Willian Jose;Sign him up. Traore;Does anyone really know his best position? Could try Jose and Cutrone up top and give Traore a rest.

Agree0 Disagree0

About last night; posed more questions than answers! Like, why has it taken until the last knock ings of Jan to get a 'proper' striker on the pitch, Raul got injured in October not yesterday! Like, why has Saiss been dropped? Like, Neves and Traore, just WHY? Anyhow, just grateful for the point. FWAW.

I'm a little concerned that all later posts seem to be simply happy with a clean sheet and a point. Yes indeed that's encouraging and against Chelsea new manager etc no jiminez ( but 3 strikers on bench) who were 10th in table below the vile even! And we obviously set out to defend, but a couple of things are worth thinking about, samedo was better but he wasn't asked to go forward at one point in an offensive position he turned fully around to back pass, even coady seemed surprised so he wasn't going to show a lot of frailties. Traore as received a slating and I agree but again when he's on abit of a leash by the team defending and not venturing to attack in support and he's lost. Neto and pods showd an appetite but were either brought down or again were on solo missions. We've got to give teams a game and take it to them, we showed we could have won that game with neto and sadly again dendonkers efforts, we didn't want to risk it. If weare to play so cautiously (we did at chorley) for remaining games well be in trouble. Well done bottom team Sheffield utd going away to leaders and winning 2-1 because they dared.

Hi abby for me being very happy with a point is down to we were playing Chelsea with a team bench and squad full of super stars, our recent really poor performances and the massive change of our overall team performance.
If we play with the same less attacking threat against palace then I will agree with your concerns.
Yes last night was a dire game with lack of goal scoring chances from both sides but I give credit to nuno for the game plan which nearly worked a treat if our best chance out the 3 we had from Neto went in.
A lot of positives to take out the game, podence was by far the better option than mouthino and podence will get better and better with more match fitness.
Fingers crossed eh we play well and beat palace.
Lol it's a roller coaster at times being a wolves fan, up 1 minute down the next.
Have nice day mate.

Hey I'm sure your right phil, and maybe I'm still living in nunos teams of old. Yes nuno got the point last, and all credit, I just felt that there were times when we could have pushed but didn't. Now jose here we'll have a go Saturday I'm sure but we've done palace twice already and any slip up can drag us down. We need to play with the freedom and menace we once had and I'm trying to fair, maybe traore will be able to get a shift in again and play his natural role. Hope the meal went well last night and no after effects this morning!

The meal went down a treat thnks, no after effects this morning accept for I woke up feeling famished always do after a big meal the night before.
My first alcoholic drink this year a bottle of san miguel with curry.
I like the conversations with you and others about us the wolves.
It's been tough with our injuries but there are other teams who haven't had a glut of injuries especially with games being crammed in in a short space of time, I think other teams will lose key players to injury and lose form like we have.
Hopefully our injury crisis is easing and I think we have good reason to be more optimistic about climbing up the league.
But we are wolves and I'm fully prepared to accept whatever happens.
Too early to judge at the moment let's see where we are after the Southampton double header.

Interesting and totally understandable post Abby.
I agree we need to be more positive against Palace but given our run of results and the quality of the opposition I was happy with the point.
If we had played with more ambition I suspect we would have lost and given where we are in the league we can no longer afford that luxury.
The team, given all the injuries we have suffered, the strange evolution of the team over the summer and the loss of form/ confidence of so many of the team simply isn't good enough to play any other way
Indeed although the style of play was v negative it was not that different to how we played for the last two years especially against the top sides.
The difference was that then we had Jimenez up front and now we don't. (and as Preston says we haven't had any sort of Premier League quality striker since he got injured! ) Consequently we found it both hard to hold onto the ball and to take advantage of what little ball we had
Maybe Jose will be able to change that but last night was surely too soon to expect him to play 90 mins?

Phil 789. It was only Dec 15th when the same, "Superstars" rolled up at Molineux and were beaten by us 2-1. Without a crowd the away team has a slight advantage. Is it just me that is proud of the lads defensively but shocked at the amount of ball retension possession we had and lack of more of a goal threat. It was like watching Newcastle. We missed the chance to get 3 points there.

Did a job last night, far from pretty. Great to have Podence back. If we can get another clean sheet against Palace I'll be happy but of course moving forward we need to create and score more goals. Traore is a winger, he's wasted in any other position, and we need a striker playing of course. Back 3 was pretty solid, midfield were not as deep as the man utd game which was good.

28 Jan 2021 10:47:43
Valid point ragingbull I respect your opinion on the match I see where you are coming from, how we played dec 15th we haven't been playing nothing like that for a while so that's why I think the way I do.
I thought before the game we would draw, where lots on here were fearful we would lose.
If we don't take the game to palace then I will have concern.

Phil mate its a joy reading your posts and the positive stance you have regarding everything, and of course your brave. I said before season started expect crazy results everywhere and that's been the case, high unexpected scores, villa spurs etc defeats like Sheffield u win last night. its been a different environment add in new laws and our injury situation its no wonder we are where we are. Things are now looking brighter but we need points quick as games run out. Palace is a prime example, we need to be firing on all six, and goals are needed and then not defended the rest of the game. We can't muck about with short corners clever free kicks and showboating get the ball in the box get players in and around the box, the two goals against poorthorns are examples of what I mean. The cross field back passing patience as its place but it won't always win goals the fact that podence and neto have scored most shows that. Yes looking at things again that was a great point won last night, but now we've got jose please let adama net pods get up that field again. Southampton matches going to be interesting but its arsenal before that, and I think that'll be the game to show where we're aiming. Take care and best wishes to your bruv.
