Apparently we put in a last minute bid for Ozil but we struggled to agree personal terms. ha ha

Does anyone know how much money we have in the bank?

EBW

Who comes up with these jokes? It's good to have a laugh sometimes in stead of listening to the moaners!

No but we can be sure it's decreasing by the day and will continue to do so unless we shift a couple of big earners. Expect loan announcements next week.

Dunno about Ozil, but I wonder if someone like Fellaini is being paid more than RJ+JOH?

£4.21p .

The New Steve Bull was going to cost 25m and we had that money in the bank plus the profit from the sales of jarvis/fletcher 14m so shouldn't we be 50m in credit? We haven't announced any operating losses yet so we are constantly balancing the books. Anyone know otherwise?

I'm baffled by the number of people who are happy that Doyle is staying. What does he do to justify £40,000 a week in any division let alone League 1. He's a striker who doesn't score goals. All he offers is "working tirelessly". If we could have offloaded him we would have been able to bring someone in for a fraction of the wages, been just as effective and maybe score a few goals.

Economics aside, he's a good player for this level.

Financially, though, I guess we're in good health if we can turn down a £3.5m bid for a player costing us maybe £40k per week. (Personally I think less than that, but anyway). {Ed001's Note - with insurances etc, I would think 40k is a conservative estimate mate.}

Silly me confusing two stories. Of course it wasn't Doyle who was attracting a £3.5m bid. No idea what was offered for Doyle or how serious it was.

There was too much in-fighting from us supporters last season, Doyles attitude towards our club has been great, let's please get behind ALL of the lads that pull the shirt on this season!

03 Sep 2013 12:36:42
How can Wolves turn down 3.5M for Sako especially as you're in League 1 no player is worth 4M in that league.

Parachute Payments!!

Ambition!

Must be a first.

I would imagine it was refused as the 3.5 million was structured payments and the top figure would have only be achieved if the planks went up.

Maybe. Doesn't sound right that our revenue should be based on another team's success. (But wouldn't it have been good if we'd signed some of our players on that basis?)

The squad as it is should be good enough to get out of the league. If we do I hope some of the money that has gone awol from the Fletch, Jarvis, Kightly transfers is made available and KJ is allowed to make quality additions to push for promotion again. I know i'm getting ahead of myself but there is still 15 million pound somewhere that we haven't been told about. If it is paying RJ and JH then the people that think Moxey is good with money need to think again.
GET MOXEY OUT.

03 Sep 2013 11:40:21
Remember that the previous season we over-spent, so you could say that the Fletcher/Jarvis money was already accounted for.

The money spent the previous season was only what Morgan had promised to invest as part of the deal in getting the club for a tenner.
GET MOXEY OUT.

03 Sep 2013 14:50:40
We will almost certainly lose money this season. Do the sums.

Going back to my first point, Moxey ain't as good with money as some people think. There you go, sums done.

McWulf, the deluded ones will never be won over with rationality.

So what happens to JOH and RJ nobody wanted them in transfer window. We have to pay there wages so do we play them?

This might not be popular but if JOH is fully fit he would be an asset in this division. Play him then perhaps he might at least be able to put himself in the shop window for January and we will be able to offload him. If he fails again then we have cover in midfield. His experience would be an asset to the youngsters in the squad.

No, no, no, no, no.
I would rather see them rot. To release them we would have to pay up their contracts, allowing them to sign for someone else and start earning double! I'd rather see them rot, and potentially ruin their careers. How can you want to play O'Hara in place of McDonald or Evans?

03 Sep 2013 10:37:16
If I refused to do my job I would be sacked. RJ and JOH should be made to play for the stiffs and if they refuse surely there are grounds to sack them! {Ed001's Note - I remember this coming up at Liverpool, when Rafa was in charge, and it turned out that the players were being brought in on contracts stating that they were first team players. So none of them could be made to play in the reserves, they could be asked to, but it was up to them whether they did or not. Caused no end of problems, most had no interest in playing in the stiffs and they were not match fit and rusty when they got a chance in the first team. Anyway, the point is, there is a possibility that the same has happened here, that the players are on contracts that don't cover the stiffs, in which case the club is powerless. I don't know if that is the case, but it would explain a thing or two!}

Bakory Sako's last tweet-

youhouuuuuuuu i'm staying looool is that sound more happy for you? looool

Take it this means he is happy to be staying! I do worry that he'll be shipped out to Fulham on loan, but we'll see {Ed001's Note - Prem clubs can't take on loans outside of the transfer window, the loan window is for the Football League only.}

Didn't realise that Ed.Sorry! I really can't see Forest (or anyone else outside of Premiership for that matter) getting him on loan, so happy days! He's not the complete saviour that a lot of folk seem to think he is, but his shot alone is worth keeping.

Derby days at Sandwell next season it is then! {Ed001's Note - no worries mate, just thought I would set your mind at rest.}

You're hoping. peace has splashed the cash at the last minute, something Moxey and Morgan would never do
