So pre season tickets are 95 dollars. Then include booking fee and taxes. That seems obscene for a pre season friendly.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2024 06:52:42
That is really disgraceful vbwolf.
Sadly that is now, what was once the "beautiful game".money. money the only objective.
RIP the game many of us grew up with.

11 May 2024 08:27:12
How much is it to see a baseball or American football game normally vb? That really does seem extortionate for a British soccer friendly, albeit a tournament in name.

11 May 2024 11:01:57
Well for the local teams I can watch baseball for about 15 dollars. Even if I was to watch the bigger teams it wouldn’t be more than 40 bucks or so.

10 May 2024 16:49:27
I know what you mean Rated. But the Premier League will always protect their favourite 6 clubs as they are the most profitable to them. Wolves are trying to be run correctly and within the guidelines but the PL allows certain clubs to circumnavigate the rules.

Villa will have upset the cartel this season by finishing towards the top of the table. They will need to recompense for this so within the next 2 years, they will face a fine and points deductions for breaching PSR rules. All the while, Man City have in affect cooked the books and have 115 charges hanging over them which the PL still haven't dealt with and Man Utd and Spurs each have total debts of over £650m each.

But Forest overspend by £9m and they get deducted points.

{Ed001's Note - the Premier League is made up of 20 clubs who all have equal voting rights. If the top 6 acted as a cartel they would quickly get outvoted by the other 14.}

I know Ed. I'm over egging the pudding a bit but it does seem as though there is a bit favouritism about.

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more the perception of favouritism because of media spin. They only highlight what they want to, or people would be noticing that Man City never get big decisions against them.}

10 May 2024 18:22:55
Ed001, I value highly your opinions info and guidance. However on this issue there is a lot of smoke to suggest something of a cartel. Perhaps cartel is the wrong word, but there is ambition to create the Super League, generate more income from global TV as a result, and possibly in the future a protected franchise style arrangement. Personally I see the potential in VAR to influence outcomes on the pitch to aid results which benefit the plan. I would love to be here in 10 years to see if I am right. Or perhaps not.

10 May 2024 21:50:39
I've worked out the equation EPL + VAR + PSR = WWE.
PSR and VAR mean that that all results, all scores, outcomes/relegations can be scripted to suit the powers-that-be. We are headed towards "sports entertainment" folks.

11 May 2024 09:05:22
Ed001, I take your point on 20 clubs being in the prem and voting etc, but we need to be honest too, the clubs that bring in the money ARE the big '6', they have the biggest following and they are truly global in appeal. Money generated by the prem is fed back to the other 14 via position money and tv payments so its in the 14's financial interest to keep things in 'order' too, so there maybe a little reservation in voting against, and acceptance, albeit never openly, of the'big six' in theory. Wether VAR is in anyway assisting and maintaining that order is open to conspiracy theories that abound.
All I know is that there have been dubious VAR decisions and poor reffing decisions, this year in particular, have the top teams really benefitted? Or have we the lower teams suffered unduly? Whatever, the game as a whole has suffered as we knew it and seems to be doomed to be diminished further by the interference of profit over sport and in many ways the cream is being scraped of the top of the game as a spectator sport.

{Ed001's Note - and yet there is consistently split votes with the 6 and others voting against each other. There is no cartel, there are 20 clubs with an agenda that are only interested in what they believes benefits themselves. That's why the PGMOL can continue to ruin the sport with their ineptitude or match fixing, whichever it is. There is no cartel or big 6 v the rest. There are 20 selfish pricks who won't put aside their own agenda to do what is best for most, in essence.}

11 May 2024 09:50:33
From a Wolves perspective, can we say that VAR hasn't cost us?

Howard Webb has admitted this season that we should have had a penalty against Man Utd, Sheff Utd shouldn't have had a penalty, and Fulham shouldn't have had 2 penalties and that VAR/ref was wrong on each occasion. This has cost us 5 points.
If these calls were given as they should have been, then we'd be sat in 9th place on 52 points and pushing for a place in Europe and the extra revenue that brings. But instead, we are languishing in mud table with nothing to fight for.

These incorrect decisions are massively affecting clubs. Had the Liverpool one been given, they would be 1 point better off and still in the title race but the bigger picture is is that that one decision deflated and insenced the Liverpool players so much that they didn't remain calm enough to win the game.

So VAR is ruining our game, costing clubs money and so the League should get rid if it just as other leagues have.

11 May 2024 09:52:04
Well put Ed.

11 May 2024 11:09:13
VAR is not working that's clear and obvious.
But its the Premier league with all players paid a fortune.
In my eyes our players andvother teams players should never ever use VAR bad decisions agsisnt them to ruin their performances as has been spoken on here with man City penalty.
Makes me sick to the stomach that these multi millionaires of ours would do that.

Man utd first game of the season Cunha the main culprit missed hat full of chances That's the reason we didn't win that game. But this is forgotten its because if VAR.

11 May 2024 11:36:19
Your right of course Jas, but I don't know, maybe you do, how many decisions have effected other clubs around us. Certainly Forest felt aggrieved more than once and they'd perhaps be safe now, we may not have benefitted fully upto ninth, but the fact remains, as you say, VAR is ruining the game both as a competition and a spectacle. Get rid.

10 May 2024 11:47:58
Surprise surprise.

An Independent Key Match Incident Panel has found that Man City's 1st penalty against us last week was the INCORRECT call.

Bare in mind the detrimental effect this had on the team and how after such a decision, the team were probably scared to make a tackle due to Pawsons horrendous and now confirmed wrong decision, what action is going to be taken against Pawson?

The answer is: Nothing as the incident would only be scrutinised if it went against a Big 6 club.

10 May 2024 11:56:26
Howard Webb "We're sorry, hope this helps"

10 May 2024 13:16:40
About time Wolves grew a pair and kicked up a stink and took legal action against the Prenier league, both Forest and Brighton would back us, I suspect a few other clubs would too.

10 May 2024 17:00:41
When a penalty for an incident like that is given, then in my opinion the outcome of that game is predetermined. Corrupt Ref/VAR! What else can anyone conclude.
I don't waste my hard earned money going to the matches anymore although I have renewed my membership and been to 4 maybe 5 home games this season. Won't be going to any next season and when my sky sports subscription ends in August that's going too. I do have a 'stick' where I'll still watch any Wolves game I can, but I'm losing interest in the game overall now. Been going to the Wolves for over forty years and regardless of where I am it's the first result I look for and it still ruins my day/weekend if we lose. It's corrupt, simple as. Nothing will happen to the ref/VAR team covering that game, absolutely zilch. City get another hollow victory by a high margin because our players were just totally deflated by that poor penalty decision. Let's be completely honest that the standard of refereeing is appalling and those in control of VAR with all the technology at their fingertips is even worse. How they can be defended is beyond me.

10 May 2024 18:08:44
I don't intend to go to any games until at least October. This will have given the league a few weeks after the International break to see how the new and 'improved' VAR system is working. Why they had to wait for the International break I don't know but between August and September, we'll have the same pathetic system.

10 May 2024 18:13:25
It is beyond a joke now. With the same evidence, how can varied decisions be reached on a simple situation. The manner in which VAR is used by the PL is at odds with the experience in other sports. This suggests complete incompetence or interference with decisions.

11 May 2024 11:38:37
If our players who are wealthy beyond any of our dreams are putting chances away defending with less individual mistakes then VAR wouldn't be so frustrating and as a bigger issue to you guys as it is.

The astronomical amount players are paid these days is the bigger issue for me.

12 May 2024 11:06:19
For me forson out and Rob Edwards in IN

10 May 2024 11:00:22
How do you think Wolves will line up on Saturday. Nothing to lose, Does O'Neill give some youngsters a run or field his strongest eleven. Palace have improved under their new coach so it won't be easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2024 11:10:40
I'd say he'd like a strong finish as it is the last game of the season at The Molineux.

10 May 2024 19:07:45
I think after last week's result and this being our last home game I think he'll go with our strongest 11, hopefully for a home win.

11 May 2024 06:49:58
Strongest possible of course. Each finishing position is worth millions and if we lose to Palace there's every chance they'll finish the season above us. The "youngsters " have had plenty of games in recent weeks!

11 May 2024 08:12:29
Old Wulf spot on.

10 May 2024 07:27:23
Interesting to see West Ham being linked with every Sevilla player Wolves were previously linked with when JL was our manager.

Upshot: nonsense stories.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2024 08:48:39
Too true Jack
One I read that tickled me was Fabio Silva could go to West Ham as he hotbon with lopetegi, you couldn't dream them up they that such nonsense.

10 May 2024 09:22:40
Typo,
hotbon should of been gets on .

10 May 2024 10:12:00
Personally, I hope the Kilman to West Ham rumour is true.

11 May 2024 08:28:32
I share your view Jas. Without some leadership alongside, like Coady or Dawson, he doesn't shine. £40million would be a useful contribution to the transfer funds. I also would like to Semedo moved to Saudi for silly money and I think the manager feels the same about Sa.

09 May 2024 16:37:53
Excited to get to a Pre season game living close to the location for the west ham game is. Be interesting to see how they do in the USA

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2024 06:20:14
A good PR exercise vbwolf.glad you will get to see them live!
On a different tact, with Villa losing last night, the myth the Premiership hierarchy like to project, that it is the "Best League in the World". is exposed. No Premiership side in any of the European Finals.even the 3rd tier!
It is a mess, VAR, Club Ownership, FFP, devaluing the FA Cup etc etc.

10 May 2024 08:46:59
I wouldn't like it to be cancelled like it has been last few years.

Fairplay vb if you can go and see us.
COYW

10 May 2024 11:15:11
It's a mess alright rugeley, they tinkered with things not broken and shattered it, will they let it rebuild, will they let teams and players play the game instead of interference? No. They'll carry on rummaging around to extract more cash from the crock.
Back to USA its obviously a PR visit but it should be a good tester for GON to assess and identify players. Brings my memories back to the newcastle man city tournament we won in Asia, patricios cut head and penalty saves, enjoyed watching that, hope this will be available too and everyone hotbons phil.

Not footie, but one for the biker fans, I think there are some Wolf Bikers. I am currently travelling through France in the Ardeche, Auvergne and part of the Cevennes. All very mountainous with fantastic views, plenty of hairpins and sweeping curves. Frequented by many bikers of a certain age having a ball. I wondered if any on here had ridden this way. Longmynd, Ken etc

08 May 2024 17:38:19
Lucky you. I and my brother went down that road 1980. From Paris to Marseille. The last ride in France was down the N85 Napoleon route a couple of years ago. Have a nice ride. Keep on the right side of the road.

08 May 2024 19:09:09
WimborneWolf. I’m not a biker, never have been. But I envy you having that freedom and scenery. I think I speak for all Wolves fans on here, when I say - enjoy yourself, but please take care in those hills and hairpins. Ride safely buddy,

08 May 2024 22:40:39
Hi Wimbourne, sounds like you're enjoying your trip. I think I drove that road many years ago but sadly not on a bike. Maybe I'll get to do it on two wheels one day as I've been thinking about a good overseas ride.

Plenty of good rides here in the meantime so looking forward to a better summer than last. Plus, my bike isn't exactly what you might consider to be a tourer, lol.

09 May 2024 10:35:04
My daily bike had a breakdown just before leaving home so I used my BSA spitfire down to Corfu. Just don't tell your bike it's not a touring bike and it will be ok.

09 May 2024 20:30:56
Few years ago we did the Pico's in Spain back into Santander then through the Pyrenees into France. Had a great time. Ferry back Cherbourg to Poole.
Last year and one for you to consider. We did Black forest Germany B500 Baden Baden through Switzerland, along many of the passes. Austria, Belgium, then back via Holland. Again, great riding. There's also the Wild Atlantic way which is great, and of course Scotland, which is fantastic.

10 May 2024 07:36:14
A Spitfire, now there's a proper bike.
