Was thinking that myself Phil, I hope it'll be OK to play and safe for travelling/spectators etc. and we could do with maintaining momentum.

Yes Abbey definitely keep the momentum going.
It's snowing fairly heavily in Birmingham not sticking yet.
What's it like down south for you?

Minus 1 when I left wolverhampton this morning.
On radio said the coldest since 2010 in the Highlands Scotland and getting worse towards the end of the week up north.
Fingers crossed its all gone come Saturday night Sunday.

Phil, a few years ago we watched the Boxing Day hunt (drag) leave from Ludlow Castle then shot over to Wolverhampton Racecourse for the afternoon meeting and watched horse racing in fairly heavy snow on the all weather track.

Didn't see anyone topless that day Old Wulf.

Been to the horse racing a few times at Dunstall (w,ton)
Used to play 4 aside football in the indoor cricket place Dunstall at the back of the race course.
Played the indoor cricket too.
Used to love it.
No surprise I won nothing on my bets at the horse racing but my team won the cricket and my old works toolroom team won the cup league with the 4 aside football.
Also we played a factory departments 4aside tournament we won that but to be fair the polishing department were a better team they proper graft at work being on piece work standing at the mops polishing by hand all day,the toolroom (domestic toolroom) was very easy going.
This was getting on 30 years ago when young dumb and full of you know what lol.

Blimey Phil talk of toolrooms, polishing departments and the like takes me back a bit. These days we don't tend to actually make too much here, just screw it together.

Not really a horse racing fan but I did enjoy that afternoon watching it live.

One of my first works do's at wolverhampton race course where I've worked till present 28 years this year.

I've been to Monmore Green the dogs and once the speedway when our uncle took us as kids.

When I started work the older guys in the toolroom told me you could walk out of one job on a Friday and start another on the Monday.
Times changed wasn't many engineering apprenticeships about the YTS schemes were to take over waste of time those YTS schemes.
I haven't been out of work since leaving school and earnt some good money in the contract toolroom in
B'ham so I've done alright I think.
