Can anyone clarify, Ed or fellow posters if the referees in the premier league will be using pitch side monitors on VAR decisions.
Thanks.
I was watching the psg marsaille brawl and the French referee used the pitch side var monitor for neymar straight red card. That gave me thought to ask the question if it will be the same in the premier league.

{Ed002's Note - Yes they will.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thankyou Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Both to Phil and Ed 002 thanks for that and dare one say about time to! I much prefer the one referee system frankly. Much more part of the game I love. A pint and talking about the ref after the match!

Sound Ken👍
Why it wasn't used last season goodness knows.
Lets hope for a good match and 3 points😊.

Big Clubs will still get the big decisions though, even with no crowds, referees are programmed to give penalties at Anfield and Old Trafford.

I always thought common sense would be to check screen for the on field ref to have the final word! To obvious Phil. Not long now. COYW.

John Moss was told to have a look at the on screen monitor the other day after sending of a Southampton player. After viewing it, he downgraded from a red to a yellow card.

Wow what a start! Whatever they are on can I have some please! 😁😁😁.

Mollie New. He shouldn't have to be told to check. If we have to have it then use the damn thing especially for important decisions!

{Ed001's Note - that is how it works Ken. FIFA have taken control of the way VAR is to be used in future and they have laid down that the ref makes the decision and VAR checks it and refers it back to him if they think he should take another look. If he just ran over to check every single important decision, we would only get 5 minutes of football each half.}

Ed001 ok understood, thanks for that. I'm not for it in anyway but I would prefer the in field ref to have the final word. Hopefully that will happen. As I said earlier much prefer a pint and call the ref! Maybe I'm too old! 😁😁.

{Ed001's Note - the ref is to have final call now, Arsene Wenger is in charge of it and has made that clear.}

Thanks Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome Ken.}
