I just can't get motivated about this World Cup, wrong place and time! But it has come at the right time for Wolves. New manager and coaches, hopefully new players and new ideas. So Wolves can regroup abd start afresh. Good news about Sellers definitely going in the wrong direction. The only problem is other teams will be able to regroup and improve. I hope that our new manager will be successful in saving us from relegation.

I feel the same about the WC Melo. I think many of the 'other teams' have been performing at their maximums and others won't have the opportunity to spend, so a golden opportunity to catch up.

2.) 19 Nov 2022 14:04:55
Just can't agree despite major reservations about having it in Qatar for all sorts of reasons. Once the thing starts the momentum will build and I'll be watching virtually every game. We might be able to do a bit of scouting too.Bring it on!

3.) 19 Nov 2022 14:09:23
As an addition to my post on the World Cup that was placed in Other Posts. Following Infantino's rant this morning the score is now:-

Virtue Signalers 2 - 2 Faux Outraged

I can't get remotely motivated for it they've had ten years to change it and done nothing. Sad!

4.) 19 Nov 2022 14:11:19
Agree too about its come at the right time for us.
Personally I'm looking forward to the WC.
Lol in a fortnight wonder if I see plenty of England flags in the hedgerows.
If as expected we beat the underdogs same as France we will play France in the Q/f.

5.) 19 Nov 2022 14:58:59
Yes I think it won't come to life until the group games are over, but that's pretty much always the case now. Since Fifa expanded/diluted the tournament with more non European and South American sides most of the group games are routine IMO.

6.) 19 Nov 2022 15:34:15
Having it mid-season for Us was a bonkers decision, Fifa should recognise that despite financial 'incentives' some countries are just not suited to football. Having said that and selfishly it could be a life saver for Wolves. I may be able to work up some interest at Ko stage, but sadly watching England men is like watching wood warp.

7.) 20 Nov 2022 08:14:44
Did you see what the President of FIFA said about Qata, he should be sacked, it was Unbelievable! And so wrong about the set up there. There will not doubt be reprisals from various organisations. It should not have been held there. Too many human rights issues! His speech did not make sense just so rediculous!

8.) 20 Nov 2022 10:06:47
I agree with posts about WC. At the moment I havnt got a lot of interest bar portugul for obvious reason. The football has been overtaken by politic and action groups. Only this morning the 'sports' report I watched concerned themselves with how the WAGS would have to dress, no mention of squads, groups etc apart from Brazil having 2 prem league GKs. I dare say the quarters will gain traction but until then it'll be protests outside embassies that'll dictate above the games. The timing is ridiculous, the country is ridiculous and FIFA an embarrassment. Roll on Gillingham in the league Cup when I'll be excited again. Those of you looking forward to the event enjoy it.

9.) 20 Nov 2022 10:24:39
This World Cup venue was not chosen in an honest way, it was bought and paid for with blood money. The likes of Platini and Blatter are rich men out of it. You have to question the likes of Beckham and Gary Neville who are happy to promote this event . They spout about injustices and rights but wave a big wedge of cash under their nose and all principles to out the door. Beckham alone has been paid 10 million to promote this tournament, totally shameless.

10.) 20 Nov 2022 12:09:17
I agree Melo it was wrong to hold the tournament in Qatar on just about all counts IMO.

11.) 20 Nov 2022 15:54:25
Campana not even in Ecuador squad.
I assuming for months he woukd be starting I hot it totally wrong unless he is injured.
What a plonka I am.

{Ed002's Note - Leonardo Campana (S) Leaving Wolves for Inter Miami on a permanent deal January 1.}

12.) 20 Nov 2022 17:25:17
Well said Melo and Ray. So many hypocrites talking the talk and then pocketing cash. Pundits and celeb performers, shame on them.

13.) 21 Nov 2022 07:51:47
Thanks Ed002 ?
I knew that I've been thinking if he had a good world cup wolves would get more money for him.

{Ed002's Note - It would make no difference, it is a fixed fee.}

Its typical of Wolves, sack a manager and not have a replacement ready. They have egg on their faces now. Bruno made some terrible decisions, tactics, team selection and buying the wrong players. Who should be the next manager? I have no idea but Nuno is not the man. Shi has got to it right this time as I can see relegation ahead!

No more doom and gloom, we're playing forest, a must not lose fixture and ever the optimist I'm looking at 4-1 win Costa knocking in a couple of em. Hoping we see hodge again as well. Get behind the lads forget the woes for 90+ mins COYW COYW COYW

2.) 15 Oct 2022 09:40:16
Great Post Abbey enjoy your day pal.
Listening on radio again on way home from work.
It's so important we get a win today.

Fingers crossed ? eh

COYW COYW COYW ?

3.) 15 Oct 2022 09:40:23
Here’s hoping our season turns around today and the players are wearing gold in their hearts and sleeves . COYW

4.) 15 Oct 2022 10:03:55
How about trying to get behind the club and support them rather than slate them at every turn.

People wanted Bruno out and the club reacted but are getting slated for not having a replacement lined up when it appears that Lopetegui was lined up but had to turn us down for family matters.

It appears that we could appoint someone like Pep or Tuchel and some would still complain that we're paying them over the odds.

5.) 15 Oct 2022 11:43:46
You are making a very good point and I for one is guilty.Just want to say that one problem is the lack of communication between the club and the fans. A lot of the discussion between the fans are based on rumours. The club should either stop the leaks or come out with some official statements telling us what they are working on. Or both. What we don't need is a discussion that get to toxic and makes us divided as a club. A discussion based on rumours that maybe didn't have any substance in the first place. At the same time there must be room for opinions. Hard times but today will be the day the boys turn it around.

6.) 15 Oct 2022 12:20:01
I agree with Melo7.As much as Nuno did for the club he could take it no further a year ago so what's different now?.
Wolves have some very good players but with injuries and suspensions they are finding it difficult to gel into a team.
We need a manager to do that and I don't think either of the bookies'
favourites (Nuno and Dyche I understand) can do that.
Dyche could probably save us from relegation but at what cost?Boring football for the rest of the season I fear.

7.) 15 Oct 2022 12:41:20
Today will be abig judgement on how our players have about em, if they stand up the fans will roar them on, sit back and it could go sour very quick.
I think we will get a win and a few goals, but sure I say the same every week, Il go 3-1 Wolves, Pod,Gudes, Costa

8.) 15 Oct 2022 13:59:12
Today is match day, 3 points to collect and ease a few worries. Get behind the team, worry about the manager tomottow. COYW.

9.) 15 Oct 2022 15:04:20
Great stuff ?

10.) 15 Oct 2022 17:17:28
The 3 points is the main thing.
Said on radio very poor game.

Jas a happy household for you and yours tonight?

GDawg Ennis scored again today for Plymouth.

We out the bottom 3.
Onwards and upwards.
They said also the crowd was loud a cracking atmosphere so hats off to our home crowd.

No no Nuno, he had lost the plot at Wolves. Wolves would be going backwards. Please No Nuno!

Melo7

1.) 15 Oct 2022 02:14:50
But who else then, from the current list?! Its genuine question so PLEASE give me an answer ?
I like Rob Edwards but he is SO far away from what we need that it's not even funny! The very fact he's been given an interview needs to be a wake up call to us fans, this guy was running our youth team under Nuno! I increasingly find myself agreeing with the InnocentBystander (see above:). Let's face facts here's guys, Nuno may not feel like the man the fans want BUT off the current short list he may just be the guy this club currently NEEDS to get us back on the right path (particularly defensively)! I fully accept that it's a damning indiment on both him and us to go back a step but from what I'm seeing he's the best of a VERY poor bunch! The very fact he's on the shortlist represents a lesson/climb down from Shi! Let's just hope Shi, Nuno and us (as fans) all learn from this current tale of woe! Scary times ahead I fear! ?

Cant really add what people are saying. Really disappointed with result and team selection. I thought Nuno would have put his strongest team out. Really very strange looks like he didn't want to progress against a poor Southampton team. I am gutted.

Can't believe it Nuno says he is happy with the squad. He says the players just need to improve their performance! He is in cuckoo land! I think Nuno is struggling, the players have lost confidence. Wolves definitely need to improve the squad especially in midfield. Come on Nuno get in the real world, the results show we are not good enough.

Our midfield has not been playing well all season. They seem frightened to go forward to have go at goal. We are too slow going forward. Neto is too fast for the midfield he has no one up front with him. Midfield have lost confidence. Neto tactics are confusing we are not creating many chances. Coady seems to have lost confidence, he needs a rest.

Nuno has to go, this run is terrible and he has no idea what to do. We need new ideas, we have no spark.
It is no joy now watching the team, Nuno has had enough time to improve results but its just not happening. Goals are not coming we need new ideas quickly.

Why has this happened now? Who is at fault? Rumours are that JL wanted away when he knew he wouldn't have the money to buy. But to happen now is a disgrace and Wolves are a laughing bunch again. Just can't understand the mentality of Wolves owners!

Sorry have to be realistic 3 nil to Villa. The league position shows the difference to the teams. Wolves are not consistent, we can't score and our team selection is different from game to game. Whereas Villa are consistent with their new manager. Of course I hope I am wrong.

Yes agree Phil, we would be safe now if it wasn't for VAR decisions. VAR was introduced to stop refs making wrong decisions instead it has caused more bad decisions with incompetent VAR officials. Also the time it takes causes more disruptions. I believe VAR should be abandoned and just leave it to the referee. It is very frustrating for the fans and players waiting for the VAR decision.

18 Apr 2023 13:21:21 I think the FA should cancel VAR as the people in charge are making mistakes all the time. Wolves have had VAR errors with the latest one against Brentford with Toti Gomas being fouled and VAR did not change the decision. I believe we would be safe now if VAR had made the correct decisions. Incompetent officials are ruining the game. An apology after a wrong after the game does not change the result unfortunately.
