It wasn't unreasonable to expect Wolves to come through the last three games having accrued 5 points, even 7 was possible, imo.
Still we achieved just 1 point so what will the next three games return? I'm not going to even try to predict the results because following the previous disappointments, how can you?
Is it the style of play, team selection, match tactics, lack of chances created or the complete inability of our forwards to maintain goal scoring positions and put the ball in the net? The only consistent in each of those 3 games being the disappointment of the result.
I suspect it's the style of play failing to create chances as the midfield don't make defense splitting passes causing the forwards to stray back to receive the ball leaving no one in goal scoring positions. It makes us too flat, too slow in the build up with little penetration up front.
Just my opinion, but I don't think this style of play suits this group of players, so in the meantime to get us over the line why don't we return to 5 at the back and re-utilise the counter attacking game until the end of the season? Nuno had success with it, Bruno, to his credit recognised that and delivered a great run until he changed it.
We seemed to do that more against Liverpool at the Mol creating 3 clear cut chances with 1 converted by Neves for our 3rd goal. Jimenez fluffed the other 2 so that also tells us something.
It's no good repeating what isn't working time after time expecting a different outcome.

I think we need to win 5 out of the remaining games. That would put us on 39 points. I still had hoped to get to 45 but that might be too optimistic.

It is difficult Longmynd and frustrating to the max.
Ask the supporters what is best and you will get a real kaleidoscope of views. I'm sure JLo and his sidemen discuss their options endlessly trying to squeeze the best out of the squad and are probably as frustrated as you and I that it is not working at the moment.
If we could put a run together confidence would grow and that's what is needed to free the squad from fear of relegation.

We need to avoid relegation,then I believe we will invest,in the right departments,to improve our place in prem,I'm confident we will do both,
So stick by our squad as it is,and trust the managers deployment of players for this season,
Next season maybe our best yet

I think we are doomed for relegation, we haven't got a centre forward to score, no matter who plays where we haven't got anyone to score goals. This new manager can't find the right formula to get goals. The only reason we may stay up is the results of the lower teams. The centre forwards we have got are just not good enough.

Those must have been imaginary goals that I witnessed against Liverpool, Southampton, Fulham, Everton etc. Granted we haven't got a top goalscorer but there are other ways if you have imagination.

I agree with you Melo7.We are not forceful enough in the box on the few occasions that we get there-Jimenez is not back to his best,Cunha promises but does not deliver and Costa I think is just happy to pick up his pay cheque.

Thing is OW it's more about results than just goals, for me. Yes one begat's the other but I would have been more than happy if we'd have won the last three games 1-0 or even two 1-0's and a 1-1.
However, to get 1 point out of a possible 9 is way below what's needed right now. That has to change, however achieved, otherwise we're just in the lap of the God's relying on others failure rather than our own achievements.

Not sure if it was Old Wulf who has for a while now, and it's been my opinion, we just don't create enough chances,was it not said that Andy Cole needed 3 or 4 chances to score how our forwards would like that.You cannot say our forwards are missing loads of chances can you,that's what has to be put right. Hopefully Neto can change that.

We haven't got a Steve Bull who attacked with shots from everwhere, Wolves have failed not getting a proper centre foreard and wasted money on players like Costa, I think its too late now for this season as we have no specialist goalscorer.i still hope we survive but I have my doubts.

Wolves just don't score enough goals, wish we had another Steve Bull, we will be relegated because of that. We need a goal scorer which we haven't got. Whose fault is that? This new manager hasn't changed the situation of goals, I fear we are doomed.

Southampton have Che Adams, Everton have Calvert Lewin, Bournemouth have Solanke, Leeds have Bamford and West Ham have Ings. Guess what? All these teams with a goalscorer are below us in the league. This is a team game. As long as we all stick together, I don't really care who scores the goals.

Whats the point different between Wolves and teams lower? not much! And of course goals do matter which Wolves are not doing. Goals win matches. Wolves have not got a centre forward scoring goals its a true fact.

But we were bottom of the league going into the World Cup break. We still haven't got a striker who is scoring but we have climbed the table.
