I think we will pick up 21 points from the remaining games. Optimistic but would have us on 45 points at end of season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully vbwolf.
We have made good progress in the last few weeks; sacked Sellers; major positive restructuring, brought in some decent players; accumulated some points, now not bottom and morale has been improved.
All good.BUT our inability to score is a major worry.
However, if we survive, I think next season will be very exciting!

Agreed Rugeley all very positive changes no doubt, but goals in the main, still elude us against teams that offer any kind of organised defense.

I see the 'injury prone' Danny Ings got two yesterday, at £12-15M a bargain even if he is only available for 50% of the remaining games. Let's all hope that Cunha starts delivering soon.

Having said that this tendency to perform for 45 minutes then fade for the other 45 is equally worrying.

One swallow doesn't make a summer Longmynd.Would Villa have let him go, when still in lots of danger, if he could consistenly produce? Mudryk looked a world beater in his first game for Chelsea but could turn out to be the Ukrainian Traore. Its all about consistently producing 8/10 + performances and very few can do it. That's why the like of Modric, De Bruyne, Messi and their ilk are worth their weight in gold. Not old gold unfortunately.

The same Danny Ings who scored the excat same amount of goals as our very own Raúl Jiménez last season (they both got 6 goals all season FYI)?! So your answer to improve upon Raul is a player who scored the same paltry number of goals he did last season then? I fully accept that Raul and Costa both need replacing, just not sure improving on them is as easy as peeps seem to think!

That may well be the case Old Wulf, but as none of our 3 strikers have hit the net yet in the post January period only time will settle this debate.

Personally, I rate Cunha but presumably he needs to settle in, let's just hope we can afford the time as both Costa and Jimenez currently offer little, right now we need goals.

Agree about Costa, Longmynd, and although Jiminez is obviously not the long term solution his performance against Fulham was akin to his pre-injury days with his hold up and general play being excellent. More of the same and he'll do alright for me for the rest of the season.
Watched the whole Palace v Liverpool match yesterday and thought that Liverpool's defence still looked dodgy and feel that we have a right chance so long as we manage to curtail the dangerous supply line that is Alexander-Arnold.

I didn't see the game Old Wulf but I have heard that about Raul's performance. If only he could find a goal to start rebuilding that part of his game.

Bully's, I never saw Ings as a long term solution just a better option right now for a team in a relegation dog fight because they can't score goals.

So far this season in the Prem: Costa, Jimenez and Cunha - 0 Ings - 8. Let's hope Cunha can settle in and deliver soon as I doubt the other two will.
