Daily Mirror today:-

Super agent Jorge Mendes – representative of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho among others – is part of the group attempting to purchase the club from building magnate Steve Morgan.

That deal to is nearing completion. However, it is understood that the widely circulated name of Robin Li – founder of internet search engine Baidu – is NOT the buyer.

Li has been linked with Wolves but sources close to the club have indicated that the country’s sixth most wealthy individual will not be following up acquiring a controlling stake in AC Milan by adding Wolves to his portfolio of sports’ businesses.

That's the same story they ran the day before. Only thing they forgot to mention was that AC Milan is still owned by Finnivest Group.

18 Jul 2016 09:01:02
Funny how robin li was at the crew game then.

18 Jul 2016 09:07:14
Also, is the the same Daily Mirror who reported on 6th July that Robin Li was buying both clubs. Seems that there is so much bull flying around that no one can remember what they originally said. Let's just wait for the official statement from the club rather than trying to second guess what the papers say as it's obvious that they know nothing.

18 Jul 2016 09:07:23
Bollocks!

18 Jul 2016 09:13:04
Have any proof of Robin Li being at Crewe? Not calling you out just interested in this?

18 Jul 2016 09:13:39
How did you know robin li was at Crewe game.

18 Jul 2016 09:26:03
LMAO - Do you two really believe him that Robin Li went to Crewe!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Christ alive.

18 Jul 2016 09:29:44
He couldn't have been at the Crewe game! .

He was at mine having tea.

18 Jul 2016 09:45:02
Let's face it nobody nows what's going on, they the club have made a very good job of hushing it up, what I would say though if there was nobody interested in taking over Moxey would of told you by now that there was nobody interested, but to keep quiet like this tells you its only a matter of time before we are told something one way or the other these things take time.
Also I think a lot of these made up stories are from the baggies fans who seam more interested in we than there team.

Obviously we all want Lei or Li, but actually Jorge Mendes wouldn't be bad on his own. He's worth £1 billion and has many contacts within the game.

18 Jul 2016 10:06:37
Agreed wavidsmith, if he's involved we won't end up with some pauper. ANNOUNCE IT WOLVES! I know u want to! 👍👍👍.

18 Jul 2016 10:14:02
There's that many rumours on here you don't no what to believe even a bit of information from wolves would be nice give the fans some respect and give some updates.

18 Jul 2016 10:34:20
Re wavidsmith I don't think we do all want Ding Lei, some money is not worth having.

In December Ding Lei investigated investment opportunities in Zimbawe. Some Chinese prop up effectively criminal African regimes like Mugabe's by supplying them AK47's, Ding Lei is obviously in with that type of Chinese. SJH would die a second death if Ding Lei who is happy to associate with Zimbawe and Mugabe bought Wolves, I'd be as ashamed of that owner as I am Moneyshop sponsoring, it would completely conflict with the clubs heritage and wreck the clubs image and potential for greater support.

I think it must be Robin Li though, or with him linked so much, Wolves would have at least clarified to E&S it wasn't him as I doubt he'd appreciate the unwarranted speculation, it would be hugely unprofessional for Wolves to have allowed Robin Li's name to be falsely dragged along with this.

Ulf.
This is a rumour site, not the guardian. And I'm a guardian reader.
I don't think that Moxey or Morgan care who they sell to, as long as they get plenty of buck for their bang. They don't care for heritage, or tradition, it's business, it's money, and that's it.

18 Jul 2016 12:22:24
You don't think SJH would have an issue with a Chinese owner who was happy to associate himself with Mugabe? I think Morgan has a real responsibility in this sale associated with his own legacy, he's already said he's willing to sell to a foreigner and that is already in conflict with SJH's legacy who did him a favour selling to him for only £10, because it was on trust. Fair enough, modern World, foreign owner, but Morgan still has a responsibility to make sure it's a decent foreigner (ie one not happy to invest in and support murderous and criminal regimes like Mugabe's) , if he doesn't he'll have properly betrayed SJH's trust, ripped him off and his legacy will be permanently wrecked.

Though if it's Mendes and a group of Europeans instead of Robin Li that would be fine :-) Just not Ding Lei, unless Ding Lei is willing to stand up and denounce Zimbawe, trash his links to it.

Ulf.
Seriously, do you really think Morgan cares? His legacy at WWFC was shot the moment he threw his toys out of the pram at Preston, he's been vilified ever since, along with Moxey ( who is just a scapegoat) , we all long for the days of exciting football, McCalliog, to Waggy, cross, Dougan knock down. Richards scores in front of the North Bank, but money talks, and we NEED money to achieve our aspirations . I want to go into Europe with the Wolves, I was 11 when we played in the EUFA cup final, ( and hated Martin Chivers, and Spurs ever since) , and have seen other teams draw level and go past us. Bournemouth, Norwich, Southampton . All fine and decent clubs, but even their most die hard fan would surely concede we're a bigger club. We ARE a sleeping giant, and the sooner Morgan relinquishes his hold over the club the better.

18 Jul 2016 12:39:04
Can I just say, Sir Jack could have sold Wolves in his day to exactly the same people, but refused to. I believe Morgan has just gone back to Sir Jack's old overseas contacts and put it to them again. It is only thanks to Sir Jack's legacy that we are linked to all of these Chinese owners, Morgan himself has done very little with the sale of the club. I would even say Moxey is probably of more use/ importance in this whole takeover saga because, despite what is written about him, he does actually care deaply about Wolves.

18 Jul 2016 12:42:47
Wolves is Moxey's life (yes, and pay packet hehe)

18 Jul 2016 13:30:12
FFS, I want to go on record here and state, I was at the Crewe friendly, I wish I hadn't been but there you go, I was. Also, I wish to clarify here and now, that is not me walking behind KJ at his post match interview. I do however believe that was Ding Lei's son Bruce.

But I was there, and I can tell you, on my housing benefits and child support I am not in a position, repeat not, buying Wolves.

18 Jul 2016 14:37:18
Ulf, please step down off your soap box. Morals where money of this size are concerned play a very small if in deed any part in this or any other sale. Do you think France had any morals when selling exorset misiles to Argentina during the Falklands conflict.

+1 Spanish wolf

No one seems to care about the arms the united states pumped into the middle east for ISIL/ ISIS either.
