Whispers coming out of Turkey that Wolves have been offered Ziyech since falling out of favour at Galatasaray.
1.) 04 Jan 2025 18:47:24
He's well past his best so hope we stay well clear.
10 Dec 2024 15:12:42
Apparently Uncle Jorge has been tasked with getting Jose to come for a £5M pay off going to Fenerbahce. I'd take this in a heartbeat!
1.) 10 Dec 2024 16:58:49
Really, not sure I believe that to be honest?! To what end though as well? If we don't have the ambition to keep Lope do we really have the ambition to keep Jose?!
2.) 10 Dec 2024 17:03:59
Just reporting what's all over Irish media over here Bullys. It is a rumour site after all.
3.) 10 Dec 2024 17:16:17
Haha, OK Pikey then I'll start a rumour Stan Cullis to be cloned and bought back to the club! I for one can't wait to get him back in the dugout! In Cullis we trust, it is a rumour site after all ??
4.) 10 Dec 2024 18:29:40
Yep, but that's not reported in the media anywhere is it Bully. There's at least two sites over here that are reporting what I posted. [c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1254894395?-300:786] ?
5.) 10 Dec 2024 22:00:39
Newsnow is not the media, it is merely an aggregate site for click bait! They basically come up with outlandish stories (usually that peeps want to be true) so as to drag them in to look at their cheap pop ups! To be frank if that's your media 'source' then I suspect the Cullis option is about as likely! Like ya say though it is a rumour site so let just pretend/hope it's true eh ??
26 Nov 2024 15:26:52
If we actually sell Ait Nouri for the reported fee of £30M to Man U or Liverpool I will be disgusted with Fosun's business acumen and it will prove my thoughts that they're cashing in before they sell. He's undoubtedly worth at least £50M in today's market.
1.) 26 Nov 2024 16:34:30
It's all media bullsh*t.
We sold Nunes for £50m+, Kilman for £40m+ so I'm sure Fosun will get the right price for AIT
2.) 26 Nov 2024 18:50:08
Sorry Pikey Wolf, but RAN isn't worth £50m. He's OK going forward has the occasional deft touch and knows where the oppositions goal is, but out weighing this is his inadequacy in defence. He loses the ball with over-playing/poor passes around the half way line 2 or 3 times a game. In my opinion he's been pretty much responsible for at least 7 of the goals against so far this season.
3.) 26 Nov 2024 19:53:46
Yeh but if we sell to liverpool or suchlike they will use him correctly and turn him into a 60mil.player.going fwd there aren't many better.same as t.a.a.ready made replacement for lpool.so hold out for 50mil.easy
{Ed001's Note - TAA plays on the right, hardly a ready made replacement.}
4.) 26 Nov 2024 22:18:30
Sorry but I'm with East here, £50m is a LOT of money for a defender that can't defend! Without a massive change in his defensive attributes I genuinely don't believe a big club will even be in for him! He's great at going past people by that alone is not enough for modern full backs ?
5.) 27 Nov 2024 15:23:57
Well whatever we sell him for, we've got to pay Angers 50% of the profit. So if we sold him for £30m we'd have to take off the £10m we paid for him and give £10m to his former club.
Hardly seems worth it.
6.) 27 Nov 2024 17:10:59
v good thread with lots of excellent contributions!
I agree with lots of bits and disagree with quite a few as well
It's interesting to see posters's views though and great that this contentious/multi faceted issue has created some unusual alliances/agreements.
Firstly undeniably RAN is not a strong defensive full back - but is that ability, ( don't think so - see Salah game last year), attitude, (is he careless and casual in possession or simply too ambitious or optimistic/out of kilter re his colleagues) or tactics, (like Doherty before him RAN is often out of position but as with Doherty is that because the manager wants him to bomb on?).
However I think it is a little harsh to underplay his offensive capabilities. He isn't just good he is amazingly good.
In a better team that could give him a freer role - like TAA at Liverpool albeit RAN is left sided not right - and who could cover his defensive weakness he would be extremely valuable.
Breaking teams down is incredibly hard even for the top sides and RAN is as good as any (except perhaps TAA) defender at doing so. Even at a weak club who don't score many he has more goals and assists (5) so far this season than any other defender in the league.
Consequently I would hope we would get significantly more than £30m.
Clearly at a better side his weaknesses would diminish in importance, ( top teams are forced to defend far less anyway and RAN's shortcomings could be covered), but his strength would become more obvious as his team would have more of the ball and the opposition would not be able to devote as much time and energy to defend him.
He might therefore be even more successful going forwards.
On the next point however sadly whilst we got great prices for Kilman and Nunes we got terrible ones for Neves, Neto and Traore. Consequently I can't be certain that we will extract more than £30m regardless of what I feel about his ability, cf for example Kilman.
Finally Wandering if we get above £20m we would simply buy out the 50% option, (Liam Keen confirmed recently that it is not on profits but sales price and we still have the option at £9.5m.)
So if we sell at £30m we buy out the option for £9.5m and keep £20.5m.
7.) 27 Nov 2024 20:47:48
Is it really worth it then?
We paid £9.5m for him so if we sell him for £30m without buying out the 50% clause, we make £10.25m profit.
If we do pay the £9.5m buy out clause and sell him for £30m then we would make £11m profit.
8.) 27 Nov 2024 21:04:38
Wandering - NO!
Firstly you are confusing cash and profits
Secondly you are ignoring/don't understand amortisation.
Please find a friend who can explain football finances to you as I don't have the time or energy to keep this up!
9.) 27 Nov 2024 22:12:45
I do understand maths. We pay £9.5m We sell for £30m = £20.5m profit.
But as you say we leave the clause in place so that means we give £10.25m to Angers.
Or we pay Angers the £9.5m buy out fee so we have paid £9.5m for the player plus £9.5 to Angers so £19m in total. We sell for £30m so that means £11m profit.
Please explain what Amortisation is as I understand it to be the action or process of reducing or paying off a debt with regular payments.
So although we may be paying any transfer fee/buyout fee over a period of time, the bottom line is that we will still pay the asking/agreed price.
And before you try and insult me again by saying I should ask someone who understands, I have whereas you clearly haven't hence you thinking we lost £107m last year.
10.) 28 Nov 2024 07:19:11
Amortisation is a form of depreciation. The cost value of the asset is reduced for every year of a assets economic life. In the case of football players his contract. So if a player costs £10m and he initially signs a 4 year contract, his value on the books is reduced every year bt £2.5m and the reduced value is used against the sale value to calculate the profit. Also in the case of RAN, from what future appears to be saying, we would have to pay back 50% of the sales value, not the profit made. So if we sold for £30m we have to pay over £15m not £10m
26 Jul 2024 13:43:51
Congratulations to Mario for having the armband handed to him. The perfect choice for captain in my opinion.
1.) 27 Jul 2024 08:36:45
In the latest training video believe one of the coaches was Mark Robson from West Ham who GON wanted last season.
Seen no news on this can anyone confirm.

Can anybody shed some light on the Uche soap opera? How can Jorge Mendes be trying to broker the transfer if he has no ties to the player or his agent?
1.) 26 Aug 2025 08:59:59
According to what’s being said on the rumours page Pikey….
He might be coming,
He might not be coming,
He will be coming,
He won’t be coming.
The left hand wants to sell him, the right hand wants to keep him.
He wants to move here,
He wants to stay there…….
Hope that’s cleared it all up mate ???
2.) 26 Aug 2025 09:22:53
Thanks for clearing that one up HTP. ?
3.) 26 Aug 2025 09:42:10
Cheers HTP! ?
4.) 26 Aug 2025 11:06:07
I'm sure I read earlier in the summer that for some very strange reason transfers would involve his agency even if they weren't directly involved. Hard to fathom that out and maybe the cause of friction when tbe vultures, aka agents, look to secure their percentage with their grubby mitts.
5.) 26 Aug 2025 11:27:58
Sounds like a reasonable theory Old Wulf. ?
6.) 26 Aug 2025 12:11:43
His agent dosnt like the slice Menses is getting, the player himself is happy where he is, the club need to sell.
AC Milan have come in, Italy or England.
21 Aug 2025 19:07:42
To sign a player for €30M then two months later to sell him for €65M is unbelievable business whether we like it or not. If Wolves agree to let him go then they will absolutely have someone or two already lined up (Yuri Alberto? Wallace?); they won't leave us in the same position as when Raul got injured and Fabio had to step up.
1.) 21 Aug 2025 19:32:27
But it's just not that simple, this ain't Footy Manager! Firstly you seem to be forgetting that the €30 agreed was done so BEFORE he scored 14 goals in a debut Prem season, had we not agreed said that fee then they would have wanted MUCH more (well done to the club for agreeing that option:). Then you have to get clubs to let their best striker go, this close to deadline that won't be cheap. And even then it relies on peeps wanting to come to us, which has been a struggle all window. Then on top of all that you are relying on the fact that the strikers mentioned can even cut it in the Prem of which there is no guarantee, whereas we already know JSL can. Look at Villa, they spent £30m on Wesley and he was seen as the next big thing. Fast forward 2/3 seasons and they had to let him go for next to nothing cause he just couldn't score at this level! Why do you think Newc want JSL when they could sign the very players your mentioning FAR easier and cheaper?! At this stage in the window we'd be (quite literally) gambling our entire Prem existence for the sake of €30 profit! Profit which would also almost get entirely swallowed up by the replacement signing! No thanks!
2.) 21 Aug 2025 19:50:48
Maybe the club know what they're doing.
JSL didn't have any Premier League experience before he joined our club.
Neither did Raul, or Diogo.
After flirting with relegation last season, we went out and signed Agbadou and Munetsi. How much PL experience did they have? But yet they transformed the clubs fortunes.
3.) 21 Aug 2025 20:21:41
Never said I agreed with the business at any point. But maybe they are putting their trust in VP and players he has chosen to come in? At the end of the day no one knows and like I said before; like it or not the club will do what they want to do and us fans are an after thought.
4.) 21 Aug 2025 22:22:49
So what you’re saying Wandering is any player we sign will be without risk and settle in the Premier League. Laws of average suggest we will come unstuck at some stage. As Bully is pointing out is it really worth risking Prem survival for €30m?
5.) 21 Aug 2025 22:35:23
Never going to set the world alight at NUFC. Doesn’t work hard enough, and not physical enough for a guy of his size. Wouldn’t be sad to see him go, but it’s getting a little late for replacements.
6.) 22 Aug 2025 06:30:49
47vintage, not saying that at all. We could go out and sign 'Premier League' ready players and pay the big bucks for them. Sancho, Sterling and Anthony spring to mind. Would you pay £30m for any of them because as you say, they're all Premier League ready.
7.) 22 Aug 2025 07:03:53
According to X Wolves will not be selling JSL or letting Hwang go this summer and are focusing on incoming players.
8.) 22 Aug 2025 08:25:08
The season has started. JSLis our proven premier league goal scorer. He should be a required player not available at any price. To let him go now would be reckless.
9.) 22 Aug 2025 09:17:12
Have Fosun ever been anything but reckless on reflection innocent?
Buti agree to let Jsl go now would be the last straw surely.
10.) 22 Aug 2025 10:18:33
JSL has a realistic value on the transfer market, but he has another value to Wolves right now based on PL survival and league position. The two numbers aren't even close. Unless Newcastle offered a stupid number close to what he's worth to Wolves then selling him this season should be a non conversation.
11.) 22 Aug 2025 11:26:35
Antony, Sancho and Sterling scored 8 goals collectively last year between um! Whilst all playing at clubs higher up the table. So we could sign all three and still get just over half the goals JSL scored last year! I honestly think peeps are underestimating just how hard it is for a club like us to find and sign a 14 goal striker! Credit to the club for doing it in the first place but let's just hope the club doesn't also underestimate that as well eh!
Also what would it say about the club? We've struggled to sign players all window and how is that going to get any better if we suddenly can't even keep our best players for just one window?! ?
12.) 22 Aug 2025 14:19:28
Exactly Bullysboy. Over the years we have sold our better players - Jota, Neves, Jimenez, Kilman, Nunes, Kilman, Cunha, AIT and now possibly JSL. Not a single one of them had ANY PL experience prior to joining us.
This is what I'm saying. We are disappointed when players leave but they joined us as unheard of players. So in that respect, the club are doing a good job. The next step would be the club being sufficient enough to retain these types of players.
13.) 22 Aug 2025 16:53:22
Wandering your last post is almost perfect, (No Neto but 2 Kilmans), right up to the last sentence!.
Wolves were sufficient, financially and on the field, to keep them and did all the way to Seville.
Then Nuno and the rest of the management team were kicked out so that your man Jeff could take over and now the club is no longer sufficient.
14.) 22 Aug 2025 17:08:10
Problem is Wandering that virtually none of those players you've listed there were Prem ready first season. Even Jota and Neves had a Champ season to help them warm up. At this stage we don't even know if we have replaced Cunhas goals (15 is a BIG ask of Arias first season) and you think it's a good idea to then sell another 14 of our goals?!
What I REALLY don't get Wandering is that I'm not convinced yoh do actually think that because about a week ago YOU said:
'If we had replacements lined up then I might consider a sale but I don't think our recruitment team know what they're doing at the moment.'
So what's changed since you wrote that exactly?! You realise that you don't always have to take Jeff's side right?! ?
05 Jun 2025 20:38:30
I know this will probably upset some on this page, however, I seem to be one of few that doesn't seem to mind Cunha and Ait Nouri leaving? I used to get frustrated with Cunha's work rate when we weren't in possession (Premier stats show he was one of the laziest players without the ball in the league). His discipline was abhorrent at times and I'm afraid I couldn't forgive him for his actions at Ipswich or Bournmouth. As for RAN, yes going forward he was a very good player, but he did have his downfalls, he would take one too many touches on regular occasions, run into players rather than attempt to go past them and try skills/tricks when they weren't justified. Defensively he is poor, I lost count this season how many times he missed a tackle, fell over trying to buy a foul or was caught out of position. I agree the fee for him is probably €10M too short simply because we should be inflating all sales to clubs like City and Utd. I'm going to stick my neck out guys and predict VP gets in who he wants and we will be absolutely fine next season. I think we will be more solid defensively and rely on team work rather than individual brilliance to win games. COYW
1.) 05 Jun 2025 21:13:58
Spot on Pikey!
2.) 05 Jun 2025 21:34:15
Well said.
3.) 06 Jun 2025 09:17:15
Totally agree Pikey, you are sticking your neck out. ??
4.) 06 Jun 2025 10:04:58
As I've said before Cunha and RAN played a hand in over half all of the Prem goals we scored last season, and that's not easy to replace with a pathetic £95m combined! Then there's Club captain Semedo to replace as well so let's see what magic they have lined up.
I do find it funny that people are so quick to jump on the 'they weren't that good anyway' bang wagon, Jeff must love these pages cause they are full of his propaganda! ? They weren't that good but ones a steal at £62m and the others headed to one of the best clubs in the world, but yeah your right for a team that spent most the season in the relegation zone they were both bang average, OK then! ?
5.) 06 Jun 2025 10:22:46
I concur Pikey consistency was missing at times sometimes missing for 2/3 games on the bounce. Regarding price nouri has gone for. Wow. I honestly thought we would end up mcatee and 20/25 mil.
6.) 07 Jun 2025 16:17:42
Was RAN the reason why we couldn't play 4 at the back?
25 Feb 2025 21:35:30
So Djiga must be an absolutely awful defender if Bueno keeps getting in the team ahead of him. Semedo had a shocking game, Munetsi doesn't know where he's supposed to be, Cunha out on the left touchline for the second half and Sarabia wimping out of tackles. Back to the the GON way of playing back to the defence everytime possession is gained. I hope they watch that game back tomorrow and are ashamed of that second half performance.
21 Jan 2025 09:38:51
Unfortunately I can only see one outcome at the moment. Cunha and Ait Nouri will be sold before the window closes with very little time to reinvest. A couple of late loans will come in to try and keep the fans happy and it will go down to the remaining head to head games with Sou, Leic, Ipsw who will stay up.
1.) 21 Jan 2025 10:37:29
Some idiot has upset him big style
Let's face it. When they go.
We won't be replacing them
VP. Won't hang around,
Seems inevitable our fate
Can't believe it
We need to try and keep our best till this run of fixtures has passed .fingers crossed
2.) 21 Jan 2025 11:01:15
Some of the comments below about player attitudes are worrying. If they do not respond positively to VP and are ready for this fight, then it smacks of Mad Mick's last days and what followed that.
3.) 21 Jan 2025 11:35:40
Walter Zenga mark two.
4.) 21 Jan 2025 11:58:12
Out of the light cometh Darkness
5.) 21 Jan 2025 12:12:20
Maybe VP's game philosophy dosnt sit with these players he's inherited Wimborne, cunha appeared to have different ideas with him on the touchline. RAN was all over and looked like he'd given up before half time when he got switched to the right. Gomez and Andre gave it their all, but the space they're expected to cover seemed too much. Why Sarabia started, and stayed on so long puzzled me. Whatever VP is a demanding type, also in public a forgiving type, but the confidence confidence that he professed has long gone from the squad by the look last night.
6.) 21 Jan 2025 12:17:38
Knew we were in trouble when we got Walter mkII as manager.Another cheap option for Fosun. What do they do now?
7.) 21 Jan 2025 12:59:58
Information has come forth Cunha did clap the fans and Keen was stirring the pot, i've posted a video hopefully one of eds will sort when they can, but Keen needs to be pulled infront of his boss and questioned.
8.) 21 Jan 2025 19:37:09
I take your point Abbey.there is certainly something wrong. VP is a credible manager and some of these players have given a good account of themselves on occasions. Maybe I am naive about whatever the circumstances a professional would always give their all for the team. To not care or try is insulting to the whole club and fans. I can forgive a lot.but not that. I really hope this is not the case.
9.) 21 Jan 2025 21:49:32
Yeah have to agree with Wim here VP is about as credible as we can realistically hope for considering our position! In fact I'll (begrudgingly) admit that he was better than I'd expected us to get in terms of background. Yes it's fair to say that he still needs to prove himself at this level but to call him Zenga or a cheap option seems WELL wide of the mark!
Like managers before he needs the appropriate tools to do the job, until that actually happens we will just keep rinse and repeating with each new manager! ?
01 Sep 2025 11:11:25
I expect we'll bring in Raskin late in the window then possibly Brownhill later on as he's a free agent and can sign anytime.
31 Aug 2025 11:22:20
Krejci played in a back 3 for Sparta and back 4 for Girona. I assume this is one of the main reasons VP wanted him because of his versatility. Personally I don’t know why we don’t play a 3-5-2 formation (or maybe we will) once Tolu comes in. Having two big guys up top and utilising the delivery of Jackson/Wolfe/Hugo with Arias in front of Gomes and Andre just behind the front two seems like a perfect answer when we don’t have the rolls Royce players with technical quality but do have the tackling ability, size and power to bully defenders?
25 Aug 2025 12:09:51
Uche wants to be a striker (according to a Nigerian mate of mine). So I imagine he’ll be used in the Munetsi role. Front three of Arias/JSL/Uche. Leaving Munetsi as cover Andre/Gomes role?
22 Aug 2025 05:20:16
My bad Jack. ??
21 Aug 2025 21:20:12
How do you know he’s not Premier League ready? Murillo, Milenkovic, Van der Ven, Dias, Konate etc etc, all came from other countries top divisions and they turned out alright.
01 Sep 2025 11:12:59
Chelsea have recalled Guiu from Sunderland as cover, can't see them bringing in JSL now.
30 Aug 2025 17:56:06
Agba and Toti will be our downfall.
29 Aug 2025 12:05:09
Who thinks he may rock up at Nottingham Forest this weekend?
26 Aug 2025 23:50:15
It may not be pretty, but Stoke got away with it for years! ?
26 Aug 2025 21:48:44
In agreement with everything you said ordinarywordtree. Also Jackson is rapid!
