Hi guys, I’ve been a Villa fan since I was 11. I’m now 38, but I’ve always had a soft spot for wolves going back to the Steve bull days. In all my time as a Villa fan I’ve witnessed many lows. the best time to be a Villa fan was under O'Neill's era, but that did not last long either. Since all the commotion of Villa in recent weeks I am seriously considering switching allegiances to Wolves. As I’ve always followed them along the way too. What is your opinion on all this. Should I or shouldn’t I?

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely NOT! You don't pick the team you want to support. You are stuck with your team even when they are crap!

Personally mate you should stick with the team you have supported since you were a kid . I have stood at the mol for year after year through the good times the not so good times and the plain damn awful times and couldn’t even think about switching allegiances to another club let alone one just down the road . Then part thinks your not really a true supporter of your club (vile) if you can switch allegiances after 27 years.

You are on a wyned up, no one can change aligence no matter what.
Ive seen the good and bad at Wolves in my 55 yrs, and no matter what would never ever desert Wolves.
I've seen us in the 3rd and 4th division, crowds down to 3,000, a home ground not fit for pigs, almost out of buissness at one point.
Yet still we stood shoulder to shoulder, fans, players and the city and got through it.
There was a number of things that got us through those bad times, but the most important was the loyalty of the fans no matter what.
I remember going away to Bury, Southend, Oxford, Carlisle. etc
Sometimes there'd be more Wolves fans in the grounds than home support.
Put it bluntly No stick with your team through thick and thin no matter what.
These are the times they need you more than ever, its easy to support a team when there doing well, I've got no love for Villa at all after this season and how they tried to get us done for ffp, and now we all know why.
If proof were needed if a club can comeback look at us, frim those days of not being able to pay the milkman, to being one of the richest clubs in the world.
So no don't be a glory hunter and stop a proper Wolves fan getting a ticket at the Mol. stick by your team.
There going to need your true support.

No one who wants any credibility changes their team.

you seen some bad times lol in prem how many years damm.

10 Jun 2018 13:18:38
Absolutely not, you're coming across as a glory hunter.
True supporters stick by their team no matter what you stick with them through the bad times aswell as the good. Vile will bounce back.

No they won't!

Your villa mt Not wolves just cause villa in the 💩don’t think you can jump ship n join us now we doing good you chose villa so that’s who u are - yes admire us from afar but do not start claiming u a wolves fan because don’t matter how hard u try u will get found out - be it on history or stats u will make mistakes so stay with villa don’t become a glory hunter.

My local team is Hibs but I grew up in Wolverhampton and I follow Wolves years after I left

It's ok to watch teams and join in the fun because you are with your mates and when you have to change mates when you move like I did you probably want to do what they do so it's ok for me to support Hibs too and I watch Scotland play rugby which is only complicated for me when they play England and I keep quiet lol

So what I'm saying is it's not easy to switch to a local rival because you leave your old mates behind and you stop being part of what your friendship is about

Depends what you mean by support though you can follow any team you want but support means being emotionally involved too like how would you feel if Villa won the cup

My mates at work Hibs supporters follow Wolves now too because of me it's part of the footy banter we have.

When I was very young (honest) I "supported" Man U, Leeds and . ahemm . Villa at different times. But Wolves were the team I read about in the E&S and when I was old enough, I'd go with my friends to the North Bank. And 40 years or so later I still support Wolves. I can't imagine changing club now, as an adult. It's something children do.

You can't call yourself a supporter if you jump ship when it all gets a bit mucky. Sounds like the prawn sandwich brigade at Old Trafford.
