I know there’s a lot of doom and gloom, but things aren’t as bad as they seem.

In the season Wolves got promoted under Nuno, the team for a while had a defence that contained Roderick Merinda and Danny Batth.

Wolves had players like Bright Enobokhare, Jack Price, Connor Ronan and Ben Marshall - and Nuno was using them. Without tinted glasses, it’s easy to see that these were not great players. Enobokhare promised much but ultimately delivered nothing.

Mateus Mane isn’t playing well at the moment, but he is improving. If he clicks, he will do as he’s promised and smash the Championship.

When people sing the praises of Santi Bueno, they should remember that he only excelled in the sweeper role of a back five. Fans want him in the team, but Nasser Djiga is a better player.



Wolves’ 26/27 squad contains some excellent players. Going forward, at times, they are incredibly easy on the eye. Hopefully Krejci will take Toti’s place and Wolves defensive woes will be a thing of the past. Tchatchoua isn’t that bad at Championship level, but it’ll be a relief to see a fully fit Tripper back.

In 2017/18, when Aston Villa thrashed Wolves 4-1 at Villa Park, Nuno dropped Danny Batth. Will Peixoto have the courage to drop Toti? Both skippers and both dropped after a 4-1 defeat. Who knows.

Drop Toti and get players back from injury and Wolves have one of the best sides in the Championship. There is pretty much two quality players for every position. Going forward there isn’t a team that can match Wolves.

Don't know if I'm right but Wolves would hve to sell someone first to buy. As there 25 places are full so if they bought Traore he couldn't play. Unless they got rid of who ever could it be Santi who wants to get out?

Ha ha ha. I couldn't be arsed to write it all out.... Good for his development though, will someday come to manage us maybe in years. Good vocal person to have. I think we should of took him on for coaching, etc. Badges and grown him the Wolves way, like Barcelona, Ajax etc do.

S & L I suggested this a couple of days ago when he left Wrexham. Think he'll be a great coach but not sure about manager as that's a much harder more varied role.

Jose Sa has signed a new contract.

With his previous deal due to expire at the end of the season, our number one is now committed until 2028.

Good news.
With the security of the new contract, he can now knuckle down and prove himself to be the best keeper in the Championship.
We also need to get Krecji up to speed asap, and into the team in place of Toti, who, frankly, is not good enough.

There must be something Toti is doing in training, as all the managers seem to like him and even give him the armband. I'd like to get the managers' say on it; it would be interesting. How can they not see the same Toti we see?

I see Wolves have lost another academy player to a Premier League Club, this time Spurs. The academy system is not really fit for purpose, is it?

We steal from smaller clubs and bigger clubs steal from us. I just don't get it really.

Completely correct.
It does make you wonder why teams bother.
Find and develop a good player - it doesn't even have to be a great player, just a good one - and one of the teams above you in the pyramid simply takes them with minimal or zero recompense.
As you, to be fair, state, it is pretty much what Wolves did with Mane and Rochdale.


However, as Wolves drop further and further down the pecking order, they are more and more likely to be the loser from these transactions rather than the winner.
Guess the secret is to be a big team!
Wolves blew that, unfortunately, post Seville, and, as you are seeing, it just gets harder to compete the further you fall behind.

Hughie Curran RIP

As a kid in the late 60s my Uncle and I used to attend games at Molineux. After the game we used to walk down the alley to Waterloo Road and hope to see players coming from the main entrance, for autographs etc and you could have a good natter with some of them. One chap we saw walking towards us in a dark raincoat was Hugh Curran. We politely stopped him for a minute, he signed the programme and we chatted.

He was a friendly, affable chap and as a player he never gave less than 100%. Saw him score some cracking goals, his timing and powerful heading ability was superb. I'll always remember Hughie, just for the fact that he stopped to spend time with a young fan, it made my day. Thank you Mr Curran, for all of the great qualities you had as player and as a fine human being.

A little shocked to read this this morning. Hughie Curran R.I.P.
Despite knowing him at Wolves, he also played at Oxford and subsequently ran a couple of pubs near me. He happily chatted and signed one of the Wolves books in my collection, but I spent an evening chatting to him at a birthday party we were both invited to.


He was entertaining and reminisced about his time at Molineux and as an international for Scotland.
His memories weren't maybe as I recalled, and he openly admitted that a fan's view wasn't always the same as a player's.
A very amicable man who was perhaps underrated at times. God's rest, and all thoughts, of course, to family and friends.
