Very true. It's all well and good fighting until it's a mathematical impossibility - and they should. However Forest will pick up points. Realistically to get into 17th place as a minimum will take 35 points unless 2 of Forest, Bournemouth or another team fall off a cliff. That means needing 30 points in the second half of the season. At the half way stage 30 points leaves you just outside the top 4.

To turn around a team with 1 win in 20 to top 4 form in 18 games with a difficult January window really is the making of miracles.

Rosenior would be a good shout if he wanted the job, but also if he's given 18 months and not just to the end of the season. If / when we go down changing the head coach again seems a waste unless we go down without a fight.

At the moment we just may have to accept whoever it is due to a lack of pulling power (unless it turns out to be Shi in a tracksuit).

At this rate Jackett or Lambert will be coming back.

I'd like to see us look more at home grown from the championship. Sometimes the money is still ridiculous for transfer fees, but there are some good players to be had who can make the step up as other clubs have demonstrated.

We also missed out because Mike Dean gave Burnley a penalty for hand ball that never was against Doherty otherwise we could have finished a place higher with more points from that game and not lost out on goal difference.

I think the problem is alongside the January window being difficult at the best of times, the club has very few cards to play. If anyone comes who would want to stay next season in the championship, are they going to improve us now?

I expect there is little appetite for anyone who will improve the team wanted to come for a relegation fight that needs a miracle to over turn it.

Some reasonably solid Championship players with experience in the Championship as it's a very unique league. A short opportunity for them to play in the PL and an opportunity to get them settled at the club ready for next season in the Championship.

I have the utmost respect for those fans who have spent their hard earned cash on tickets and still give their time to turn up to each game.

Hard to disagree with that list, but I think two players are missing who deserve a special mention.

John Ruddy signed on a free and a vital part of the promotion winning squad. Was unlucky to lose his place to Rui.

Ryan Bennet also signed on a free and was a key part of the back line for a few years. Personally I believe he was underrated at times and don't feel he was ever adequately replaced.

Sometimes players fit better in certain leagues and certain clubs - even with some managers players perform differently.

My question with our signings and sales if if we supposedly had such a good academy when Fosun brought the club off Morgan, why is MGW the only player of any note to come from it? The odd one appears in the first team squad for a while then seems to go out on loan never to be seen or heard of again.

Does anyone genuinely know what state is our academy in now?
