I thought we were better today, not exactly exciting but at least we competed. A few more chances created, would have kept Bellegarde on rather than Arias. No Hwang or Munetsi which is an improvement and Mane came on. Makes you wonder if Krejci is really injured, think we have already paid for Lopez so he must be injured.


Arias unfortunately is nowhere near as good as Cunha, stating obvious.
Important now that we keep similar side moving forward, Krejci, if he is allowed to play comes back in and I would still like to see more of Lopez.

Possibly not being risked Banksy due to Africa's cup over Xmas, apparently we'll be losing five players for it. We'll be needing santi kreicji at the back and kreicji is the 20 game I think before Fosun have to stump up.


Lopez is stranger though I'd have thought he'd have been before Chirowa and mane, so maybe injury. Hopefully Doc will be back soon too.
Roll on Jan when we might get some quicker thinking going forward.

Inability to play a ball over a player to “in oceans of space wing backs” is beyond belief. Gomes and Andre playing tippy tippy football in our own half is asking for trouble. We have the fastest player in Prem but fail to use him as much as we should.

We must have someone who can play that Coady/Neves cross field ball. Why play with high wing backs if you don’t use the them. Looked far more organised defensively than under previous manager.

Again maybe contracts and time played may have a part of it simonandlaura but we're improved a little still too slow in getting forward. Jackson should be used in the right more in 2nd half get the ball behind and give larsen the opportunity.

Lack of wingers is killing us. Ended up with three so called strikers on the pitch and nobody to cross the ball. Ait Nouri and Semedo are badly missed too. No one like Cunha too to provide that bit of quality. Doesn't bode well for rest of season, mission impossible.

Played very well first half; need more of the same second half. Martinez had to be at his best.

We just don’t have enough creativity in the team. Second half we just stayed defensive. We had them every time on the right and just did not test them. So frustrating.

Totally agree VB, when we had chances martinez made his luck count, but we are just so slow in making choices, there's no dynamism in the team, no one carrying forward.
Was abit disappointed with the performance although it showed some encouraging signs.

Forest could be our turning point at home wed, if we don't pick up our win then it's not coming before Jan methinks. Its a chore watching this days.

The biggest problem so far is that Andre and J Gomes offer no foward movement in the centre of midfield we don't have a Ball carrier to take it to the opposition! They are too similar that area needs changing at HT, maybe Gomes goes off with concussion, because how he couldn't see Jackson in acre's of space is quite worrying

Guess we will see today what Rob really thinks of the players with his team selection. Really hope he can see that Munetsi and Hwang in particular should not be starting, that being kind to Hwang.
Remember Bellegarde having a good game v Villa before, think this version of Bellegarde left a while ago.


As always very interested to see the team selection, will Lopez, Mane be involved, about time if they are 🤞👍

JSL hasn't looked good so hopefully Tolu can provide the knockdowns for Mane and Mane can run at the defence and stretch them. Give Arias a freer role.

I've been thinking and thinking about the game Dmac and I keep getting the could get walloped bit.
Can't see either tulu or larsen doing anything if we don't get balls to them in an area they can either attack or have got support to nod down/on .
I've said before that lopez could be our surprise and he'd definitely start, although he'd need to be at his best.
It'd be interesting to see Mane start but maybe a later introduction when more experienced players legs are tiring would allow him to use his speed from the middle.
Arias proves to be a conundrum, is he played in a too restricted role? Does he need to roam across the pitch?
But if we're looking for crosses to tulu, jsl or both, then I'd even maybe think of playing both Hugo and Wolfe on the left, jackson on the right.


Then gomez and Andre.
The defence is really hobsons choice.

I know I've just named the squad without Hwang toti and Sa but I ve put preferences first.
No idea what RE will decide, but with it being the vile, at their place and our unique position I hope we can baffle em with some new style play and effort.
Can't see a win tho, will hope for an encouraging draw and won't be too upset if it all goes **** up and the walloping happens.
Things can only get better, yea!, well we'll see.

Abbeywolf I was hoping when Edwards got the job things would change and whang Toti and Belgarde would not get a game . But last week proved me wrong first sub Whang he does nowt Lopez can't get on the pitch 23mill why somethings not right.

Yes it's interesting how we acquire these new players, 'one for the future", and never utilise them DMac, like you I thought, given his record that RE might throw the young uns in, but I'll excuse the selection for last week due to Edwards only just stepping in and the return from international duties etc.
But yra why acquire Lopez, Lima and Rigardo to a large extent if they're not going to be risked?
What we've had under VP havnt performed or shown the interest whilst these younger lads are sitting out. Ok they're not experienced, young heads maybe not physically matched, but the other lot havnt wrapped themselves in glory. So give em the chance.
Mane yes he's young and maybe not starting material yet but he looks like he could be a proverbial 'super sub" to begin with.
Lopez in fairness hasn't really got going from a start. That could be due to a slower more lethargic service from others around him tho, and I really think quicker aytackminded stylewould suit him.


Another lad is Alfie Pond, who I think is no more of a risk than toti or santi can be. He played his only start v Brighton last season and I thought he looked very adaptable with the right guidance and leadership, and that an area that we really lack in. Neither toti agbadu or santi can lead a line and its only kreicji who now seems to try and keep one.
The selection of so many different tongues on the pitch can't help.
Hwang is quite frankly only explained by the talk of shirt sales and appearance agreement in his contract, because I've yet to see or hear anyone extolling his football .
Let's see who we get today Dmac, I hope RE is willing to experiment and why shouldn't he? We really can't go any lower, I don't even care about saving face now I want some belief for next year.
As I said before I'd rather lose 10-6 than 4-0.

Apparently we are not playing the likes of Lopez and Mane due to the difficult situation we are in. Might agree a little with Mane, however, if they are good enough they should play. Why did we buy Lopez if not to play him, before the season started surely everyone knew we were going to be around relegation.

Unfortunately if this is the case expect the same side moving forward and same depressing style of play.
