8 of our starting line up today speak Portuguese as their first language, wonder if this is a record?

Slinger

Being 3-0 up at half time might be some kind of record ??

2.) 22 Dec 2024 16:08:42
Good win today onwards and upwards COYW

As we all suspected:

Phil Hayward said: "Yerson has now had all of the various assessments and scans which unfortunately confirm injuries to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) and the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)".

"It is highly unlikely he will feature again this season".

It’s hard not to be a little disheartened by how the season is going. However before the season started we are pretty much bang on where I expected us to be with regards the fixtures we’ve had. In fact take a look at the league table and the current top 9 in the league are our opponents in the first 9 fixtures on the season. I wonder how many teams have ever had this tough a start to a season

So why play 4 at the back knowing it will knacker our midfield and put a huge strain on our wingbacks who are expected to attack like wingers and then defend like full backs? Why play a centre back pairing that has very little experience with each other where one is still inexperienced with prem football and the other is nearly as old as Gary? Why play with 4 at the back but only 1 up front so we are neither defensively sound nor able to fully attack? Why keep bringing on Doc when he can’t even have a good game for Eire at the moment? Oh and why come out at the end and act like Newcastle are like Arsenal or City.

That was a well below par Newcastle and we fluffed it. Sorry, Gary fluffed it. And I don’t care if he has or hasn’t got the players he wants. He has the players he has to get used to it. This feels like a manager sabotaging to try and prove a point. That’s like someone beating up their own kid at school just to prove the school isn’t safe. Yes, Fosun have ****ed him over a bit by selling Kilman without a replacement lined up. The same way as a school not being safe is awful. But the adult and mature response is to cut your nose off to spite your face? Really?

So either he is an idiot or he is petty and willing to harm the club because of his pathetic ego.

The game yesterday was awful at the end. You could see the midfield were out on their feet from chasing back because the defence was threadbare. And having a massive dig at doc is really mature. Yes he was to blame but it wouldn’t have happened had the midfield been protected enough and if we had Andre to bring on at half time to keep things fresh.

And why does he make changes after we concede? Other manager make a change to change the game. His subs are all reactionary. In chess that means he is on the back foot because he can’t attack and is stuck making defensive moves. That mean Howe mentally destroyed him.

Sorry for the essay. Just so annoyed. Add that to the fact the new clothing is poorly made. Don’t buy Sudu stuff. It bobbles after 48 hours and comes with defects. Honestly I’ve had hoodies that cost under £20 that are better made.

We are doomed! I know it’s early in the season. I just can’t understand the manager on his substitute selection and bringing on Doughty who is past his best. Who will be the 1st Premier League manager to be sacked? If results don’t change then O’Neil must be close. His tactics with the systems he is trying are not working.

That should end talk of Europe next season, and I think this is a good thing, we barely have a squad to compete at home and we don’t have the money to build a squad to compete in Europe and 60+ games next season. Best thing would be to finish as high as we can but not in Europe and keep building for a better season next season.

1.) 08 Apr 2024 08:31:18
Yes exactly how I see it Slinger.

2.) 08 Apr 2024 11:06:25
Entirely agree with you Slinger and Phil ?

Not starting any rumours, just a thought I had. Would you have Neves back? And if so who would you drop to have him in the team?

Slinger

1.) 03 Mar 2024 22:11:48
We could not afford him now and to be honest, as much as a brilliant player he was while at wolves, we have moved on and become more attacking team .

2.) 04 Mar 2024 01:01:17
We have our new neves Mr Tommy Doyle!

3.) 04 Mar 2024 05:57:10
Neves is a legend, but we and he have on.

4.) 04 Mar 2024 06:24:25
Neves was great for us, but as mentioned he's moved on along with us. We have equally as good individual Midfielders now with Gomes, Doyle and Lemina. Personally I think each one is as good as Neves.

5.) 04 Mar 2024 07:04:25
The saying is never go back slinger. Neves was and will be a legend from our development and history, to come back now could place too much expectation and thereon maybe a disappointment on that legacy.
He's part of wolves history and always will be.

6.) 04 Mar 2024 07:08:35
Ps. Talking of legends, phil, are you ok mate? Missed your posts this weekend. Especially your early morning prework weather updates!lol. Hope alls OK with you and your bruv.

7.) 04 Mar 2024 07:49:05
Tbh. I'd have him back tomorrow.
You can't turn class down.
And it's clear he has a soft spot for us. As a team as a club. As a city

8.) 04 Mar 2024 08:20:45
With Neves, we probably would have scored one or two from outside the box.

9.) 04 Mar 2024 09:50:47
Let's leave him where he is, a club legend, never to be forgotten.

10.) 04 Mar 2024 14:09:54
What a lovely social media post from the Arsenal bound Brayden. As they say "Always be sincere. Even when you don’t mean it". In response, I sincerely hope Brayden has a brilliant future career at Arsenal.

11.) 04 Mar 2024 19:36:15
I’d still have Nuno back, when G.O moves on.

12.) 05 Mar 2024 14:56:15
He was generally brilliant for us Blackfords and none of the three you mention are anywhere near as good.Lemina can tackle but his middle to long range passing is suspect and the same wih Gomes. Vice versa with Doyle. Neves can do both. Gomes and Doyle clearly have potential but also a long way to go.Without Neves last season we'd almost certainly now be a Championship team.

Don’t rate de Gea, too many mistakes in him
Some decent numbers twos around…
Kelleher at Liverpool could be a good shout
Dubravka at Newcastle
Fabianski at WHU

Might not be so hard to replace actually, how about Ramsdale?

No more wondering about what his best position is, on the bench at city, if he doesn’t want to play for us then fine, Hodge does

First off it should be a red card all day long. And this is why. There was never any intention or expectation from Lewis-Skelley to play the ball so no tackle was attempted. His only intention was to take Doc out, he went in studs first above the ankle. Most of us remember those tackles in the 1970’s and we’ve moved on from that. It wasn’t a harsh decision, the ref got it right.

Doesn’t sound such a bad idea actually, but rather then Doyle, Gomes and Lemina, any 2 of those and Guedes together with Cunha, think with there running at defenders could cause them problems

How many points did you realistically expect us to have at this stage of the season, given the fixture list we got dealt?
