So Lingard to Forest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah-Forest with ambition-Wolves with seemingly none

Forest is happy to pay a bang average player 200k p/w for one season. Lingard knows well what he's doing. (a) overinflated wages (b) he's in the shop window.

He's essentially using Nottingham Forest to neet his own ends.

Buying Lingard is desperation not ambition and quite honestly nowhere near worth that weekly wage.

Forest sticking a huge chunk of a their wage budget into one player is ambitious?
So this unambitious little club in the West Midlands with terrible owners has had the following players linked, enquired about or openly chased by top tier clubs around Europe, in this window alone:
Semedo, Coady, Kilman, Ait-Nouri, Neves, Moutinho, Neto, MGW,
So 8 of our players being coveted by these teams but how can that be possible given the 'nay sayers' claim that our transfer policy is appallingly unambitious and cash starved? I'll back financial prudence over reckless spending any day.

If you look at the clubs Wolves are supposed to be competing with (Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham, arguably Everton and Villa) if Lingard has gone to Forest on a free, does that mean all these other clubs have no ambition?

His record at West Ham was good but there are a lot of reports he could disrupt a dressing room. Why would a club with a tight knit unit want someone coming in on a massive salary with potentially the wrong attitude?

Makes one wonder if Forest might get into a bit of ffp bother if they're not careful £200k p/w is a lot for a newly promoted team.

Lingard is a waste of space, big time Charlie with an ego to Match, Forest taking a huge gamble.
I think those who like to complain will always complain, Wolves are going about it in the right way, cut your cloth to measure, wehave a good squad, and 1 or 2 more players will have us in the mix for Europe come end of season, I'm confident qe are in for a decent season with the players we have

AlexWolf : Competing with Arsenal,Spurs and West Ham, that really is ambitious. Their Stadiums are twice the size, they sign players for twice as much, probably pay twice the salary and are based in London. Brighton, Southampton and Palace are better comparisons of who we’re competing with.

Oxley my comparison is solely based on the proximity of clubs Wolves have finished around in terms of league position in recent years, not on revenues.

Wolves are a long way off of being a top 6 club from a revenue and infrastructure point of view.

My point was solely that just because Forest sign a player on stupid money doesn't make Wolves or clubs recently in and around the PL top 10 less ambitious than a newly promoted club.

Sydney agree 100% only gon for the money if he had any ambition would have gon to somewher like West Ham
