Wow - and pt your are one!
I actually quite like the stuff that is not directly related to the game today as well.
Reminiscing over past times - both football and non football related - plus the chat about holidays, (guess that is currently also past times! ), walking, TV shows etc etc.
I like those "what was your first game", or fav player, or all time 11 type threads.
I am also always interested to hear about people's interactions with the club - meeting players, managers etc.
My son, who is autistic and therefore sees everything in black and white, through his job gets to meet a lot of celebrities and it is always interesting to hear who is really like their image and who has a persona for the camera but is actually not that nice off it.
He often doesn't know who some of these people are, either they are old timers or from areas of life he isn't in to, and when he tells me about them it is often pleasantly surprising just how many of them are genuinely nice even the ones whose image is perhaps less than cuddly!

Ditto I think the same;

Enjoy the early evening match both of you.

Abbey my lunch I have already eaten first thing got some more food for lunch I have eaten that aswell.
My second lot of lunch was a chicken salad baguette.
I have had 2 heinz chicken cupasoups. ( down to the cold)
It's a bit of a rush after work to get all sorted and down my brothers for 5.30. But the wolves are worth it all day long.

Regarding refs; watched THAT incredible game last night and David Coote was excellent. Seemed to be spot on with all decisions, no VAR intervention, in a proper 'blood and thunder' cup-tie with 9 goals, extra-time and non- stop end to end stuff! On an annoying note, why is it some pundits, namely Souness, Ferdinand, Merson never know the names of OUR players, seems like its beneath them? Must win tonight COYW.

Agree PT the banter makes match day lead up all the more exciting in this lockdown. And thought provoking. There are some great characters on here and we truly are a pack in our own way. Up down whatever we're wolves young and old. Up for the cup tonight, strange KO time but hope every enjoys a solid wolves win. COYW.

Not boring at all!
The nicest guy I have met I think was Mark Foster the swimmer who was a guest at a function I attended a few years ago, he was absolutely brilliant, chatting v happily and at length about "strictly come dancing"!
My proudest encounter I suppose was as a 14 year old kid in the 1970s. I got to compete over 100m against Pat Holland who at the time was a West Ham footballer and am delighted to say I managed to beat him in a v tight race and even though he was probably 10/ 15 years older than me he was extremely gracious about it.
Most disappointing? I have met several MPs who have all been charming however although some are obviously super intelligent I was surprised at how intellectually ordinary some of them were indeed one lady in particular came across as genuinely stupid.
However most embarrassing was obviously at a Chelsea game with my son. I was chatting casually to a pleasant chap who happened to be standing next to me as we drank our coffee waiting whilst our young sons stood in line for the players to come through the lounge we were in, (expensive tickets that gave you {brief}access to the players) . He wasn't that interested in the players/ football and I elicited that he was more of a Rugby man.
I told him I had also played Rugby and proudly told him I had played Uni firsts and even some semi pro stuff. I then asked him where he had played.
He v modestly gave me a clue or two and I realised that I was talking to Marcus Rose, a chap who had 10 caps for England!
And I thought I knew a bit about the game?!

I've met John Richards when he was MD and had a 90 minute interview with him for my uni dissertation. Also had a chat with Kenny Hibbert on the subject of the Bosman ruling back in the day. Both lovely fellas.

Played cricket against Mel Eves and Phil Parkes. Also met Steve Daley and Don Goodman. Don was a very funny and friendly chap.

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet quite a few footballers, a mate of mine played for Cardiff City and he would get me in the players bar after games. I was in a round with Kenny Hibbett Willie Carr and Derek Parkin and got to meet John Richard’s before they left after a 2-2 draw. Another mate of mine was a football league official and I would go with him when he had a Wolves game I met Andy Gray. He also took me to the 1980 league cup win over Forest he wasn’t officiating just had complimentary tickets. One of my most memorable meetings was with the Welsh legend John Charles who was the player manager of my local team Merthyr Town, what a gentleman and an all time great. His record at Juventus is unbelievable.

Duncan Goodhew at butlins when I was 7 or 8 .

Andy Thommo Thompson when 16 but too shy to talk to him.

Heres one for the oldies I met hughie curran (after his playing days) at a birthday party in pub. He chatted to me for a couple of hours and reminisced over several of our games in the 70s. Also Ron Flowers in the sports hop, what a gentleman. Said hello very briefly to Sammy chung socially. And met big Willie Mcfaul (Newcastle and N Ireland keeper and newcy manager at time) who shook my hand and enveloped it, nice guy who then asked me about an oxford player Andy Townshend, who he went on to buy but rather flopped.

Met Norman Bell when we beat Leicester 4-3 2 years ago. Nice chap.
