Well what do we know? Our anger was heard in the dressing room. Suddenly we are at full pace get a bit of luck then a piece of genius and Southampton fall apart. Funny old game! However we need to do some serious buying in the Summer.

3 valuable points, and what a turnaround, let's celebrate that! We can start to cast an eye at next season and do some serious business on strengthening the team. We need Raul back to strength, keep Neto, a replacement for Moutinho, and a powerful CB, which will give us depth and a chance for the youngsters to grow without pressure.

Great 2nd half, lovely win. Centre midfield has been a major problem for 18 months, needs to be sorted! Think next season that Billy Joe and Fabio would be decent back-up for Raul, if we can keep Neto (with Podence and Traore) FWAW.

Of the current 11 that played to day I would only have 6 (and that includes Semedo as that deal is now done and can't be reversed) in the starting 11.
Big decisions required re who stays, (lets give Vitor, RAN and Jose a fair chance over next few weeks but not hopeful for them), who goes, and who comes in all over laid by money. Given our spend last summer and the commensurate increase in wages what is left? Particularly as income will be massively down due to both C.V. and poor results/ no Europe.
I assume £60m before any proceeds from disposals.
Goalkeepers, new one needed so Patricio goes - saving big bucks in wages and maybe bringing a small fee in. £15m Net budget.
In defence - Is Vinagre coming back. Is Marcal fit enough to count on? Do we sign RAN? Buy new RCB - Budget £20-30m?
If Marcal can be counted maybe Saiss - who surely still brings a reasonable fee might have to be sacrificed.
In Mid Moutinho goes with our thanks on a free. Big saving in wages. New AM required. Biggest and most important decision we will make. Budget - what ever is required stealing from other budgets as necessary but say £35-40m.
In attack from what I am hearing Jose's last two poor games are now a pattern and not an anomaly. Hence back up still required. Budget - what ever is left if any! Prob will need to be a free. Old boy looking for one more year?
Unless my £60m is a cautious estimate it looks like we will struggle to catch up 2 years in one go AND priorities may need to be adjusted, AM a must everything else a nice to have.

First half I was watching through my fingers! Thought a repeat of Thursday about to befall us. Second half a different team: we looked more assertive and confident. Not knocking any performance b. t. w., see poster above thinks Jose is the next "fall guy". I call it as I saw it: he doesn't appear fit. I. m. o.

PS he was ok for first two games but has looked off the pace when I saw him twice last week as well
