Posters moaning about Moutinho but when he went off it got worse and Chorley overran us. Seeing as Neves was fresh and Chorley were tired what did he do?
Can't defend crosses.
Wing backs were lightweight.
No service to front two.
Johnny Otto to score the winner in the final at Wembley.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually thought mouthino was the only one that went about his job in a positive way. Less so in the 2nd half maybe but there were some others much much worse.

Have got the game recorded and will watch in the morning. (Wife was watching Neil Diamond concert! ) But gather from various sites that it wasn't pretty - again!

This is issue tonight was negative on the ball. We need to start going at players when over the half way line. We invite so much pressure every game. Luckily tonight Chorley didn't get any gilt edge chances. The front 2 may as well have not played. Unfortunately we have gone too long without proper back uo strikers Unfortunately it is down to the managers lack if planning and match tactics.

Neves was at his best when the team was full of forward thinking players who played with a purpose, Doc and Douglas, Costa and Cav, Jota and Afobe, all replaced by players who won’t or can’t, find space, run on to through balls, pass the ball forwards, cross the ball into the box and most of all score a goal occasionally, we all know what Neves can do but he’s not got much to work with since Nuno went so negative, wouldn’t be surprised if he follows the likes of Jota and Doc and becomes the player he should be.

Thefutureisgold ill save you wasting your time, ruddy drops early to keep out 1st minute effort. Some fireworks go off outside, (very nice), vitinha hits spectacular 36yarder. The ball is knocked aimlessly up to the half way back to coady/ boly, repeat over and over bar the occasional long ball to the right possibly with a ground level ball towards the box. Moutininho takes corner backwards and short. Moutininho takes free kick and passes sideways too long and to an unexpected hoever. 2nd half even more of the same but chorley test us and ruddy comes to rescue. Nuno stands with arms crossed looking less than interested. Makes three subs and at last a wolves player actually runs Neto and Adama whose first touch is to flatten a chorley player. Fabio chickens out and pulls foot at any challenge, wolves look like they're kicking a ball around in the car park waiting for a bus and the spectacle was that of waiting for a bus. Chorley kept the interest alive by actually trying to play football. End.

Camp
Pretty much spot on.
Players were not prepared to take any responsibility, other than vithina who obviously saw it as an opportunity. Many looked like they didn't want to be there and there was certainly an element of FEAR in our play. It could have been due to the occasion, a no win situation, the pitch, the weather etc etc but very worrying signs.
Can Nuno pull this team together? . Does Nuno want to pull this team together? For the first time in Nuno's reign I'm very concerned. To the point where I think our next couple of games could decide his future at wolves and even our place in the premier league. Let's hope the lads can pick themselves up from this slump and push on. There is still so much to play for but FEAR can have no place in a team and some of these players have to stop hiding.

I don't like criticising our players, and he has got a lot to learn, and he will given time,
That's Silva, but when he gets on the ball in opponents box, I don't get on edge of my seat, if it was traore I would, so hope Jose gives me that feeling,

Tks Abby - v good summary.
Did watch but found it hard to concentrate and game drifted by.
Positives:
Ruddy again looked far better than Patricio has done recently
Boly won everything particularly in the air - sadly he has to as no one else seem to be able to put a challenge in.
Good shot from Vitor - if we are thinking of buying him, (although for £20m you can buy a ready made good player? ), he needs to play. But surely it is one of him, MGW or Owen to get 2nd or 3rd midfield spot alongside Neves and Dendonker. At moment Owen looks best bet and is free. In reality we should buy an ACM - see my August post on areas of squad that needed strengthening! But doubt we can now afford it after wasting so much money in August achieving nothing but weakening the side dramatically.
Hoever showed some flashes.
The subs were far better than what had gone before
Negatives
pretty much everything else:
Tactics were staggeringly negative against a non league team.
Kilman ok but ok at this level isn't good enough
Coady had v little to do but still didn't impress. Needs to be a sweeper behind 2 dominant CBs - we should have bought one in August - again this was obvious and was stated! When Saiss is on form we are fine but need both Saiss and Boly to be on top form to cover all the other weaknesses - Otto and Doherty not being there amongst them
RAN - shows glimpses but so did Vinagre - for £20m hard to see him coming but with Marcal now out long term he will continue to get a chance to impress
Moutinho, as was obvious and I stated last August is no longer capable of playing regularly/ consistently at the level required.
Dendonker has many qualities but he is v limited and if he plays we have to be aware of this and design tactics and formations to accommodate it.
Cutorne - surely won't play again
Silva - shouldn't. The worry is that from game 1 it was obvious that he wasn't a Premier League quality footballer. Yet due to bad planning and bad luck he has played for most of the last 9 games where we have picked up 5 points!
He is only 18 and has virtually no adult football experience whatsoever so maybe he might improve with time? But at the moment he is hopelessly out of his depth. Even last night he was easily marshalled and controlled by non league defenders. He like Cutrone didn't get great service but he has no pace, no strength, v little skill, (loses the ball far more often than he retains it as both his touch is poor and he is feeble) and unless he improves massively his finishing, (his ability to be on the end of chances is his one shining positive and could easily be enough to have a great career - think Gerd Muller - but unlike Gerd he is hopeless in front of goal. I also note that my mum would get a few chances playing in front of Neto, Podence and Traore so maybe it isn't that impressive to have got on the end of but missed a dozen or so good chances), it is hard to se him surviving at Wolves. Needs to go on loan to a level he can play at - this should be youth football but maybe where he was a B team for a Portuguese side might be best
Nuno has lots and lots and lots of credit in the bank but he is burning through it fast.
He seems v unhappy with his lot and maybe his head has gone down. Desperately need a break - a lucky win and bad decision going our way for once - but he isn't helping with weird and ever changing formations and selections.
From where we were before lockdown to this is hard to believe but if you look at our first 11 from before the lockdown the answers are obvious
Patrico - lost form - lost confidence - looks old
Doherty given away
Otto - injured
Saiss - fine
Coady - lost form - and can't play in a 4 but Nuno has insisted on using it
Boly - Good but has been injured
Moutinho - got old
Neves - fine
Jota - sold - but Neto/ Podence fine
Jimenenz - injured
Traore - out of sorts and tactics almost designed to thwart him - no CF yet he crosses for a CF all the time

Only Neves, Boly and Saiss are still fine and Neto has been added so 7 problems in a team of 11

no wonder we are struggling.
