Just seeing Andreas Weimann is on the Derby County retained list?
Another twist to add to the "we haven't a clue what is going on" saga!

RugeleyWolf2

1.) 15 May 2017 13:55:18
No real lose in my opinion like I've said before how many hard working non goal scoring forwards does one club want?

2.) 15 May 2017 14:16:03
What is going on this started Friday morning we heard nothing since r some fans making this up or what.

3.) 15 May 2017 14:29:48
Weimann won't be released by Derby as we have an option to purchase him. If they released him he would be a free agent and we could sign him for zilch, instead of circa £1.5mil in the option agreement.

4.) 15 May 2017 15:11:01
Whoever comes in needs to be quick about it. How can he assess the squad? It's taken PL 6 months and now the season is over! I'm not a huge fan but he's not the worst! I also think Jeff Shi was told from above as he thought PL was staying and even said so 2 weeks ago. I expect he will get pissed off with all this as no one will believe anything he says anymore! Basically, it's has become a farse! 👎😥⚽️.

5.) 15 May 2017 15:14:24
Thanks DT. that makes sense.
Though it does suggest no deal at this stage.

6.) 15 May 2017 16:13:46
Hope I am wrong but this is looking like another day with no news from the club. This is so unfair on the fans. What is going on? 🤔.

7.) 15 May 2017 16:38:24
What do we think about or know about Fosun? They are wealthy and have business acumen, however, NO football business acumen, 4 managers in 10 months, tell that tale! Expecting a new manager to come in, assess the team who are on holiday and decide what players he wants to keep, who he wants to buy and release in the next 2.5 months seems like a tall order to me. Will he be the quality manager we all want, and how long will he last? These I think are all valid questions given what we have come to know about Fosun. I think Jeff Shi gets told one thing and then another by his reverred leaders! Meaning he says one thing one minute and another the next, so no one will believe a word he says moving forward in or out of the club. That's not a tenable position all by itself is it? No credibility. Anyone coming to the club will have to look at, and consider all this crap before signing on the dotted line won't they? The future looks bleak from where I'm standing. I want to be wrong and hope I am. They, Fosun, are in the last chance saloon I think. If we're not careful we will hear people comparing us to the venkies at Blackburn. This is fast turning into a Nightmare me thinks. 👎.

8.) 15 May 2017 18:03:30
If Lambert goes it's a Godsend we are lucky Blackburn and Wigan have been worse than us this season. Us beating Liverpool was the highlight of our season and this papered over cracks and problems. Bring in Karanka / Silva!

10 Dec 2016 14:58:40
Tim Spiers reports Jeff Shi is back in the country and at today's game. Meetings will be held about January recruitment next week.

Please let these be led by Lambert!

1.) 10 Dec 2016 15:45:33
Now 1-3 Fulham. please sack Thelwell tonight!

2.) 10 Dec 2016 16:57:40
4-4. Seems Lambert can motivate at half time. Need to sort the defence out as a matter of urgency and then get the entire team to play for the full 90 minutes.

3.) 10 Dec 2016 18:52:34
Poor midfield and once again'defence, whole spine of the team needs to be reworked in january.
2 centre backs and a midfielder with some bite and authority needed as a minimum.

4.) 10 Dec 2016 19:08:11
He put out the strongest team available not a good confidence boost for Burgoyne though at least we had Cav and Saiss on from the start Lambert seems to think like the fans with team selection.

5.) 10 Dec 2016 20:40:25
Seen goals on sky sports, what an exciting match fair play to Wolves from coming from 3-1 down to 4-3 up then Fulham equalise
In injury time due to bad defending again and although Fulhams earlier goals were taken well it was still bad defending on our part by giving them to much room.
The chances we missed were unbelievable how Dicho and Cavilaro missed I will never know they were easier to score I counted 4 chances watching highlights but what an entertaining game of football which is credit to the team and Paul Lambert.
Has to sort defence out but Lambert will now that on today's evidence, they have had to many chances to prove there selves but unfortunately they are not good enough although they try there hardest.

6.) 11 Dec 2016 01:43:31
Jeff Shi is back with Andy Pan. vice president of Fosun. not to happy with Thelwell I am told.

7.) 11 Dec 2016 07:42:56
Felix. hope they sack him on Monday! He is the architect of our squad compilation. a waste of space!

8.) 11 Dec 2016 10:14:12
Therwell is the only constant left of the rot. Get rid of him and get a proper football person in.

Our team is so poor at ball retention its unbelievable, teams are coming down the Mol and we make them look like Barcelona.
once we reverted to direct play yesterday we immediately got our rewards. Until he gets a defence that can defend and midfielders who can pass then he has to stick to 442 and play direct.

9.) 12 Dec 2016 08:37:40
The whole spine of the team needs addressing. Two quality defenders at the back, at least one commanding Thorobreds in the middle and two quality strikers, then maybe we can start to edge forward. 😉.

Morning All,
There is so much conflicting information around our Club.
Absorbing it all, my take is that Lopetegui is not demanding huge transfer funds, he understands the Club's situation.
His frustration is driven by Shi's lack of decision-making. He just wants to agree a budget and plan for ins and outs and get on with it, so he has much time with the new squad as possible.
Not an unreasonable position.
Mr Guangchang needs to give another kick up the backside!

1.) 25 May 2023 08:22:18
I think your on the mark to a degree rugely, the degree being that until they know who's going and for what income, what wage bill etc it'd be difficult to balance a budget out. Then if JL has targets how much that expenditure would be. The crux of things being can JL go ahead and make plans and approaches now as opposed to waiting for income and savings, effectively needing a 'bridging' kitty which would be abit of a gamble for fosun to supply and of course FFP regulations compliance. I think JL just needs an underwritten assurance, but of course it has to fita business model of sorts. Guess we can do nothing but hope wait and see.

2.) 25 May 2023 15:30:12
Well today the press are working in overdrive. Now that Arne Slot has turned down Spurs, they are apparently going all out for Lopetegui.

3.) 25 May 2023 16:46:29
Spurs may make more money than Wolves, but if JL thinks that Levi will give him the resources he needs inline with their expectations as a club in comparison to where wolves are then he will be in for a big shock. All he'd get out of Spurs is a pay rise.

4.) 25 May 2023 17:00:12
Conflicting is one word Rugeley, I would add 'guesswork' to that list.

I saw on one of the football sites we had the 'doubts about JL's future' then a story linking us to a £30M transfer.?

5.) 25 May 2023 18:13:16
*Any* manager that goes to Spurs needs their head examining.

6.) 25 May 2023 20:29:29
Nice posts as usual, bit of a heads up. Rumour in Cheshire,is Brendan Rogers to spurs, plus I saw a punter put £100,on him at 3/1,I know it's not a massive bet.,but there's no smoke without fire
Coyw

7.) 25 May 2023 21:07:14
Your Cheshire punter was stitched up Greyleg because 5/1 is available in places. Not sure about Spurs going all out for Lopetegui, Jas, because he's currently only co 6th favourite at 16/1 although he's come down from 40/1 over the last week.

8.) 26 May 2023 06:38:57
All guess work my guess remains how longs a piece of string?

COYW

9.) 26 May 2023 06:51:57
Assuming Shi doesn't cause any issues, Lopetegui and his team will stay with us because it is the only gig in the Premiership were he would have control of all Footballing matters. A Club like Spurs has too many others having a say, ie Levy, Sporting Director etc.

10.) 26 May 2023 07:26:51
It was with corals old wolf. But time will tell. Mate

11.) 26 May 2023 07:27:28
Top of the morning to ya Rugeley,

Do you remember shi in the pub at an away game buying the round of drinks for the fans lol I chuckling to myself to if he did that now and you was in the pub what would you say to him,My guess is you would give him both barrels full and hopefully for shi's sake you hadn't had a skin full lol.
And/Or get in first as there would be a stampede from fellow away fans.
All the best pal.
Looking forward to us all having better times with wolves than has been this season and the few before.

COYW

12.) 26 May 2023 19:01:48
I'm with you Phil!.but I would be civil. I would try and establish what drives his decision-making

23 May 2023 07:44:18
Good to see us being linked with new players.
Pointless talking firm names a this stage, but it suggests we are active.
It will be an interesting few weeks when the window opens on the 14th June.

1.) 23 May 2023 08:07:57
The Neves / Fatu deal seems to be gathering momentum beyond the clickbait sites, I wonder if there is any merit to the story?

2.) 23 May 2023 09:03:15
Possibly Debbie, I see Mr Wayne Veysey from Football Insider is at it again after telling us last week the JL will walk in the summer if he doesn't get funds, now apparently Sa wants to leave because fans have turned against him.

How do they know this? apparently sources have told them. This sources bloke must really be in the know.

Phil, I'm finally going to do the Wolves stadium and museum tour, receiving one as a recent birthday present. Not sure who'll be conducting the tour yet, but I know you enjoyed yours so something to look forward to.

3.) 23 May 2023 09:12:28
Hi Debbie, I thought the view was Fatu didn't want to join Wolves?
We certainly already have a fair share of players coming too us reluctantly!
One thing I am sure of, Lopetegui will not sign anyone who is not committed to being part of our Pack!

4.) 23 May 2023 09:36:30
I struggle to believe this one tbh. The reality is Neves is going to be the makeweight in Wolves purchase of Fati who arguably we wouldn't be interested in signing unless Mendes was desperate to do the deal. I'm happy for Ruben he's been great for us but let's have the money! Barcelona don't have it.

5.) 23 May 2023 09:41:19
Barca'

6.) 23 May 2023 11:16:05
Fantastic longmynd great to hear enjoy it mate which I'm sure you will.
Lol I sat I sat in the managers seat where they do the press conference pretending I was Lage Lol no one could understand me either ha ha

7.) 23 May 2023 14:24:00
I'll finish my sentence now. Barca' was the start of my response.

Just seen a photo on a twitter account (Rob Dorsett, I think of Sky) of Adama Traore at #wwfc training ground.
So must be close to an announcement.
I know some who are dubious about this signing. just a couple of reassuring facts:
1. When in Premiership in 2016 (20 yo) he was measured as the 7th fastest player
2. Last year, when dribbling, beat 269 opponents. next best was only 130!
Also despite not many goals, plenty of Assists in the last couple of seasons.
I think it is another brilliant bit of business by Nuno!

RugeleyWolf2

1.) 07 Aug 2018 19:28:07
Absolutely spot on Rugeley. Great signing, we all know it's done but cmonnn Wolves, don't tease us, make it official!

2.) 08 Aug 2018 08:15:09
He has so far no end product - fact.
Pulis has highlighted it and been working on it positively.
Hopefully, Nuno and the staff can turn his potential into a match-winning player
In Nuno we trust.

Peter, I would rather Fosun finally sack Shi.
Changing the manager will not change the culture of the last few seasons.

I agree DT, O'Neil will be a top manager, if the next 2 games go badly, unlikely to be at Wolves. Shi always needs his scapegoat.

The trouble is Rated, we all rely on the media for our information.
We get sucked in to read and then take as true the 90% of nonsense that comes from ALL media channels. By the way that goes for much of other general news.
Going back, it seems there were posters who did have connections to the Club and would have a few gems of insights to share. That doesn't seem to be the case now.
For what it is worth, Mr Guangchang (Fosun), I think has now a good direct working relationship with Hobbs and has made it clear the transfer budget. Hobbs seems to be spending it wisely, so making it difficult to close deals. I still believe we will strengthen.
I just wish the 3 owners would find us a decent commercial manager to build additional revenue to develop the Club in terms of players, stadium and fan base.

Well Bully, we seem to be in violent agreement on our recent history.
Totally share your views on Dalyrypole, really disappointing to read all the negative comments about him. From people I know close to Harlequins, he is doing an excellent job for the Club.
Also as TFIOG and yourself have said, the other two also released have moved on to other decent roles.
Since those changes, we have stumbled along.
For me, A bit worrying to now hear our manager talking about limited funds being available for squad strengthening, especially after the 2 big sales.
I really thought we would have sorted out at least a couple more signings this week.it is starting to feel like the dejavu we have experienced for the last few seasons.

Not wrong Long.
However, at the moment, changing managers over the last few seasons feels like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
We have been lurching from the heady days under Laurie Dalrymple downwards since the big changes at the Top and I fear that will continue as Fosun's strategy for their Sports Division now appears to be, use Wolves to create funds to build the esports and sportwear businesses.

Thanks to the Leadership of the Club, ouŕ personnel options have been allowed to wither in Defence. If we take a Back 5, plus GP, that means a squad of 12 players:
Our options:
2 GPers Both average
2 RBs 1 too inconsistent,
1 passed it
6 CBs 1 old man, but is our
star player
3 with potential, but not
Premiership yet
2 vacancies
2 LBs 1 skillful, but a weak
defender
1 vacancy
OK, some players can multi-task, but
we have one genuine Premiership player as a defender and he is vulnerable to injury.
How is a new manager going to fix the defence issue with such limited resources?

VaB, this is the same pattern we have seen in the last few seasons.
From Santo onwards, coaching team and then players have become disillusioned with the Leadership of the Club.
The cycle will start again very soon and O'Neil will leave a wealthy man and the football world, understanding the regime he has been working under means he will be back in a good job as soon as it suits him.just like the last 3!
