Was reading an article earlier this week which mentioned that it is no coincidence that Wolves, West Ham, Forest and Spurs are all at the bottom of the table as the hierarchy want profit over performance.

It mentioned that all of these clubs have been turned down by higher standards of managers and players as they don't want to be at a club with no clear direction and that the only reason Di Zerbi signed at Spurs was that astronomical salary.

Congratulations Coventry on winning promotion to the Premier League.

Just goes to show what a club with owners who actually care can achieve.

Fosun, take note.

I'll second that, Goodwhile, coming up from Oxford we always used to go to Cov when the Wolves were away.
It just goes to show, not long ago they were playing 'home' games in Northampton, but with football club first leadership and a decent manager, they've romped back. Well done to them.

What a comeback success story at Coventry. To think, it seemed to be a natural move for Robbie Keane to leave Wolves for Coventry! Fast forward a few years, and they were without even a stadium to play in. Congratulations.

Yes, committed owners with local knowledge are vital.

There is no way that Fosun can make a difference at Wolves, with the present chain of command from far, far away. Unless Fosun are willing to sell us at a tax loss, they need to appoint autonomous local management, with a top-notch CEO. Maybe a leadership role for the likes of Robbie Keane?

Totally different subject, could anyone remember the name of the doorman at the Feathers pub? I had some good times before and after the game there.

Dunno, Les, and I dunno if we're talking the same chap here, but I used to go in the Feathers before every game, (sitting in the SB), but on one occasion we were playing Watford and I had a yellow rugby top with the old Town crest on underneath my black jacket.
The doorman stopped me, most probably hearing my Oxonian accent, until I showed him my Wolverhampton crest, whereupon he leant forwards, kissed the badge, and let me in.

He was a pleasant chap, and whether he recognised me afterwards or not, I don't know, but he always acknowledged me on arrival.
You asking his name sparked a memory, mate, happy days!

Saudi Arabia's public investment fund (PIF) is rumoured to be scaling back foreign investment in the LIV golf league and football, in favour of domestic priorities. Potentially bad news for Newcastle, which seems to be a repeat of China's block on foreign investment in football a few years ago, and we know where that led to at Wolves.

I expect an exodus of top players at Newcastle this summer and battling relegation next season.

If we do lose and are relegated this weekend, I hope Rob doesn’t come out and is all smiles for the post match interview. In my opinion, this does him no favours. When we lose and play poorly, I think he should come out and be annoyed and really disappointed, not smiling and laughing.

Maybe it is just me, but I don’t like it. Whatever all of our thoughts are on Rob and his abilities, I think he is here for the foreseeable.

When we went down in 2012, Terry Conner was tearful in his interview immediately after the fact. He didn't need his clipboard, just a box of Kleenex. Now, there was a man who clearly loved Wolves.

Better to see this, Deep, than all smiles.
Maybe they will surprise us and beat Leeds. Can't see it though, unfortunately.
Think the players are done now unless Rob can somehow motivate them.

In saying this, they should want to play well to achieve a better move in the summer.
Does anyone have any confidence in the planning that is going on behind the scenes for next season?

He should call out the players who play poorly. They ain't going to show any loyalty to Wolves, so why should the club show any to them if they are angling for a move?

I honestly think that the poor players will stay shtum in the hope they'll be kept on (God help us!).

Again the famous Old Gold are inexplicably making what could be the nail in our Premiership coffin in the teal change shirts, or 2nd strip as it's now called.
Obviously not a clash of colour in any way against the white kit of Leeds.
So, are we contractually obliged to change shirts for an amount of games? Have we a stack of unsold teal shirts to sell?
Does anyone on here know why?

It really bugs me, as it just seems to reduce our identity and lose our history. All the more ironic with our 150th anniversary coming up, and with reference to how players may or may not perform tomorrow, how does a player form an allegiance to a club when he's paraded in a selection of different colours whilst he is here.

It's my age and modern times, but the thought of Billy Wright etc turning out in teals, Brazilian blues etc., without need, is just laughable.

If and when we're down, planning should be about getting the club back, getting players to identify with our history and fan base, getting players to be proud to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers, proud to wear the Old Gold.
