According to the Italian media Wolves are asking for 35m for Andre!

Beowulf is this just a figure they have pulled out of the air.
2.) 13 Jul 2025 20:46:34
With Sainz moving to Porto do you think we are linked with one of their forwards?
Samu Aghehowa looks very similar to Cunha with his pace and the fact he likes to press.
Sounds like Vitor type of player scored 27 in 45 games last season 6 in 9 in europe as well.
3.) 13 Jul 2025 22:30:11
I can't believe that VP would sanction the sale of Andre and he's not only the Manager now but also a member of the newly formed 'transfer committee' for want of a better description.
Neither can I see even Jeff overruling him at the first opportunity so I would suggest that he will want to keep both.

Just saw a table for the minutes that each premier league gave to club trained players last season.
Liverpool were top with 17.5%. Wolves and Brentford were joint bottom with 0%
Makes you wonder what is the point of our Youth Academy.

Jhon Arias being linked today, I don’t know anything about him, reports are good, £40m ish is he good value? Mate of Andre so maybe Agent Andre on the case ??
2.) 10 Jul 2025 14:39:37
I've lost count of the players we've been 'plotting' 'planning' watching etc. and everyone so far have/are moving or staying put.
Arias is reported to be quality Banksy, but I know nothing about him, does anyone else without looking?
I don't take any of it as being factual and like longmynd I'm waiting until things happen, which I fear will be sometime yet.
3.) 10 Jul 2025 15:41:12
Beowulf,
Maybe this season will be different with the like of Okuduwu, Pond and Mane getting game time.
4.) 10 Jul 2025 17:15:27
We are battling other clubs for targets, none done yet.
What dies that tell you, smh
5.) 10 Jul 2025 17:52:54
I don't know anything about this guy, but generally when it's in the E&S it's fairly reliable unlike the clueless sports insider type rubbish.

Rest in Peace Diogo and Andre.
Such a sad loss to their family and football.

Being a pensioner and having a lot of time on my hands, I have been looking at the transfer figures for the last two financial years at Wolves.
Taking the financial year at wolves to be from the 1st June to the 31st May, in the financial year 2024 to 2025, Wolves had a surpus of +£40.2m.
In the current financial year starting on the 1st June 2025 we have received £95.5m for the sale of Cunha and Ait Nouri and have payed out £42m for Lopaz and Larsen.
This leaves us with us with a current surplus in this financial year of +£51.5m.
My question is will the £40.5m surplus from the last financial year be used to offset any operational losses for that year?
If it is, then how much of this year £51.5m will be available for new players?
My feeling is that with all the player now back from loan, Fosun will want to get a fair number of these off the books before bringing new players in!
Discuss.

The truth is it's almost impossible to know without being on the inside. Sometimes it depends on how the deals are done. There's whether the fees are paid in instalments, and how many instalments. There's the PSR Thing with length of contract dividing up the transfer fee into multiple years. Players both coming and going on load usually have fees attached. Then there's wages and agents fees.
It all gets way too complex for my brain.
2.) 02 Jul 2025 16:50:19
Wages a come into play, if we can get rid of a few high earners, that gives us a little more wriggle room (think Guedes, Silva and Semedo).
Talking of Semedo, his contract finished on Monday. Any ideas why it's very quiet?
Could it be that he hasn't said no to us, but is still waiting to see if he can get a better package elsewhere?
3.) 02 Jul 2025 18:35:02
Beowulf be careful that you don't conflate cashflow with profit and loss.
The sales - subject to trade terms - may well generate cash.
But in any case they will offset net debt - which obviously includes monies owed to clubs for transfers and vice versa. This is currently, May 2024, a frightening circa £300m.
However the principal reason the club makes these transfers is profit and loss - which sadly has very little to do with the gross transfer fee.
It is calculated as the surplus over the amortised value of the contract of the player sold.
Hence a home grown player sold for £35m makes £35m. But a player bought for £35m on a 5 year contract sold after 2 years for £50m only makes you £29m.
Wolves desperately need these profits as the pre player sales profits are totally out of control and way beyond the levels allowed under PSR.
It is a major worry that according to a so called "expert" Stefan Borson (Sp) we were so far in the mire that we had to move our accounting date so as to get Cunha added to the sales of Neto and Kilman just to survive.
Hard to believe that things are that bad but if you have read the accounts you will know we are in deep trouble and relegation could well be terminal for the club.
In any case unless things change dramatically we are almost certainly going to remain a major and forced seller in the market until relegation inevitably puts us out of our misery!
There that has cheered you all up
Tks Jeff!

"The Voice of Reason" has gone awfully quiet.

We will be fine Beowulf.
West Ham will falter as posters told us Kilman can’t play without Dawson.
If we can score three past Brentford then so can everyone else.
Southampton will finish below us.
Leicester aren’t very good and we are just five points below them which is only two wins.
Leicester beat Bournemouth so Bournemouth can’t be very good.
Ipswich will struggle.
We beat Manchester City last season and will beat them again after the international break with Dawson keeping Haaland in his pocket again.
Manchester City will be sanctioned and relegated ahead of us.
GON will walk out as he is not being supported by the club and Jeff Shi will take on the role of first team manager guiding us into Europe as Fabio Silva returns to the club as a converted centre half steadying the defence and stemming the flow of goals against.

? that's not reason, that's clear and utter madness, it's finally happened. The lunatics have taken over the asylum!

What are the odds of VP being Spurs Manager next season?

Love the satire Goatmark2.
Best laugh I've had for a while.

Who's Bruno Bueno?

Thanks Ed001 for clearing that one up.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

According to the Premier League Website it reopened on the 16th June 2025.
01 Jun 2025 22:19:38
We are only getting 21 Million for Cuhna this June, followed by 21 Million June 2026 and the balance in June 2027.
Are Fosun going to spend the whole 21 Million this window?
If all other transfers out are paid in installments then the funds available to VP will be somewhat lower than we need.
My gut feeling is that VP will walk before the start of next season
