nobody talking about Sanson then? Considering you are talking to Marseille about him now.

Ed001

1.) 21 Jul 2019 15:20:42
Where did you read this Ed001? I can’t find anything online (barring past articles)

{Ed001's Note - from the lady who does Marseille's negotiations, via Ed002.}

2.) 21 Jul 2019 18:33:44
Not exactly a Super Dave Edwards is he Ed. And we’ve already got a number 8.

3.) 21 Jul 2019 18:37:24
None of us are ITK that's why.

4.) 21 Jul 2019 20:10:49
We already have a no.8 have you heard yourself vino? We need back up players you know, i'm sick of so called fans like you being negative at potential signings.

5.) 21 Jul 2019 23:12:09
Sanson is a goalscoring industrious midfielder, exactly what we are missing. Neves, Donk, moutinho, saiss and even Gibbs=white are good link up players but don't bomb foward to finish the move off.

6.) 22 Jul 2019 00:44:26
A bit like Super Dave Edwards but not as good with his head.

7.) 22 Jul 2019 03:49:26
Interesting that there are no wingers being linked with Wolves, considering two senior wingers were sent out on loan (with a view to buy)

{Ed001's Note - it is difficult to find things out from the Wolves side, usually you can get info from the agents involved, who want to get as many clubs involved as possible for their client's sake. In Wolves case, the agent has a vested interest in just getting the players into the club quietly and quickly, so it closes off one of the main avenues for getting info from. While Jorge Mendes is a nice guy who will happily chat if you bump into him, he is a clever man and does not give out info unless he wants it known. So the only real route to finding info is the selling team, which makes it a lot more difficult. That is why so little is known about Wolves' moves. They could have 20 wingers lined up and it would be unlikely anyone in the media would get wind of it, unless they are lucky enough to have someone in the selling club giving them info.}

8.) 22 Jul 2019 09:14:04
I didn't think we actually played with wingers now, that was this issue with CAv and Costa, they weren't good enough to fill in up front for Raul and Jota. Our only real winger is Adama and it looks as though Nuno is converting him to wing back, if succesfull he will be devestating.

9.) 22 Jul 2019 10:47:07
I agree with Wolfypete11 we have an excellent midfield but none are attackers even Neves only scores long range a mf like De Bruyne or Shaqiri or even Dele Alli would work well - even as a sub like Traore.

10.) 22 Jul 2019 12:35:23
Cooler boy is correct. Out and out wingers are redundant with Nuno's preferred system of 3-5-2. Shame about Cav and Costa, to my mind they would give us options when we find it difficult to break down lesser teams who park the bus.

Sorry Ed001, we won't have 20 wingers lined up. Mind you, I've counted about 20 whingers recently complaining about the lack of signings!

In Nuno I trust. Three matches against Man City since we joined the PL, lost one, drew won and won one! The signings will come.

{Ed001's Note - I wasn't saying you have, I was saying it is very unlikely anyone in the media would know.}

11.) 23 Jul 2019 12:51:52
Very unlikely anyone would know in the media, Ed001 as you say. The media seems to be guessing 95% of the time. The worst news site to my mind is HIPC.

What keeps me interested (and other fans too I guess) is that we might be reading the odd report that's on the money 5% of the time.

Personally I think the new contract for VP should be delayed by a couple of weeks, hopefully by then we have managed to play better and win a couple of games. If we lose the next few VP will be under pressure and in my opinion his position will become less secure. I hope we can play either Lopez or Arias, or perhaps both on Saturday, we need to create more, lose v Leeds and we are in a lot of trouble.

2.) 18 Sep 2025 18:43:25
I have to be honest Banksy (whilst I understand the club's POV) I also think the timing could be dangerous. Cause if we don't start picking up points (and it HAS to be this wkend) then we are in trouble. Worried that we might get into a similar position as we did with GON, which even Jeff now acknowledges was left to role on for TOO long! I do think VP is a good manager mind, just need to start picking up those points this wkend (preferably all three) COYW ?

3.) 18 Sep 2025 19:40:37
We really need a win Saturday BullysBoy, surely he will start Lopez or Arias rather than Hwang ??

It is a shame we are in this position again, VP seemed fantastic last season, if we had got signings in early maybe things would have been better in these last 4 games. Unfortunately, as always, VP will take the blame not Jeff, correctly or not. Doesn’t help when it is suggested that VP is happy with the signings and they were his choice. Also, not brilliant to come out complaining that he had only 8 players to work with, realise this is probably the case but very negative even before the game on Saturday. Starting to appear like GON more and more, VP to me looks like he is under pressure and the stress is clear. Win v Leeds is very important, if VP starts with the same 11 and our play is slow at the back we will be lucky to achieve a draw.

2.) 15 Sep 2025 11:06:09
I wouldn't believe the 'VP got the players he wanted' mantra given the number of transfer rejections we got this Summer Banksy.

If for whatever reason VP did get replaced at some point this season that would be 6 'Managers' in 5 years so maybe the true reasons lie elsewhere.

Personally, I can't see it because after promoting him to Manager surely Jeff/Fosun must be thinking longer term.

3.) 15 Sep 2025 12:12:17
Can we be 100% sure that the players rejected the move to the club or was it just media speculation? We'll never know the truth but all we can do is get behind those that are here at the club.

4.) 15 Sep 2025 13:03:27
Absolutely. Get behind VP and the players we have.

5.) 15 Sep 2025 13:05:54
Wandering Star a player is going to sign for the club who offers him the best deal/most money.
Wolves were reported to be paying JSL £15k per week and so if that is our benchmark who are we going to attract to the club?
All of the top earners at the club were disposed of in this window and so yes it is likely true that our targets were offered less money than they could achieve at other clubs and so turned us down.
We can get behind them and give them our support but we can’t make championship level players into Premiership level players.

6.) 15 Sep 2025 14:38:53
FTP. Remember JSL was unproven in the PL. That contract for 15k was probably an increase from what he had before. His value obviously went up once he scored 14 goals for us last season. He will get a new contract to pay him more now. We are paying Hwang more and getting very little for it. Which is the better option?

Also, I have no problem with his original 15k pay as he is the one who agreed and signed the contract.

7.) 15 Sep 2025 14:46:30
Uche was not offered more money to play for Palace. That deal fell apart because of Mendes messing stuff up and trying to line his own pockets causing the player and agent to be upset at wolves. I am sure he has had his hand in other things too so not sure why we still use him.

8.) 15 Sep 2025 14:51:07
I will always and forever support our team, all very frustrating as many of us did see this situation coming throughout the summer. Long, you are probably correct with all the constant change of management, problems lie elsewhere. Disappointed, we didn’t have a shot on target 2nd half, sad to say, maybe not, I turned off after 70 mins or so, was hoping things would change. We really do need 3 pts v Leeds, not convinced we will achieve this, hope we do, and if so kick on, thanks all for our ongoing discussions ??

9.) 15 Sep 2025 15:07:13
NJ Wolf you didn’t answer the question of who are we going to attract to the club when we are paying less in wages than our competitors?

10.) 15 Sep 2025 15:26:06
FTP. We have always paid less that the bigger clubs and I don't expect that to change. We just got several new signees, so why did they sign if we are paying them so little?

Regardless, paying players huge salaries doesn't always work out either. Look at our problems with Fabio, Guedes and others were getting big paychecks and not much to show for it.

I would rather pay players less to start and have them prove themselves and then reward them with bigger paychecks, like we will do w JSL.

11.) 15 Sep 2025 16:04:26
WAY too many assumptions made on this site!

JSL was getting paid £15k whilst on loan last season which was a big pay rise on the £9k he had been on at Celta. He is now on a £95k contract!

We don't pay Championship wages. Wolves currently have an annual of £72.4 mil, The best paid club in the Championship last season were Leeds with a per season wage of £59.3m, Leicester are the current highest paid on £41.9m!

Most of what you read in the media is utter tripe, Uche did not go to Palace for more money, he currently gets paid £30k. 5 of our new signings are getting paid more than this!

12.) 15 Sep 2025 16:09:22
NJ Wolf I think we need TFIG to let the club know about the economic consequences of relegation and the false economy of paying less wages than our competitors thereby attracting less quality signings some of who may come good and we manage to sell on for a profit and others who fall by the wayside.
This may be the January window when we are too far adrift for our panic buys to make a difference to our league position and a change of head coach would be futile.
The three promoted clubs are looking stronger than the three who were relegated and look like they are up for the challenge.

First The Points

13.) 15 Sep 2025 16:24:07
FTP. We pay Premier wages! We rank 15th for annual wages paid. Do some research!

14.) 15 Sep 2025 16:54:43
Perfectly said molineuxway!

15.) 15 Sep 2025 18:45:39
Mol away I did some research and according to Give Me Sport Wolves are 19th in the PL with a total of £41.1 million.

First The Points

16.) 15 Sep 2025 20:45:02
FTP. Well done for doing some research. Give Me Sport is not a reputable source though, those figures are incorrect but assuming they are correct you've proved your previous comment incorrect, even 19th highest Premier wage is still a Premier league wage!

Give me sport state that Hwang is our highest earner, there are 7 players paid more than him.

Some of our new signings wages are;

Tolu £75k
Aris £65k
Jackson £65k
Krejci £45k
Wolfe £30k
Lopez £25k

Interesting to see the team today, some seem to think more or less the same as v Everton, meaning Hwang ahead of Tolu. I assume Hwang must be very good in training and VP likes him, really hope he has a good game, I need convincing. As Buxwolf says he would rather have Bully now than Hwang, at least I am not alone with my opinions.

2.) 13 Sep 2025 09:19:13
Every chance Hwang will feature today. Nothing to do with football, it's all to do with Wolves matches being streamed in Korea and they pay good money. Personally I think he would struggle in the championship.

3.) 13 Sep 2025 11:22:47
Tolu deemed not prem match fit Banksy, but Hwang, as Ray says is all about the Asian markets. He hardly seems to contribute, but can appear in the right place to nick us a goal. I'd be happy if they gave young Mane a run.

4.) 13 Sep 2025 14:04:18
Toti and Hwang both start. This mean we're playing with only 10 men as Hwang doesn't seem to do anything, and then we'll lose because of a poor decision by our Skipper! leading to a Newcastle goal.

5.) 13 Sep 2025 14:05:06
Just seen team interesting, Tolu and Hwang up front. 5 in midfield, Mosquera playing, pleased R. Gomes starting, really hope we can get something ?

6.) 13 Sep 2025 14:44:33
You could be correct Wandering, tbh hope not, will be watching, hope Toti makes no mistakes and is quicker with his play, unlikely but hope so ?
