Okay, an update on the Rui Patrício story, my sauce tells me (Jas don't jump down my throat)

"Rui will give Sporting 7 days to amend their position. There is a chance the president is thrown out of the club and the new regime resurrects the 18M deal with Wolves. If not then Rui joins you (Wolves) for free.
They have accepted to pay the 18M if Sporting relent, even though they (Wolves) could wait and get him on a free, simply to honour Rui Patrício's wishes. Rui has ALREADY signed his contract with Wolves.

Confirmed. The source is Sports Witness.

Patricio has not signed a contract with wolves . Gestitute have advised that he passed a medical but the deal fell through because of Sporting's President . No deal signed.

The president has resigned so it's still 50 / 50, the incoming president could allow the deal to go ahead. Sedgely (not that I doubt you) could you provide a link, please? I can't find any statement online.

According to TransferMrkt, Patricio is now 'Without club. ' Does this mean that any club can sign him for free or do they simply have to pay off the remainder of the terminated contract which will be considerably less than £18m. Should be an interesting saga.

Unless Sporting accept his arguments for rescinding his contract, whereupon Sporting lose all rights but still have to pay him for the remainder of his contract, no one will be able to sign him until the conclusion of a legal battle because Sporting will still hold his registration and would be arguing that he cannot break his contract.

If they accept his arguments for rescinding his contract, they set a precedent that could see the whole of their first team squad (or at least everyone who was present during the training ground attack) do the same and they lose everything. William Carvalho is reportedly taking this action too.

So, I wouldn't expect anyone to be signing Patricio any time soon.
