Apart from the top three there’s really not a lot of quality in the Premier League this season, teams around us in the table losing games, having bad seasons by their expected standards doesn’t make us a better team, we’ve had some good results lately, perhaps we should not play more often.

If we finish higher than 8th it's because of the poor form of West Ham or Man Utd even though our form has been as bad

But there's a chance we could do this which is better than this time last season when we had nothing to play for

Overall quality of the league over a single season doesn't matter too much when your club isn't competing in European competition. 1 team still wins it and 3 teams still go down.

If the teams above Wolves bar the top 3 were having better seasons then the teams below us would be having worse seasons, and the teams above would be out of site, so the league position should balance out and Wolves would probably still be around 8th. All those dropped points for Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal etc. have to go somewhere, they don't disappear into oblivion.

So are you suggesting that we didn't deserve the wins we've had this season and that they were flukes a d solely down to how poorly the opposition played rather than how well we played? You sound like one of the media people who can't see past the 'Big 6'

I think the quality of the league is getter more and more.
Outside the big 6 west ham,Wolves,Leicester knocking on the door of the big 6.
Yes man utd are shockingly poor this season but even with that they are above us.
So Jas is right we are where we are through how well we have played.
Crystal Palace having turned round their club with change of manager staff etc.
Brentford superb at times and surprised how well they are doing.
Villa up and down season but even so they have had some terrific results and some awful.ones.
Liverpool and man City light years away from the rest.
Everton and man utd the 2 clubs for me who are the largest amount of been less than their standards.

Exactly, the league never lies, you finish where you deserve to finish,
We've done ok,but with success comes disappointment sometimes,
I'm looking forward to what the future holds,on and off the pitch

That's all very true but I wonder where we may have been, (and others), without some disputable VAR decisions. 3-9 points better off maybe?
