Well, it's finally happened. Now let's see what the board do now: will they stick with RE or start afresh? Hopefully it's the second, as I can't see the present management setup getting us back straight away.
21 Apr 2026 06:26:25
Edward looks like a beaten man already.
20 Apr 2026 21:56:44
We’re down.
Thanks Nuno.
20 Apr 2026 23:32:19
Why blame Nuno.
21 Apr 2026 05:39:25
He's got our road map to Lincoln, Lindsay.
20 Apr 2026 21:55:51
Relegation confirmed.

Many people are posting possible signings. The first one should be a strong club captain. We have lacked leadership on and off the pitch since Conor Coady left us. If you ask me, this is when the real rot started to become noticeable. I would actually love to see Coady back, maybe as a coaching role with a succession plan to develop him further.
20 Apr 2026 21:02:25
Kieran Trippier will be available on a free.
If Southampton don't go up, then Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
20 Apr 2026 22:14:19
Jamal Lascalles too. 3 players who will make our defence better and provide natural leadership.
21 Apr 2026 01:37:10
I'd take Wilfred Zaha on a free.

20 Apr 2026 17:58:44
I see you're in the John Mousinho camp, like me. I think he could do a very good job for us.
20 Apr 2026 19:14:11
Very good and valid assessment. Noisy, I agree all the way, apart from the Hugo/Wolfe position. Yes, Wolfe is more defensive looking, but I think Hugo offers more all round.
I confess I've watched him through the youth teams, so maybe biased myself, but he always gives what he can, and I'm not sure Wolfe has the same commitment in games.
The Portsmouth gaffer (can't spell) certainly seems to know what he wants, and has indeed got a relegation threatened team to safety. How that would move towards a promotion seeking season I wouldn't know, but certainly a safer bet than RE I'd imagine.
Lima, Rodrigo not getting game time now is a bit odd, I think too. When they first arrived in our friendlies in the US they looked the biz. Lopez was hot and cold in his appearances, but never had a run to get really acclimatised. I hope they don't turn the same way as Trincao and Vitna have and slip away from us.
Edwards had a good record with the youngsters, and I've questioned his man management. Maybe he can relate better with them than the older, experienced players?
I'm really not holding my breath regards success next season under RE. Them tactics are confusing and baffling to watch, let alone play, and you have to be a tough unit every game in the Championship, and we just don't have it. We need a leader on the pitch, someone who leads by example, and that's something we've not had all season.
Depressing times. Maybe the freedom of actual relegation might lift us for the final games and give us an entertaining finish? Beat Spurs and finishing above Burnley would be something, but what a dour time us fans have had.
Old Gold Wolves no matter what though COYW.

Its awful ain't it?
We had a glimmer of hope after beating Liverpool and Villa and drawing with Arsenal. We got 15 points and avoided the worst ever record.
Rob and Pedro are ok and need to be given a chance.
We should lean on Gestifute. Anyone know why that ended?
Its awful but things can only get better.
20 Apr 2026 13:57:01
To be fair, MikeCee, things can get a lot worse. Even though Shi2 was talking a good game, things on the pitch tell a different story. If Fosun weren't ok with Wolves falling back into the Championship, would they have a) appointed RE and b) done nothing to improve the playing squad at Xmas? In fact, they made it weaker.
Let's not forget, Shi 1 technically got a promotion, so was he simply doing their bidding?
As for Gestifute, they're still around, but if Fosun won't back the club, there's not much they can do.
Personally, I have zero confidence in any significant upturn, as I don't see how and where it will come from unless Fosun change their approach, and I don't believe that will happen.

Apparently Tolu and Mane had a bust up in the dressing room last week so one of them will be leaving I reckon.
20 Apr 2026 10:11:30
It's already been speculated that it'll be Tolu leaving, which suggests he was the aggressor? Like so many of these players, though, we have little to no chance of recouping the £21m we wasted on him!
Also, questions need to be asked of Rob Edwards, and if he's respected in the team.
Fighting between players was the beginning of the end for Gon because it basically represented that the club was in complete crisis mode, with a very real lacking in respect or authority. Sorry to say it, but I can't help but feel that's the case again here. What a bloody shambles. 😭
20 Apr 2026 10:18:44
Pity he didn't show that level of aggression on the pitch!
20 Apr 2026 10:31:23
Reminds me of the time there was a bit of argy bargy in the dressing room after a defeat during Mad Mick's reign. Apparently Carl Ikeme punched a hole in the tactics board. My only surprise was that we even had a tactics board!
Mind you, I think Mick's team could probably beat the current lot.
Mick got sacked only because we slipped into the relegation zone with about 13 games still to play, and therefore plenty of time. That luxury was never earned by us this current season.
20 Apr 2026 11:24:09
I hate to say it, but I suspect the atmosphere at the club is toxic from top to bottom and has been for a very long time. Possibly even during Nuno's later months. The close-knit togetherness of those first two or three Nuno seasons has been slowly lost, with management changes and a seemingly less researched approach to transfers.
20 Apr 2026 13:52:58
We definitely have dropped our standards with transfer research. Nuno had a very small but well-researched squad, from the 2017/18 season in the Championship onwards. Injuries were light because of this, and even the personal character of prospective signings was delved into to weed out problem players. When you look at most Wolves squads in past Fosun years, there were always match-winners amongst them compared to now.
Look at the Cunha hat-trick at Stamford Bridge in February 2024. Chelsea couldn't cope with him and Neto. Cunha struck again on Saturday. No doubt about it, we're sold the Crown Jewels every season, and finally stopped replacing them. Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth have managed to sell and prosper, but not us.
20 Apr 2026 13:59:03
I think that was under Dean Saunders, deep throat.

Who do you think we should sign this summer?
I know half the squad is leaving, but who’s coming for Championship?
I hope Sterling on a free.
Keep Mane at all costs.
Give Edozie more minutes.
20 Apr 2026 08:46:07
Sterling would only come for the money & we can't afford to pay him what he wants. Not convinced about Mane either. He needs to sharpen up a bit. Gonna be a long summer.
20 Apr 2026 09:45:16
Anyone who wants to play for the club, with the ability to help get results in the Championship. The aim should be to win the league and not make up the numbers, but, realistically, the rot needs to stop first, and the best way to do that is rip out any problem players or players who don't want to be at the club.
Of course, what happens next will depend on a competent recruitment team.
20 Apr 2026 12:01:28
The best Fosun will commit to is an 8th place finish, so we partake in the play offs. They'll soon spin it and say that, after a season of unparalleled turnover of playing staff, 8th place is an excellent showing. We are a joke club now.
