Rob Edwards now 1/5, seems likely, don’t think bookies are normally this much out. Refreshing to hear we may have 3 academy players on the bench for Chelsea, long overdue young players actually getting into the team. Everyone will get behind Edwards if it does happen.

Is he really the best choice?

2.) 08 Nov 2025 08:43:16
To be perfectly honest he may be our only choice.

3.) 08 Nov 2025 10:56:09
A manager that got relegated at Luton sacked at Watford just what we need to keep us in the Prem

For me Bellegarde is frustrating, no doubt has ability, for short spells in some games he looks good, unfortunately doesn’t maintain this and goes missing. Obviously doesn’t help when we keep losing and confidence is very low, I do prefer him to Munetsi. We only really have the 3 midfielders if Krejci plays in defence, could do with 2 Krejci’s.

Still think we should look to play:-
Johnstone, Hugo or Wolfie, Santi, Krejci, Jackson, Andre, Joao, then Mane, Arias or Bellegarde, Lopez and Tolu for next home game. Would like us to create plenty of chances, get Enzo on bench as well so we can at least see him.

TBH I'm not exactly sure what goes on at our club anymore. As you rightly point out we buy these players and then don't use them. Lopez, Tolu, Wolfie,
Jackson, Enzo, Lima etc?
It's gets pretty frustrating putting the same players out every week when they're so clearly out of form or low on confidence. Hwang, JSL, Bellegarde to name a few.
Collins had a free hit the weekend against Chelsea and really it was a pretty predictable poor line up.

He would have come away with more credibility if he'd been a bit more adventurous with his team selection and we got turned over, instead of the 'same old' with a fairly predictable result. It seriously makes you wonder though if that is what Collin's is coaching our youngsters then no wonder they leave and nobody comes through the academy.

10 Nov 2025 09:49:48
I see both Hwang and Toti saying they are looking forward to working with Rob. I hope Rob has seen enough of them both to avoid starting them in any games for the foreseeable future, likewise Bellegarde, Agbadou and more often than not Munetsi.

Also hope, as we have already mentioned he gives the younger lads a chance, Mane, obviously and what happened to the winger from South America, can’t even recall his name now?

Banksy51

1.) 10 Nov 2025 10:54:03
Funnily enough I always wondered what role munetsi was supposed to be in, on Saturday I was wondering what we were short of first half and I twigged it was munetsi not popping up here there and everywhere Banksy, up we weren't exactly doing anything until Mane came on with his energy, then of munetsi missed the target again when he had the chance.
The problems we've got with toti agbadu and mosquira, ( santi and kraicji Doc aside), is who do you play when needs must? I'd like to see young Alfie Pond have his chance.
Midfield we're lacking, but if Edwards can reinvigorate Andre and Gomez, without suspension or injury it's OK. Who slots in tho? We're back to bellegarde and munetsi, although with a different approach I think Wolfe and Hugo could work well and see Hugo going forward in a RAN mold, maybe the we have lopez Arias tolu and Larsen to choose from, there'd be no need for Hwang, who with all respect gives us little if anything.

(Incidently did you notice the longest run by a wolves player with the ball on Sat was hwang going back towards our goal?).
The winger from S America? Did we actually acquire the lad? There's someone who's been out injured who I can't remember, Lima of course is out on loan.
But we've other youngsters the lad Sutherland U21 Scotland for one who could maybe introduced as the season goes on, but whatever happens Rob has got to change the mentality of this squad, lift the confidence and aims.
Maybe Jeff could offer extra financial incentives for survival?

2.) 10 Nov 2025 11:56:05
Don't get this Bellegarde hate tbf. Granted, he's hardly up there in the upper echelons of Premier league stars but, at the lower levels we operate at, I can easily think of well over half a dozen players who I'd have for the chop before him. At least he tries to be positive and break the opponents defensive lines. Who else can we say that about?

3.) 10 Nov 2025 12:40:50
I have think Bellegarde has been one of our best players so far this season (not much to choose from). He is positive in the way he plays and looks to take on his man rather than keep playing the ball backwards. We have x2 big forwards who could be a handful but I think our wide players are letting us down. I don't rate Bueno that much and I think Jackson needs some confidence in using his pace against teams. The guy is or one of the fastest players in the league but it is like he is chained when attacking.

I have read that we will spend in January which does not surprise me as our summer business was awful. January window is known to be a poor window and what good players will want to come anyway? we had the issue in summer where players did not want to come.

4.) 10 Nov 2025 12:44:56
Trouble is Abbey, Gomes and Andre are very similar players and even when playing with confidence don't exactly compliment each other, particularly when we play a back five. Just one of the many and various conundrums that our new manager will face.

Perhaps the biggest is how do we stop crosses going into our box? To my eyes, this has been one of our major downfalls but from what we've seen this season to date none of our full/wing backs are anywhere near capable and so always need assistance from others.

5.) 10 Nov 2025 13:35:04
The appointment of Edwards will do very little in my opinion. Tbh I think he will be lucky to win five games such is the malaise of the club. The efforts by all need to be on removing Shi and Fosun

6.) 10 Nov 2025 14:19:11
I think the South American winger you are talking about Banksy is Enso Gonzales, currently in the under 21s.

7.) 10 Nov 2025 14:31:49
Shi and Fosun won't be going anywhere unless China invade Taiwan

8.) 10 Nov 2025 15:08:06
Can't disagree old wulf regarding gomez and Andre, but who else have we got? Andre as been having abit of a sulk and gomez running around chasing, I just think they'd play better with support for their style. The crossing in is somewhere that needs resolving, and to that end with both Wolfe and Hugo ahead of him lending a defensive left midfield combo maybe that'd be netter than Hwang wandering about.
On the crosses I truly feel pond could help out ahead of toti, with a decent distribution out .
Mane gives the energy and skill to provide the forward ball quicker with larsen being given the edge over tulu in holding the ball and head on.

Right side I totally agree Alex, jackson can be a powerhouse down that wing, if, we can play accurate balls for him, and as with adama, keep up with him.
Defensively the right worries me, not sure either mosquira or santi can close quick enough or maybe their minds have been half watching the spaces between toti agbadu .
Thankfully it's not my problem to address but if Edwards dosnt do anything QS it won't matter what Fosun and Shi do this season, but their presence won't be encouraging the calvalry brigade of players we'll need in January

9.) 10 Nov 2025 15:22:01
Cheers Ray that is the fella ?

09 Nov 2025 11:04:28
I think we need to provide Rob with a little help, he obviously reads our posts:-

1) No more Whang or Bellegarde
2) Drop JSL for the time being
3) Play more creative players, Mane, Lopez
4) Sign at least 1 midfielder in January
5) Prepare for the inevitable lack of help from Jeff and losing our best players every year

I would say no more Toti or Agbadou, however we will have no defenders left.

Absolute mess, best of luck Rob, you must be a little mad to join us.
Best we can hope for is he manages to restore a little confidence, changes the players, and we somehow look a different side. Long shot I realise, but have to cling on to something.

Banksy51

1.) 09 Nov 2025 12:19:44
I would really like to know how Jeff lured him to us?

2.) 09 Nov 2025 12:30:08
I assume Rob Edwards decision is as much to do with family as football. He is local, and that is a great tug. It must have been on his wishlist to manage Wolves at some stage. If he comes in now and manages to get a tune out of the players he may well keep some for the challenge next season.

A quick return will look good on his CV, and if a new owner materialises in the meantime he may well have a great influence over the coming years for Wolves. It is a risk, but you have to take the opportunity and weigh up the risk and your own belief.

3.) 09 Nov 2025 13:27:27
Wimbornewolf - It has been said elsewhere before, make yourself available, attend the interview, say the right things and promise to bring results, do the job, get sacked and take the money!

4.) 09 Nov 2025 13:51:28
Plus being a Wolves Manager you won't have to wait too long for the sack and subsequent pay off OAP Wulfrunian. Maybe less than 12 months.

5.) 09 Nov 2025 16:28:45
Well. If he keeps us up.
It will be regarded as a modern day miracle
But I think its to get us back in long term to
Prem status if we go down

6.) 10 Nov 2025 06:55:01
If he gives me honest, entertaining, genuine effort and hope, and more importantly pride even in defeat, then he'll have gone someway to building for the future.
Maybe we won't be seeing the exotic players from abroad, but Edwards should have seen the potential in lower priced lower league names who can give us what we need to rebuild and return to the top.

What Fosun have in mind for us remains to be seen.

08 Nov 2025 09:53:27
Hoping for a good performance tonight, think the team will want to put on a good showing proving VP was the problem and not the individual players. Really hope we can get something from the game, create chances and actually score ?.

Seems that it will be Rob Edwards and I wish him all the best as I think we all will.

Banksy51

1.) 08 Nov 2025 10:53:27
I have a ticket for tonight so will put a report/ratings on here on Sunday.
Fingers crossed but to be honest fearful!

2.) 08 Nov 2025 11:10:33
?Fully agree Banksy

3.) 08 Nov 2025 11:32:13
Agree banksy.
Looks like he's planning his assistants
Ready to take over, as long as its an improvement from vp.
Im sure it will be, what i'm not sure of, is, will it be enough to keep us up.
Fingers crossed. But maybe we will have to rebuild in championship, time will tell.
So let's get behind the team

4.) 08 Nov 2025 12:01:13
Yes. I'm hoping the players will be able to express themselves tonight and play with more freedom. Maybe play Tolu and JSL together up front and cause some chaos in their box.
I'm not disappointed with Rob Edwards if that who it turns out to be. As above we all need to get behind him and the team and give them our full support. COYW.

5.) 08 Nov 2025 12:07:58
If Edwards is coming in, all I can say is Hallelujah!

That great Leonard Cohen song reminds me of the highs and lows of supporting Wolves.

Edwards is one of our own. The rumoured plans of ex-players coming on board with him could be game-changing. He must usher in a change of culture at the top, to break the negative cycle, season after season, that we have suffered since Nuno departed.

6.) 08 Nov 2025 12:19:04
Seems a decent chap. I just hope Shi doesn't destroy him.
I guess from his point of view, it showcases him back in the Premiership.
When Wolves go down (just my opinion), he can position himself for another Premiership role with no blame attached to him.

7.) 08 Nov 2025 12:32:57
Would be great to get local Wolverhampton influence back into OUR club. Real passion is required by all if there’s going to be a miraculous turnaround. I know he’s not from Wolverhampton, but I would love to see Conor Coady involvement for his passion and enthusiasm - he never stops encouraging and is loud so will be heard.

COYW - show some pride tonight

8.) 08 Nov 2025 13:18:51
Regarding the rumours of ex players coming in alongside Edwards. I’m all for that as long as it’s the right ones. I’d love to see Coady for example.
As for Lescott though…no disrespect to the bloke, he was a great player for us but I personally wouldn’t want him coaching our defence - unless it was to teach them how to shift any blame for conceding goals away from themselves and onto their teammates.

Lescott was world class at that in his later years.

9.) 08 Nov 2025 18:17:41
Let’s not get negative 3GWolf. Times are a changing and we need to get behind everyone involved.

07 Nov 2025 10:04:05
No wonder Jeff is going to use the international break to find our new manager, everyone with any sense will turn the offer down, very sad state for our club. A PL club with a good fan base and nobody wants the job, says it all unfortunately.

As always he interesting to see the team this week, reports that both Toti and Mosquera will be back, not sure about these 2 on recent performances. Surely Joao and Andre both recalled, be great to see Mane included as well.

Banksy51

1.) 07 Nov 2025 12:14:46
While Jeff Shi remains at the club, the only direction we're going is down.

Club is ruined. No decent manager will want to come here.

Maybe an acceptance that we will be relegated this time, I like Rob Edwards, however I always thought he may be a good manager and possible candidate in the future, not just yet. I hope I am wrong just can’t see us staying up this season, whoever comes in, if they manage to keep us up they would have done an incredible job.

Does look like it Pikey, official approach to be made, apparently Jeff wants him. Personally I am not sure, however in our position we have to have whoever will come to some extent. Will wish hi the best if he does arrive.

Interesting Shada I have thought for sometime we could do with signing a new GK. Happy to see they looked at this. How do you think team will shape up v Newcastle?

Looking pretty bad Shada123, what I don’t understand as well, thought we were already looking to add a striker before the JSL links to Newcastle.
If he does go, which unfortunately is looking more and more likely, we need 2 strikers. At this rate, Hwang is looking like our only CF until January ?. Don’t fancy our chances of staying up this season if this is the case. Even £75M for JSL doesn’t cover the cost of relegation.

Unfortunately I think you are correct Long, not impressed at all by last nights performance. Think we need a new manager who is a magician to save us this season.

Thought we would have a go at Chelsea, JSL needs time out of the team and play Tolu, Hwang, don’t get me started on him, useless majority of the time and Bellegarde goes missing. May as well have played with 8, what happened to giving others a go, surely with confidence lost, you play others, mind you as we sold all other midfielders and didn’t replace them this is difficult.
Think of the players we have let go or sold, Neves, Neto, Cunha, RAN, Adama, all capable of producing some excitement, none of the current squad are. None of them can create a goal scoring opportunity with a great pass or dribble. Between Jeff and VP’s so called recruitment our team now has no creativity and unfortunately less confidence. Rob would be more sensible to stay where he is then move to this rubbish, terrible to say but true.
Just abysmal.

Just read elsewhere that they didn’t start looking for potential new managers until Sunday. Not sure why I expected a little more planning and preparation from Jeff, may take some time then.
