Hi all a big favour can you give me the best directions from wolverhampton to Canterbury please.
Checked on map want to bypass London if possible.

I'd come down M40 to M25 and then probably down M2 (If you have time you could go down M20 and then go cross county - some really superb countryside in Kent - south of Ashford, Ealham valley) Avoid Dartford Tunnel traffic nightmare!

M6, M42, M40, then around the M25 (anticlockwise to avoid Dartford Crossing) to M2, then down the M2 to Canterbury is best as Tfiog suggests Phil.
The only caviat to Tfiog's M20 related comment is in my experience it can be a pain to go across country in Kent. The M2 option is probably quickest.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and agree with TFIOG. The debate we had was M25 clockwise (Dartford Crossing) or anti-clockwise (past Heathrow) to get to the M2 or M20. If you go M20 to M2 which was where our satnav sent us there are some roadworks before joining the M2 but nothing too major.

Re going cross country - of course it is much slower (even before roadworks - although shorter - but far far more pleasant driving) B roads compared to Motorway and some chocolate box villages.
PS Canterbury is a truly stunning city enjoy think Litchfield or Chester but even better

Just quick post set off at 3.30 got to my destination just after 7 oclock.
Took wrong turn off getting onto the m42 ended up going down M1 M25 a few other motorways and M2 lol.
Thanks for the big favour guys you the best and I've everything to lose and everything gain.

Even though the sky is pretty black here after the last couple of weeks the sun seems to be shining at last on our season. Glad you had a good trip Phil to near where I originated from. Could have offered the names of a few decent pubs there. Spent some of my best times there when I had hair, chasing the music of local bands and long legged girls.
