Seriously I don't see the point in signing afobe last week to sell him on the week later don't add up
It isn't worth the hassle for 2 mill 🐺.

I do if it gives us an advantage with either N'diaye or Butland, but if neither then it is a weird situation.

I posted an article on these lines a few days ago about signing a player knowingly another club were interested in him, I did state it was just a thought and nothing more that he could be used as bargaining power i. e. Buland perhaps.
Strange things happen in life and nothing surprises me more than in football
I can remember Clive Allen signing for arsenal in very early 80s and never playing a competitive game for them and being used in a swap deal for kenny sansom, as I say just a thought.

Maybe there was an obligation to buy as part of the loan deal after all. Nuno decided he wasn't for him so we fulfilled our obligation then got rid asap for a quick profit. Who knows. What I do know though is in nuno and fosun we trust. COYW.

Paul - do agree with your point as I'm somewhat surprised to see this one gathering pace. I can only think that if this does happen it shows how creative Fosun want to be regarding FFP. Whilst I myself have said what's the point on those margins but I think that's cause of what we are all used to (cough previous owners cough) where we all think of the money as just extra for the club. Fosun look to be having a different approach in thinking they need to do EVERYTHING they can to maximise there use of FFP.

I suppose it easy for us to sit here and say what's the point for £2-5m but I suppose if that's some new young stars signing on fee then the difference could become THAT signing! I would still be surprised if it happened but then what do I know, we are off the maps here boys, uncharted waters! Luckily I trust those steering the ship, should be an exciting voyage ahead with or without Benik! COYW ;)

I've heard we've only had to pay 6m for Afobe due to Bournemouth owing us for the previous sale. Also Stoke offering 12m rising to 16m if Stoke get promoted, that's a potential 10m gain, nothing to be sniffed at.

{Ed001's Note - it is not a potential 10m gain. Agents fees alone will number in the millions. Then there are solicitor's fees, the 5% of the fee on each deal that goes to the FA, the 5% to the player and the %age that goes to previous clubs (such as Arsenal) that he played for as a youngster. Taxes etc as well. Plus, if you are correct that you are not receiving money owed, that is taken away from the accounts, reducing profit further.}
