J-Lo has a huge decision for the Leicester game, does he change a winning formula via bringing Neves back into the fold?

Agree0 Disagree0

Like I've said, don't change a winning team,we doing ok at moment
Were going to have a superb bench, tbh,I know neves will be disappointed, but we're a team, and team comes first,he will get his chance,so there in lies his opportunity, for him to cement his place,

For me Debbie, the short answer is no, off the bench if needed, maybe. For the first time we are seeing a revitalised Wolves, playing a more expansive attack minded game. Compared to the soak the game up just for the sake of 'control' tactics previously adopted, this is a breath of fresh air.

We are scoring again with Costa apparently now reaching match fitness and putting in one hell of a shift yesterday. I know this may be sacrilegious to some but JL has to mould a team in preparation for life without Neves and also allow players like Nunes to come to the fore, as he has done during the last two games.

Neves is and always be a Wolves legend and an extraordinary footballer no doubt, but unless JL can re-invent his role to avoid everything needing to go through him we'll lose this momentum, imo. It's not uncommon for teams with talisman players to rely too much on them often preventing other talent from shining or coming through.

Wolves are blessed to currently have Neves, Nunes and actually Gomes and Lemina as well, so let's use them all to their full potential, even if that means Neves having to take his turn on the bench. Not sure how many realise it but Nunes is considered to be one of best midfielders in the world, so give him the opportunity to show it.

I would bench him for now. He will understand I’m sure and especially if he leaves at end of season will be good for the other boys to have some playing time together. We just have played a lot quicker without him and they deserve another chance to show what they can do.

Looks like the 442 system is working well without neves.which actually bodes well for the future.and nunes at last looks like the player he really is. without neves!

For me it's either nerves or lemina not both,
Both great midfield holding players, let Nunez and homes get forward
Just like to say I thought Cunha put a real shift in yesterday amongst a great team performance

Leicester will set up not to lose and will play negative football, trying to frustrate us and hit us on the break. We have shown against Bournemouth and Leeds that we find it difficult to play against these tactics. For me, Neves starts along with Gomes and Nunes and Neto and Sarabia out wide.

Costa a doubt hope he shakes off his knock.
For me a must to keep Nunes on the right.
Sarabia Neto or podence on the left.
Big decision on neves for our manager as the central midfield a choice of 2 from 3 neves gomes
and lemina.
Feel 2 wingers haa been tried perserved with, with not much success.
We have the 5 subs option with Adama joining the list of wingers who can come on and do their stuff.

Leicester will almost certainly be negative Jas and I suspect Palace may do also. These are dangerous matches that we can't afford to lose, two points wouldn't be a disaster.

I'm with Jaz on this one. Neves has to start. You simply have to play your best player. It's down to the manager to get the tactics for each individual and team right.

There's absolutely no way Leicester can afford to be negative. Given what they did at Molineux they will see it as one of their most winnable games. Semedo had a nightmare against Barnes so let's hope he's still injured.A draw will be a good result.

If it’s not broken don’t fix it simple .

16 Apr 2023 20:35:16
Old they can't afford to be negative but don't forget they are only 2 points from safety. No doubt they noticed how Bournemouth and Leeds got the points against us.

Just read your final sentence Longmynd.Apolologies but it's not April 1st.Nunes is nowhere near a regular for Portugal so how can he be considered one of the best midfielders in the world? He is nowhere near that level. You only have to witness his sloppy passing which has still been occurring, although thankfully to a much lesser extent, in his best (last two) games. He has undoubted potential but needs to iron out his faults to become a top player.
