Marshall Munetsi and Nasser Djiga have both arrived in Paris and began their #Wolves medicals. ? ?

Lemina's gone to Galatasary. Not sure of fee.

2.5mil I've seen reported.

E&S reporting H Bueno going on Loan to Feyornord (sorry about the spelling). I think Bueno is great, but this must mean that we're keeping RAN for at least another season.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 10 Aug 2024 07:40:42
I agree BW1 but am more concerned about this development than the sale of Neto (which we all sensed was happening in this window).
Now we have lost for 2024/25, Neto, Kilman and Bueno. They are all left-footed and all possess excellent left-footed pass and cross skills.
If RAN gets injured (currently) he will be covered by a right-footer. It feels to me that we need to add a left-sided player with a sweet left-foot to restore some balance to the squad.

2.) 10 Aug 2024 09:58:33
Who is now the back up LB?
Toti? Surely not Doherty?
Transfer window is still open but after losing 2 players yesterday we now have lots to do.
We have bought 1 player who should, (R. Gomes although potentially a major downgrade on Neto?), start but lost 2.
When it comes to depth as well we have sold 3 first team squad members and bought 3, (Doyle was alrady here).
It all looked so good on Thursday just a new starting CB and maybe if greedy a back up CB and GK.
Now you have to add a back up LB and potentially a starting WF?
When ever we start to build a good team we make a major error and cut our own legs off!
Just imagine if we hadn't paid to get rid of Jota, (the swap for Fabio and Hoever costs us millions pa!).
Jota, Cunha, Neto
Mario, Gomes
RAN, Toti, Dawson Yerson (or Kilman) Semedo
Sa
Is not a Europa side but a Champions league one!
Of course if the club was run properly from a finanical point fo view ( or we hadnt bought Guedes!) we could still have Neves as well!
If and but the two greatest players to play the game.
But self inflicted.
Only two/three players different from what we can still put out this year but our best 2 and both at the sharp end where the game is won and lost!

3.) 10 Aug 2024 11:52:26
All valid points TFIOG but maybe things might look a little different after 2 or 3 purchases in the next few weeks? I just hope the replacements aren’t all youngsters and we fall into the Southampton trap of 2 years ago.
Clearly the powers that be have looked at the Brighton model and thought ‘let's get a bit of that’. The difference for me is that I suspect we have gentlemen’s agreements to let certain players leave in certain windows and the buying clubs benefit from having the likes of Mendes advertising the fact rather than have our players being head-hunted at highest prices.
My feeling is that RAN and J Gomes will be offered out next summer and they’ll be aware of the fact and push for it eventually. Looking at the prices we are consistently receiving for some very good players, you have to worry that we’re a bit lacking in financial and commercial acumen.
Also has GON been rewarded with a pay rise and contract extension for a good 12 months’ work or because he is willing to work happily under the constraints of consistently losing his finest tools?

4.) 11 Aug 2024 13:59:21
NES - great to see you posting again. Don't disagree with anything you say, certainly with respect to not buying exclusively unproven kids from overseas - for every Neto there is a Fabio.
But will we buy any proven experieinced Prem players? I very much doubt it nor probably can we afford to do so, (often), as other clubs tend not to sell cheaply.
However if Toney is really available for £30m (?) we should have bought him yesterday!
With Cunha injured, (how long for?), I don't see where the goals come from - fear Hwang was a never to be repeated purple patch, Larsen looks well off the pace and none of the others, Guedes, Sarabia, Fabio, Sasa, Podence or Gomes R have a track record of scoring regularly in the Prem.
And at the back if we think Doherty, (until Semedo returns at least), Yerson and Toti are 3 of a Prem back 4 we are deluuded. (Surely given our weakness at CB we have to play 5 at the back and pray that Dawson recovers - or perhaps buy a new CB of his ilk!)
We are seemingly expecting Yerson and Gomes R to do a lot of heavy lifting this season
With 5 days to go to the start of the season it is v hard not to acknowledge that the squad that finished 14th last year is now no deeper but a lot weaker! Note as well that we only finished that high as Neto, (and to some extent Dawson), carried the team for a few months - see last year's results for the veracity of that statement.
I, unlike the bookies and many other "experts", don't actually think we are likely to down as we still have a number of high quality players albeit the squad is too small and dreadfully unbalanced - shock horror!
But we have hugely increased that risk and the £50m "excess" cash that we now have following the sale of Neto is lost in a few weeks in the Championship.
I hope we aren't penny wise pound foolish!

5.) 11 Aug 2024 15:57:29
In 5 seasons Neto made 111 appearances for us 51 of those came in the last 3 seasons, I can see the clubs thinking but would have rather left the sale until January to see if Gomes establishes himself first.

6.) 18 Aug 2024 11:57:34
Agree with many points above, running cost of club is huge, and yes we have the money from prem league
But it doesn’t cover it all and buying younger gifted talent before the rest, and developing them to full potential and making sales in profit is a huge part of the gamble. The issue with these players is when it doesn’t click and there value actually goes down and the huge wages they on whilst with have them drifting the wilderness is one of the biggest black holes in our finances. Ref (Fabio Silva) we lost a fortune when you take is wages into account and that’s just one player.

You want to make a positive change and impact for future and build a module to sustainably compete on top half of the league, then the ground needs to be redeveloped to a larger capacity and the football attractive. That is the foundation on which success and profitability can be built.

We have the fan base and future generations will be attracted to the club with a more attractive football leading to fans for life.

05 Aug 2024 22:20:09
Seems to have gone very quiet regarding Fabio. Plenty of rumours surrounding Podence, Guedes, RAN, Neto, Hodge, Cundle, H Bueno, but nothing on Silva. Very strange.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 06 Aug 2024 06:59:09
Silva has so far cost Wolves circa £50m, including wages.
Shi extended his contract until 2026, so he can sit and collect another £8million as it stands.
This was a signing the CEO saw as his personal "project".

2.) 06 Aug 2024 08:20:20
Depends on which reports you believe.

Some say he's on £80k a week, others say £42k a week. The truth is, unless we see his wage slip or bank balance, we just don't know.

3.) 06 Aug 2024 09:28:53
I was thinking much the same thing Wandering.

4.) 07 Aug 2024 12:08:23
Where have you read that Rugeley, that Fabio was Jeff's personal project?!

5.) 07 Aug 2024 13:54:18
He said it in an interview once I think bullysboy, said something like it was his call to sign Fabio. Luckily he leaves those sorts of decisions to someone else now.

6.) 07 Aug 2024 16:15:07
Bully, when Silva first went out on loan, the E&S reported Silva saying that our CEO was very close to him, phoning him on a regular basis to see how he was feeling.
Now, you will have to look back to find that article, but it is definitely there!

7.) 07 Aug 2024 16:17:35
Yes, Goatmark, we have moved on, thank goodness. Hobbs and O'Neil doing a fine job on the footballing front.

8.) 07 Aug 2024 16:48:34
As you'll read on the Banter page I think the decision to sign Fabio was FAR more likely to be driven by Nuno and his best mate Mendes (who made a small fortune on it)!
Calling a young lad who's living in a different country to their home to ensure their well being is not something to berate someone for is it?!
I seriously doubt Jeff had even heard of Fabio until Nuno and Méndes suggested it?! As I've always said Jeff's biggest flaw was putting too much trust in Mendes!

9.) 07 Aug 2024 18:38:09
I know I am one of a small minority, but Fabio is still a Wolves asset. We have just one striker recently signed, who by the way has not found the net in pre season. So unless we are to sign a back up then Fabio can still be useful. The alternative is spend money we haven't got and gamb!e all over again.

10.) 07 Aug 2024 18:54:37
Oh Bully.

11.) 07 Aug 2024 19:54:57
Oh Rugeley! Fun game this! ?

12.) 07 Aug 2024 20:06:18
"It does not have to be to do with the cost of the player. It is about what you see in them and what you see a little bit ahead of them."

Nunos own words Rugeley the season we signed Fabio. Now I know that this is tricky for you cause it doesn't fit your 'Everythings Jeffs fault' rhetoric but this is a lad that was at Porto (Nunos old club) and was represented by Méndes. But I'm sure your right I'm sure it was all Jeffs suggestion! Priceless ??

13.) 08 Aug 2024 06:48:58
Relax, Bully, relax. The footballing side of the Club is now in good hands.

14.) 08 Aug 2024 08:11:50
Not sure I've seen the words asset and Fabio in the same sentence before Ray!Couldn't even hack it with Ranges remember and was criticised from all quarters for his diving and cheating antics.

15.) 08 Aug 2024 08:33:48
Perfectly relaxed fella just bored of reading stuff that's been entirely made up to suit a witch hunt/agenda is all ??

16.) 08 Aug 2024 16:08:14
Although Larsen hasn’t scored in pre season he has set up three goals and looked good. Holds the ball up well and is strong and works hard.

05 Jun 2025 14:58:33
Looks like RAN is going to Citeh according to the E&S. That's p**sed me off more than Cuhna TBH. RAN's excellent and unlike Cuhna just gets on a does his job. I'm generally quick to defend player sales as a way of improving our squad quality and depth but this is getting beyond a joke. I hope nobody comes in with big bids for Andre and Gomes as at this rate I'm not sure Fosun wouldn't sell.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 05 Jun 2025 15:37:45
Same here Blackfords, £33m as well, one of the best wingbacks in the league surely that’s not enough, unless we having a player as well, but doubt it.

2.) 05 Jun 2025 16:31:20
It is hard to fathom Blackfords, especially with what we are seeing and hearing about the clubs alleged change of direction. Given that you would think they would draw a line under selling Cunha and actually stop selling off any more of our best players.

Let's hope Gestifute have a few aces in their hand because that's a £100M worth sold off already. To sell RAN is bad enough, but for £33M is ridiculous, plus Doyle for £3M, why?

I wonder if they've got any nice cars for sale

3.) 05 Jun 2025 16:48:12
It's pathetic, when the rumour first broke the E and S said we valued at £50m, which seems about right for a negotiating position. Sadly we seem to have no one at the club that can actually negotiate, I wonder if this is REALLY why Hobbs is going. Because it must be pretty soul destroying to watch Jeff consistently sell off your squad for pence on the pound! I really am sick of it, we have become a laughing stock! And before anyone says 'yeah but was he that good' well CLEARLY the answer is yes because that's precisely why City want well! Well that and that laughably low fee! Fuming ?

4.) 05 Jun 2025 17:24:53
Can’t believe it really BullysBoy, thought maybe I had it wrong but seen it again, £3m for Doyle, Sunderland interested and others, £33-£34m for RAN. At this rate someone may as well offer a pathetic fee for others like Andre or Gomes, terrible business, who decides the fee, need to give their heads a wobble ???. Not impressed at all, hope the news is wrong and we see sense ?

5.) 05 Jun 2025 18:10:00
Update on Skysports transfer - no contact from Citeh so far. Wolves will not be interested in any figure below £50m+

6.) 05 Jun 2025 18:58:26
Excellent Penkowolf hope this is the case ??

7.) 05 Jun 2025 19:46:01
Penko.hope this is kosher. Ran is worth all of £50m. I will be very sorry to see him go. His stats are good and he worries defences, suits our style. Please keep him.

8.) 05 Jun 2025 20:06:55
Hope so too Penko. Surely there's enough 'Deadwood' that we can move on to raise a few million without selling another one of our more creative players.
I was just reporting the E&S story which maybe naively expected to be accurate being the local news media.

9.) 05 Jun 2025 22:12:54
My thoughts exactly Blackfords as I thought those leaving had pretty much picked themselves and there's quite a few of them, so let's hope the E&S has got it wrong. Maybe not the move but the £'s as I always thought Wolves were adamant on their valuation.

01 Jun 2025 16:33:54
Finally the Cuhna saga has been completed. Not pleased that he's gone, but it seems to have dragged on and on and IMO become a distraction for the team. Let's hope we get a few early signings now.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 01 Jun 2025 17:04:48
E&S reporting that we are in for two number 10's, two fullbacks, a midfielder and a striker. If we're looking at decent players in the €20-€30M ballpark then I can only guess we will be selling RAN because I can't see Fosun providing the Cunha cash plus another €50M, considering the cash provided in January was more than most of us would have thought.

2.) 01 Jun 2025 17:43:35
Just seen that Pikey Wolf, hope we see some business soon, would make everyone feel a bit more optimistic that VP will be backed. Happy that Cunha saga over but not happy to lose a fantastic player.

3.) 01 Jun 2025 19:25:51
With you there Banksy, a decent early signing now would show some intent for next season and help to put some worries aside.

10 May 2025 15:54:35
I know it's only HT and may yet eat my words, but Guedes is definitely NOT the answer.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 10 May 2025 17:45:39
Well lacked a cutting edge and urgency, abit of passion gone?.
Must take anything off brighton tho they defended with discipline and awareness.
Guedes as played his last as a starter I think blacksford, he didn't set the brighton back l8ne any real problems, but in fairness they knew what they were up against without larsen. His absence was a big loss today, and his presence too late.
Why we don't just shoot sometimes I don't know.
I'll mention munetsi today he just dosnt stop running, it's a shame he can't find the target when the opportunity comes.
Not too disappointed, it's seasons end, bit I'd like to have seen us create more.

2.) 10 May 2025 17:56:27
Most of us worked that out a couple of years ago but we've a fair few others of the same ilk.Big summer beckons.

14 Apr 2025 06:15:54
Did anyone watch MOTD2? The post match commentary was a joke. I don't think we were mentioned once. Just how poor Spurs were. Talk about bias.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 14 Apr 2025 07:00:54
Spurs were poor, but we were very much the better side. Well done coaching staff and players, a fully deserved win!

2.) 14 Apr 2025 07:33:15
Last on the show as well Blackfords, they were probably hoping everyone had gone to bed before that.

3.) 14 Apr 2025 08:47:09
I don't bother watching MOD, Blacksford, I've watched the half hour of the game on SKY with a neutral commentary. It's fair to say spurs were poor and the goals somewhat clumsy apart from Larsen and Cunha finishing. Sure spurs changed the side around, yes they've got Europe on their minds, but you create your own luck.

we pressed them forced and made things from their mistakes and deserve recognition in those respects. Semedo's mistake doesn't get the same comments as the young lad who Cunha robbed or their defender the RAN robbed, but there you are, were just a club from the Midlands who don't command the viewing figures as those clubs in the supposed 6.

It made laugh at one report saying spurs had lost at 'struggling' wolves, last time I looked spurs are one place and 2 points better off. Roll on the non struggling 15th position and above.

4.) 14 Apr 2025 09:27:06
Haven’t watched it yet but the papers are all about how dreadful Spurs were. Very little if anything about us. No change there then.

5.) 14 Apr 2025 17:29:31
I dislike the national media intensely for many of the reasons cited, but to be fair to MOTD, the week before they eulogised over Wolves for the way they defeated Ipswich and Lineker interviewed Pereira, so there has to be an editorial evening up, and let's be honest Spurs were awful.

12 Apr 2025 18:33:34
Seems Cuhna's at it again. Cryptic messages and upsetting some of the fans. When will these players learn.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 12 Apr 2025 19:44:19
If people misunderstand then that's their fault not his. At no point has he mentioned that he intends to leave.

2.) 12 Apr 2025 21:09:00
Alright Cunha made a mistake and has been punished. He is our most talented player and me personally would have him back in the team at first opportunity. So come on let's give him a big cheer, he's served his suspension and deserves our support.

3.) 12 Apr 2025 21:36:19
Why do it then. You know people interpret things differently.
PS: at no point has he mentioned he intends to stay either.

4.) 12 Apr 2025 23:17:29
I personally feel that the media are a disgrace. They just make up rumours for clickbait and likes.

The most recent example of this was during the International break when it was reported that Cunha was moving to Newcastle as he had been texting Guimaraes and Joelinton. Then he was off to Man Utd as he'd texted Casemiro, then came Arsenal and Gabriel and Martinelli and then finally West Ham as Paqueta had been texted by him. What the media failed to disclose was that maybe, just maybe he was contacting his international team mates.

5.) 13 Apr 2025 03:54:44
Nah Judah and Keen stirring the pot again, Cunha in the past has pulled Keen up for his stirring, it's high time E+S got rid of those two clowns tbh.

6.) 13 Apr 2025 07:01:22
I tell you what Rated, the only reason I access the E&S site is to exchange views with the other Posters.
The Journalists working on Wolves, just cover superficial story lines. I believe they should be holding the Club Owners "feet to the fire" on the right sort of topics like; their plan for the Club, stadium development, employing a pro-active CEO etc etc.
Not going to happen though, not the right calibre.

7.) 13 Apr 2025 07:59:41
So cunhas deleted the post now everybody and more have seen it and been made aware of it. Personally I just read a straightforward statement that he was looking after number one, as we all do. Loyalty, or no matter how much to buy it, is a thing of the past. Players want to win gongs and play in major tournaments and only a few clubs get their players into those scenarios. Our beloved wolves arnt, I'm afraid, one of them. So it's bleeding obvious cunha, and others will go and we as a club take the money saying thank you.
How it's reported is another thing, clickbait or just topical stirring to sell a paper, link or blog.

VP knows the situation, he's not putting our prime asset in the starting line up today, (I say asset because I don't think he is our most talented or best team player), and I don't think he will for the other 6 games either.

We know he'll be going, he knows he'll be going what's the story? He's being honest in that respect. Surely we can be honest to ourselves too?

8.) 13 Apr 2025 10:01:03
It is not what you say but what you do, I am not interested in what any player has to say only that he gives his all on the pitch. There are to many Vloggers who think that they are the only fans that count
and post anything that will get them more clicks and more money, non of them represent me and do not speak on my behalf, take note M S M.

9.) 13 Apr 2025 13:45:14
He also replied to Talking Wolves which most didn't post in their witch hunt that "Let's do the following in common we have the Wolves that I love so much."

10.) 13 Apr 2025 14:35:19
I think the post was aimed at the media. He even played in his wolves gear. Media trying to make something out of nothing

Pretty sure those going to the game will support the team, but hope they vent their frustrations at Shi so that both Guo and Shi are left in no doubt about the perilous position Shi's inability to operate a football club has left us in.

Absolutely. If true this will indeed be a good test of Fosun's ambitions and commitment. I would hope that Fosun back VP as they did in the January transfer window and also that VP wants to stay and build on what he achieved last season and test himself in this league.

Hi LMW,
I remember when I first saw HB play for us. He was excellent. Went past players and a good crosser of the ball. The last few times I saw him before he went on loan (under GON) I think. He was disappointing. Never went past anyone and constantly passed back. Hopefully we'll get the player I first saw.
