Another website has produced an alternative league table based on performances relative to expectations - it has WH top and Villa 2nd. Liverpool are stated to be below us (seems harsh) but as we both got "relegated " its not a pleasant read and shows just how badly an injury crisis combined with a v poor transfer windown hurt us.
I wonder where they/ you would "expect" us to be next year - obviously the summer - which needs to be huge - will impact on that outcome but at the moment survival and, (hopefully) a resurgence thereafter seems the most likely outcome?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet another website has produced a league table where VAR decisions have been ignored. Surprisingly, we dropped down a place. I guess most of us feel we have been wronged by VAR but these things have a habit of levelling out over a whole season when the law of averages kicks in.

Funny that Deep. That's how it used to be when we just had referee's!

Ken
How true😁
At least when the officials made the decisions right or wrong it had to be accepted. “The referees decision is Final” the game was stopped or started quickly.
VAR has in my view had the opposite effect than that which was expected. Instead of stopping arguments and incorrect decisions, it has, in fact, caused more controversy and hit the confidence of officials so they are slow to make decisions and second guess themselves.
But hey what do I know after 35 years doing the job!

We may not of won the world cup in 66 if var was used then.
There was a goalkeeper in a world cup think 70's or 80's he rushed out the box and totally floored the oncoming attacker the keeper may of been West German he didn't get sent off if VAR was there then he would of been sent off.

Rivaldo Brazil, world cup where he got the player sent off when the player sent off kicked the ball towards rivaldo the ball hit rivaldo in the legs or mid drift Rivaldo went down clutching his face rolling round, if var was there then rivaldo booked the player not sent off.

All just a bit of fun.

My views on VAR are very much against or at least about how its being used. "Clear and obvious" was how it was sold to everyone, not what it's turned out to be. Tales to long and destroys momentum just for starters and the waiting for an offside until the phase of play ends, what on earth for? if your striker has size 7 feet he's likely stay onside a fraction of a second longer than one with size 11's.
None of this in my opinion falls within the spirit of the game.
Honest guys and you may remind me is the last time I will mention VAR except maybe in passing!

Sorry for posting off the relevance of the feed.
I agree with your thoughts Ken.

Phil 82 aginst France - one of worst assaults on a pitch you will ever see.
Think Germnany won in a high scoring game against a brilliant French team with Platini at its heart.
Can anyone confirm a story I have in my head that he was meant to join Wolves in 79 but failed the medical. We then bought Dave Thomas for a huge fee, nearly 600k, who promptly broke down with a career ending injury almost immediately whilst Platini fit as a butchers dog went on to be one of thre best players int he world!

{Ed001's Note - Harold Schumacher Sporting Villain.}

Yes Phil we did try to sign Platini. I believe Dave Thomas cost 300,000 at the time, far less than we paid for Andy Gray.
