So this was the general consensus before the season started. Patricio leaving is a done deal, Neves and Moutinho to follow. Other likely exits Saiss and Boly also obviously Traore will leave. And not to mention Coady going to Spurs. Podence also going to Spurs and Neto leaving when he’s recovered. Mgs isn’t good enough so get rid also Dendonker isn’t good enough and neither is Silva. just wondering how many of those certain departures happened? Also wondering why everyone’s up in arms about mgw, no one on here rates him so what’s the problem. So we managed to keep hold of all those players except Rui and we’ve signed about 5 more first teamers. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get more, but as some have said why get someone who doesn’t want to play for us and why pay vastly over asking price. Also we’ve played 3 games against top sides and conceded 3 goals, hardly a leaky defence. Arsenal spent £50mil on one defender and have conceded 9 goals in 3 games.

Great post Goat. I think we're all frustrated about not getting a couple of deals done, but we've held on to so many players as well as a few additions so it's far from disastrous.

I get the feeling that MGW was going to be used further up the pitch than in central midfield and with Hee Chan signing his game time would likely be more limited.

There's no point paying over the odds for players who won't add much, which is exactly what Arsenal have done.

There are still plenty of teams worse off than us and we may get one or two in January.

My only concern is being light in midfield, but having said that Saiss and Coady can play in midfield, and hopefully we may get to see Jordao and Luke Cundle get some more minutes.

Speaks volumes for the quality of squad Fosun have assembled for their Head Coach to work with, it’s said every player has his price and Wolves made it quite clear they would consider enquiries for anyone, the fact that there was only a passing interest in two of our players is proof they only sign players no other Clubs want.

Oxley, you could say the same thing about almost every side outside the top 6 of the Premier League. There are players in the squad mostly not good enough to step up to the top 6, too good for the championship and would gain nothing by side stepping to another club at the same level. If we had more than 2 players capable of making the top 6 teams the chances are we'd be finishing higher up the table, but those calibre of player cost money the club doesn't have and usually want European football from the off.

Like it Goatmark, someone with a bit of common sense, would have liked Sanchez through the door to be honest but the guy ain’t fit so it is what it is, if he wants to come which we are to be believed he duz then maybe January is an option.

I rate Gibbs White, not sure why you've decided I don't exactly?! Also I thought him and Otasowie were exactly the sort of young prospects that we bought a manager renowned for youth development in to work with? 3 apps for Gibbs this season and a goal already didn't seem like a bad start to me (better than most the squad in fact) I think the bigger question here is goat do the club actually rate Gibbs White?! We had an attempt to sign a CM fall through and still they sent him out, surely he's better than no extra option?! Eitherway he'll be 22 in Jan so it needs to happen pretty soon or he's missed the boat!

I said the general consensus bullysboy not every post is a critique on you and I don’t assume to know your opinions on everything. As for Gibbs White I thought he has been playing as a forward not CM so perhaps with the new arrival he wasn’t going to get much game time. I think the club do rate him hence the new contract but realise he needs game time to improve and sounds like they are giving him more time than you, all this talk of missing the boat lol.

I know you weren't taking to me, I was just pointing out your presumption 👍
He's played as an inside forward but as he's filling out could definitely have played a midfield role from the bench, he played left wing for England. But the point is at 22 if he's going to make it he should be ready, why not give him that chance to play a squad role when we are light anyway?!

If he's good enough for a new contract shouldn't he be good enough for the squad place at 22? On that note why sell Otasowie when we NEEDED a physical cm for cover?! Just seems like some of the choices with our youth team have been poor ones. Just ask Goncalves or Jordao 😬.
