as Ron Moore says "why waste anymore time hoping they will", especially when they've said they won't.

Some have posted the old 'be careful what you wish for' but what's worse than our current situation locked in the re-occurring nightmare every season of a relegation struggle, it's purgatory for the fans, the players and the poor sod who has to make sense of on the pitch for 6 months, fail and then get the push.

This has gone on for way too long now so I repeat my earlier comment, if Fosun won't back the Club properly, they need to sell it.

21 Oct 2025 10:42:53
Interesting Molineuxway, is he still in Portugal, read somewhere that all coaching staff were back in Portugal not sure if true, or if that means anything.
Does Mendes get involved with replacement managers, seem to remember him being involved in the past, we need some help convincing someone to take over 🤞👍

21 Oct 2025 12:45:44
LongmyndWolf I don't pretend to understand the financial aspects of our football club but I find it hard to accept that any owner of a business would wantonly devalue it's value by stripping it's assets unless the business was planned to enter administration.

The value of a Premier league club is mostly due to it's position in that league, and therefore it seems that Fosun's self sustainability model and reluctance to invest in fixed assets and infrastructure points to their intention to sell up.

Regarding squad investment their options were invest up to the limits of PSR (I don't know how close they came), or splash the cash and pay the financial and points deduction penalty.

In fairness to them I understand their logic, why would you invest now if you're looking to offload asap and the investments will have no effect on the short term value?

It seems the situation is fans want Fosun out, Fosun want out, but there is no willing buyer on the horizon.

21 Oct 2025 12:57:36
Banksy51 good luck on that.

21 Oct 2025 14:03:53
Absolutely, Molineuxway why would you? Unless they believe the self sustainability model can work in this League, even when each seasons purchases appear to be less talented than the players you've just sold.

If they are looking to sell why would you place the Club in a position that makes it look so unattractive and minimise it's value? I believe that they believe their target of mere Premier League survival is sustainable over many years whereas in truth they are flirting with disaster, one that could cost them hundreds of millions.

I hear Jeff Shi is refusing the E&S's requests for an interview, maybe that's an indication that something is going on.

Any body got any ideas on what tactics VP will use against Burnley. I saw he was not happy with long balls against Sunderland. Against Brighton we had 11 behind the ball but still just kicked it up the pitch. Creativity and flair seems a thing of the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Oct 2025 22:16:42
I'm no football manager but VP is a creature of habit and will start with a 442 of Johnstone, Tchatchoua, Santi, Krejci, Hugo, Arias, Andre, Gomes, Munetsi, Hwang, JSL.

We'll take the lead then he'll bring on Agbadou for Andre, Bellegarde for Hwang, Rodrigo for Arias, Moller Wolf for Hugo and Tolu for JSL.

We'll end up conceding and then try and play intricate football in our own half for 10 minutes then go gung ho in added time looking for a winner.

We that's what we've done for the last 8 league matches so I can't see that changing any time soon.

The good news is that hopefully, Fosun have used this week to talk to potential replacements who, should we fail to win on Sunday, should be sacked within minutes of the final whistle. But let's not forget that Jeff Shi operates on another planet so will more than likely offer VP a contract extension.

21 Oct 2025 00:43:11
Wandering Star we didn’t take the lead against Sunderland.

First The Points.

21 Oct 2025 06:04:08
I know. The Spurs and Brighton games were an anomaly. Take out my second paragraph and its still the same.

21 Oct 2025 09:11:40
Sorry 449 tactics are something Vp doesn't have, can't defend, can't score. It will be the usual play out from the back, get as far as the half way line, then stop and play it back. Slow and ponderous, giving teams lots of time to defend against us. Gone are the Nuno days when we broke with speed and gave teams no chance to regroup. We had top players then who were quickly sold for profit and replaced with inferior players. This policy has caught up with them, we have ended up with virtually no quality Premier ballers.

21 Oct 2025 09:32:08
If we played a 449 Ray, we could baracade the goal mouth and maybe get a point 😂😂😂

21 Oct 2025 10:39:47
Sorry Wolvo we would still give a soft goal away, it's part of Vp's tactics!

21 Oct 2025 13:14:45
lol Ray😂

21 Oct 2025 14:13:51
That have to be 944 then wolvo
