You know something, we have a run of winnable matches coming up. Win them all and we have a great chance of European football. Forget the Villa game, if RAN had taken his opportunity we would have won.

31 Mar 2024 17:21:33
Also we have a game in hand too.

02 Apr 2024 09:32:48
Take your point Lostcity but this is Wolves we're talking about and winnable matches don't really exist do they? Coventry was very winnable but Stamford Bridge and Tottenham weren't!

31 Mar 2024 17:00:09
I know we lost yesterday, but results from teams around us went pretty much in our favour. 3 points against Burnley and hopefully Cuhna back, and Hwang, Dawson close our season could reignite. I honestly believe we get these three back fit, we're a match for most teams.

Are there any Wolves players close to a match ban due to excessive bookings. Four bookings vs Villa. We can't afford to lose players.

No doubt will come on gloating and being a plonker.

None of us expected anything tonight no senior strikers at all, we go again Tuesday.

Thanks for removing the name EDs I really shouldn't have named them, I think regular posters will know who though lol.

30 Mar 2024 21:18:40
Villa were nothing special today and we were not at the races but were the better side in the first half. RAN should have scored for sure. We definitely need to mix things up during the week and I would get Doc in and Bouba as he has great energy and Atleast Doc makes the runs and attacks. Didn’t expect anything from the Villa game but expect three points now during the game at Burnley.

31 Mar 2024 12:43:33
Wouldnt be suprised if we don't win another game this ssn.shame but that's how itis.we offer no goal threat atall. with4/5first team players out our squad just isn't good enuf. we play the top3 and bottom3or4 all with something on the line.be honest wer not getting into europe with this team.credit to gon for getting us this far

Not a pen for Newcastle 2nd IMO. Var taking a lot of time to state the bleeding obvious on the 1st. But fair play to the magpies coming back from 3-1 whilst losing players all over. Gordon is a s**t of a cheat with no need to be with his talents, should of gone long before he did. Great game tho Preston. Let's hope we can surprise and upset things tonight. COYW

30 Mar 2024 19:26:22
Utter xxxx,
Can't see us winning another game rest of season
Played as if it was 0-0.
Instead of 2-0 down
How sarabia is still on the pitch
God knows, should av been subbed first

30 Mar 2024 19:47:34
The defence just looks so poor without Dawson there to organise.

We need Cunha back ASAP.

30 Mar 2024 19:51:08
Got to agree greyleg we weren't showing any desire to get back in the game, but, I thought sarabia was one of our better performers tonight but his energy level dropped. At the start he doyle and samedo were winning things and creating things down the right but we hadn't got anything joining in the middle. I don't mind losing but we could have put a little more into it. Bring on west ham, I fear we may be caught at Burnley if we don't get some speed into our play. It's not season over yet though.

30 Mar 2024 19:57:31
Unbelievable, the criticism started, what is o Neil supposed to do when the squad is so stretched, we had no front line to speak of tonight, was always going to be a tall order to get anything from the game .

30 Mar 2024 19:57:43
Sarabia was still on the pitch cause there was no one else, we've run out of players! The fact that our bench is mostly academy players (most of which don't look ready) shows our complete lack of depth I'm afraid. The game was pretty even until the subs started and after that we had no chance and when you look at both benches it's pretty obvious why! I feel a bit sorry for GON to be honest, like the managers before him he's not being given enough tools to see the job through!
We need another big shake up this summer, we can't keep having players like Podence, Guedes and Fabio draining our limited wage budget whilst they play elsewhere. Each one of those players could have helped today but they don't want to be here so time to get um gone for good and use the wages to get players that do want to be here! It's a shame cause it feels like the season is just going to fizzle out and GON performance doesn't deserve that but he doesn't have the players. For the whole first half we are the better team but we never look like scoring cause after three seasons we STILL haven't signed an actual striker! Been a good season, better than we could have hoped for. But if we want to take the next step we need to do what Villa have done and build a decent sqaud rather than just a paper thin first team. Over to you GON and Hobbs 👍

30 Mar 2024 20:02:00
I think JL must be having a wry smile. Until we get back at least 3 of our injured senior players we can't compete at least with the top sides. Villa are a good side, but they looked so comfortable in the second half. My biggest concern is that the likes of RAN, Gomes etc start to get frustrated and get itchy feet.

30 Mar 2024 21:06:12
Bang on Bully's Boy. If you can't worry the opposition up front, then their defence bolsters their midfield. I thought we did well with limited resources, and I praise the youngsters for giving it a go, but with all three main strikers out it was a tough call.

30 Mar 2024 22:36:17
Come on folks, GON has so little to play with. Even if we only manage a win or two in the remaining fixtures he's done a great job. We did what we had to do to avoid financial disaster pre season, and if we stay up without jeopardy its more than we could have hoped for.

31 Mar 2024 06:39:30
You are the voice of reason Matty.
We have to remember, thanks to Shi, O'Neil has not signed a single player and had to work with a limited squad.
"Goals for" are going hard to find for the rest of the season.

31 Mar 2024 09:48:55
Matty is right, but it's so frustrating to have come this far (better than we all expected) for it too fizzle out due to lack of squad depth. We're paying or subsiding wages to 'senior' loan players out at other clubs who I believe are doing well. In addition we have a so called wonderkid winger 'Enzo' who we signed for £5Mill who's not even making the bench, even in these desperate times. GON has done remarkable really and I sincerely hope that whoever, gives him a good budget in the summer. Bin these players off who either don't want to be here &/or can't make the grade. What JL did was unforgivable and cowardly walking out on us but maybe in hindsight his ambitions exceeded that of Shi's. We have a great first 11/13 but after that as we see throwing in youngsters who aren't ready yet. Let's hope we get something out of the Burnley game.

31 Mar 2024 11:04:23
My question after the points made above and how well we've done in exceeding our expectations on such a small squad is that Burnley are fighting for their survival, have we got anything left for this year? Sure a win at Burnley would set up a 6 pointer against West ham but are we genuinely 'fighting ' for European football?

31 Mar 2024 11:22:48
Understand everyone's comments.
But can only say what you see in your opinions, we all want us to do well.
I'm just relieved we are where we are, and it is down to go, and his staff, I think every supporter is entitled to an opinion. Positive or negative, how they see it.
But in the end we all love wolves
So as long as we stick together

That's all that matters. To me anyway

The issues for me are:

Dawson is such a brilliant organiser. Kilman, Bueno and Toti are all good defenders but they will make at least positional mistake each per game which at the moment seems to being punished. Dawson has the experience to lessen this.

Up front, we do not have anyone who runs at and worries the opposition defence. What we have learnt over the last 3 or 4 games is that Fraser, Chiwera and Chiwome do not have the experience at this time. Cunha, Neto and Hwang all run at the defenders and panic them into making a mistake. Cunha is brilliant at moving the ball forward and dragging defenders out of position allowing the likes of Hwang, Neto, Lemina to take advantage.

Hopefully Cunha is back on Tuesday and Hwang not far behind him too.

Fraser, Chiwera and Chiwome may or may not prove to be the answer in the long term but it us clear that they need either to go out on loan to gain experience or need to play a bit part here by coming off the bench and playing alongside Cunha, Neto, Hwang to learn their trade.

31 Mar 2024 12:45:37
Sarabia is garbage.and must be replaced. he's had 10 good mins all ssn. gon seems reluctant to make subs when theyr needed just like nuno.and I wouldn't be suprised if we don't win another game too

31 Mar 2024 13:27:14
So Buxwolf, given the current injury list, who would you put in ahead of Sarabia?

31 Mar 2024 13:43:06
I really don't get the sarabia thing. IMO he's one who tries to instigate a move. Maybe he looks poor because others aren't on the same wavelength. Reference the youngsters, poor young chimera was wanting balls played to run on to, but we kept turning back, not very adventurous tactically? Or not having confidence in the lad to hold onto the ball, or not wanting to take players to support him from defensive positions? Whatever, we've got to get something worked out in a front line. Personally I think Europe isn't an aim now, its just get whatever points we're able. Burnley could well embarrass us tues, unless of course Dawson returns and cunha is deemed fit.
A win at Burnley could well light the touch paper again and drive the team to overtake West ham sat.

31 Mar 2024 18:10:44
I agree Abbey, I actually think Sarabia sometimes suffers because he's thinking/playing at a technically higher level than those around him. There was a classic example yesterday in the first half, where he played an filthy ball through three defenders that would have been perfectly well weighted for any player running down that flank. Sadly our players just watched it role towards the bye line! I accept he's pretty erratic and was otherwise pretty poor yesterday. But the lad has techinal ability and is capable of a class delivery (all be it once a game). He also has international caps and played for some pretty big clubs (PSG being the last one)! So agree we probs haven't seen his best but I don't think that's all on him 🧐

30 Mar 2024 06:10:07
Morning all, looking forward to this evening albeit with a bit of worry. Dawson missing is a big concern with regard organisation at the back, add to that our lacking up front and I've changed my mind on our prospects. In all honesty if we get the draw I'll be happy.
That said GOn will know what he's got and organise things accordingly, we can't set up as poorly as the Coventry game, (can we?).
It could be a tough night but hopefully the adrenaline will be pumping so who knows? We may pull off another coup. COYW and enjoy the game everyone.

30 Mar 2024 08:49:58
Dawson is a bit miss for us but I think that having Cunha back will be massive. His drives from the middle of the park draws the opposition defenders out which will allow Sarabia a bit more freedom and allow Lemina and Gomes to come just that little further forward.

Plus McGinn missing for them will allow the game to flow as he's a cheating little c**t who's always diving about. Luiz and whoever else plays in midfield for them will be dominated by Lemina and Gomes.

I'm going for my usual 3-1

30 Mar 2024 10:32:50
I agree Jas, 3-1, villa being the home side though. rumour has it we are due a win against ye 😀 best of luck, may the best team win 💪💪

30 Mar 2024 11:36:51
You're a decent bloke Whackattack. Hope you lose today but finish in the top four.

30 Mar 2024 12:23:37
I think today Villa will get their long awaited win against us, but I won't be too disheartened they are a very good team.
I've not gone for a bet today but if I had it'd be 2-1 Villa.

30 Mar 2024 13:28:22
I can’t see us winning today. Just have a feeling. Can’t expect much from Cunha right now and wonder how long he would last if started.
Start Doc up top? He did start out his career as a striker and he knows where the net is!

31 Mar 2024 13:14:47
Fabio Silva is the type of forward we needed yesterday-he's a good target man and he can hold up the ball.
Why on earth do we play our best midfielder on the left wing?
We were the better side for most of the first half and who knows what would have happened if RAN had put that extremely good chance away?

29 Mar 2024 09:17:32
Big game tomorrow.

No Dawson, Hwang, Neto or Bellegarde for us and Cunha may be lacking match fitness

The organisational qualities of Dawson will be a huge miss but hopefully the errors from the Coventry tie have been addressed.

No McGinn for them so midfield battle between Mario/Gomes v Luiz is crucial.

29 Mar 2024 14:27:17
Is this the official team news? I missed the press conference and can’t find team news anywhere. Needless to say the bbc are obsessing over Man City Arsenal so no room for news from the likes of us.

29 Mar 2024 15:21:40
The fact that Dawson, Bellegarde and Hwang haven't trained this week would suggest they are out. Neto we know is injured longer term but Cunha was back in training and GON has confirmed it's close regarding his availability.

29 Mar 2024 17:35:25
I haven’t been following training sessions either. Thanks for the insight.

29 Mar 2024 18:31:06
OMG, their queuing up for GO,
Man utd
West ham
England
Surely he's on his way. If true

29 Mar 2024 20:04:24
We've done OK agaisnt villa in the recent past.
I hope we can secure a result but going to be very difficult IMHO.

29 Mar 2024 20:55:29
A manager with less than 2 seasons Prem experience, I can't see him going anywhere soon.

He's not going to get a vote of confidence this week even if we lose to Villa tomorrow!

Surely it would be wise to get more experience under his belt before moving anywhere.

29 Mar 2024 22:06:10
I think Ard is correct in what he said on the rumours page, cause none of the links to GON seem that plausible (maybe WHU). Where as him wanting a new contract is VERY plausible (if not expected)! I don't think he's going anywhere to be honest, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he signs an (improved) new contract in the weeks to come 🧐

28 Mar 2024 15:32:49
Well Manchester United have said there is nothing in the GON rumour about them wanting him.

28 Mar 2024 15:43:23
Absolute insulting nonsense from ESPN Sport picked up by all the keyboard idiots.

28 Mar 2024 16:10:06
ESPN do it for clicks, they have been called out multiple times on X too.

28 Mar 2024 17:07:00
I was able to wind a MUFC supporting mate up off the back of it, every cloud.

28 Mar 2024 18:32:23
This is the reason I hate the media. They are free to write whatever they want no matter how liablous and there seems to be nothing anyone can do about it.

29 Mar 2024 06:42:49
Totally agree Jas.
"Freedom of the Press" seems to mean freedom to create whatever they like, in ALL reporting.
They should be held accountable, not just on Football matters.
Sadly we have weak leadership in the country and it is about to get much weaker!

27 Mar 2024 08:24:56
I'm looking forward to the Villa match. It would be typical Wolves if we beat them. Hopefully, Cunha will be back and I reckon he'll score a couple in a 2-1 victory.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2024 09:23:06
Yes. I feel optimistic about Vile away. Cuhna back, Dawson, Bellegarde (not that he's been in great form), but at least we can field players in positions where they're comfortable and effective. Having Cuhna back ( some who can go past players and push the opposition back) will be a massive boost. 1-2 also a Wolves win. Cuhna and Doyle (who comes on as sub to score the winner.

27 Mar 2024 09:24:06
I think with both teams having restricted preparation on the training ground from the international break having key players away will have an impact on the match.
Who will fair better from thi hopefully its us.
COYW

27 Mar 2024 11:53:57
The comment from a Villa fan on another site is that wolves always treat the derby as if it was a cup final!Blimey they don’t half big themselves up. Boring.

27 Mar 2024 13:54:23
Maybe they're worried fromewolf?, Trying to big it up. I reckon the pressures on them and we'll be able to build it up. I'm going 2-1 as well. COYW

27 Mar 2024 16:08:03
Fromewolf. Just another game for me. Yes it's a Derby but nothing more for me than either Forest or Leicester if they come back up. It might be a cup final for them. Obviously want to win, but I want us to win every game know matter who we play.
