Goodwhile - We only have one Championship player, two if you count Doyle, none of our multi Nationals signed to play in the Championship and all were signed with the intention of selling for profit, there's absolutely no basis to think we'll be in any position to mount a promotion challenge, Fosun won't halt the slide that's been five seasons in the making, they don't know how, if they don't leave soon the Club will be looking to the lower Leagues not the Premiership.

Spot on, Ron.

As others have said I am all for Arsenal losing out on title and Spurs being relegated. Awful season for us but should Arteta and Arsenal miss out and Spurs go, that would be excellent.
Don’t particularly like Forest either though. Will we win another game this season?
On this, what is better, for us to lose all remaining games and Rob to leave in the summer, or win a few and Rob stays?
14 Apr 2026 11:41:16
We may not win any more games.
But, if you want Spurs to go down, maybe we have to beat them to help.
I can't see, and hope RE goes, if we don't win any more games.
And he won't have any argument with his stats. It's just what Fosun see it as.
14 Apr 2026 12:00:52
We are in a bad position to be considered for promotion, and Spurs going down will make it even more difficult.
14 Apr 2026 12:51:16
Spurs go down & we have to hope Southampton go up this season, cus them 2 would be strong next season in the Championship. Im struggling to see where we're gonna get another win, tbh. Maybe a draw or 2 is best we can hope for.
14 Apr 2026 12:57:29
If Spurs do get relegated, they will lose 95% of their squad. They may be favourites to come back up on paper, but in reality, they'll struggle, as not many of their players have ever played at the pace of the Championship.
14 Apr 2026 14:46:06
Banksy, I'll go for Arsenal runners-up, Spurs relegated and us to win a few more matches if that's possible.
Be careful what we wish for with Rob. He had Boro in the top two, and they've slipped since he left. He has at least actual experience of promotion and knows Wolves inside out. What's clearly lacking here is a complete absence of top management with local knowledge, in other words, Wolves blood in their veins.
We're just a distant outpost in the far-flung Fosun empire, and when the going got tough, they just replaced one Shi with another. Rob needs a boss and a board of directors with an emotional connection to Wolves.
14 Apr 2026 15:03:34
Stating the obvious, but where we finish next season depends on the recruitment in the summer and the financial position of the club. There is no evidence, for me, we're going to be amongst the top 6 (or 8 with this stupid new rule) next season.
Speaking of the stupid new rule. It's another reason I'm falling out of love with the sport. I want Wolves to do well. It's my club, my town. But modern football is becoming a parody of a competitive sport with each passing season.
14 Apr 2026 18:17:34
I don't think the top brass will sanction many new players. They'll sell Sa, Santi, Andre, Joao and Tchatchoua and expect Johnstone, Lima, Traore, Doyle and Sasa to step in.
14 Apr 2026 19:25:45
If that's correct, Good while, we'll never get out of the Championship, even if Jose Mourinho
took over.

Leeds winning at Man United means that if Forest beat Burnley this weekend and West Ham beat Palace, relegation will be confirmed this weekend.
14 Apr 2026 06:56:55
Well, if hats gonna happen, if we're to win one more game, please let it be over Spurs and drag them down with us. Goodwhile.
The thought that a Big 6 team falling as well would, in some strange strange way, give me some satisfaction.
If the Goners miss out by the odd point too, it'd go some way to seeing that our season wasn't wasted.
14 Apr 2026 08:43:32
The only positive for next season is not having to suffer the ineptitude of VAR.
But, in what is a terrible season, seeing Arsenal lose out and Spurs relegated would soften the blow.
14 Apr 2026 09:38:17
Thing is, tho, Goodwhile, I've said before on here, that I've watched Championship, and under some circumstances I've instinctively wanted VAR to review a decision, but ultimately it's a better watch, fairer acceptance of decisions, and gives us that valuable, old, enjoyable aspect of the game, a debate afterwards.

It's ok sacking manager after manager but that costs money often several millions which is what likely led towards our £15million net loss.
This season is over. Edwards got Boro into top two. We need to give him a few matches in Championship.
I will 100% blame the players; their attitude stinks, including golden boy J. Gomes.
13 Apr 2026 17:11:45
So, Rated, you are prepared for him to be given millions of pounds to sign players. Well, let's hope that they are better than the two signings that he made in the winter window. If not, it will be a bigger cost than sacking him.
13 Apr 2026 17:51:51
Wolves will not be giving millions of pounds to spend on transfers.
It is most likely we will be facing a points deduction.
13 Apr 2026 18:12:23
How do you know that? Have you got a crystal ball or definite inside knowledge.
13 Apr 2026 22:26:40
You're rubbing your hands, QS, you've been waiting for a season like this for a few years so you can say to us "I told you so."
Do I think Rob Edwards was the right appointment? No, but he has experience in the Championship and got Boro into the top two.
14 Apr 2026 06:21:16
We can speculate as much as we like. It is only when we get into the transfer season, we will know how Fosun will play it.
Hopefully with positive intent!
14 Apr 2026 12:04:49
I don't have a crystal ball, but if you can't see what's coming and what has happened to other clubs, then you are not looking deep enough.
To suggest I am rubbing my hands is nonsensical. I am frustrated and angry at the way it has all dissipated.
14 Apr 2026 17:40:19
I was just poking fun at you, QS, mate. I know you're very passionate about Wolves.

Just seen the latest odds on RE getting the sack, 66/1 with Bet Victor, if anyone fancies a punt!! Looks like Arne Slot is favourite for the chop, would like to know the odds on Fosun selling Wolves any time soon. Answers on a postcard.
13 Apr 2026 17:52:27
1,000,000/1.
12 Apr 2026 19:22:30
I think most of us could see how this season would end given our downward spiral over the last few years and we all know why.
However, hands up those who expected Spurs to be increasingly likely to join us? Cue media meltdown if it happens.
12 Apr 2026 20:48:52
The table does seem to confirm that the teams that are run by egotistical people tend to suffer. Us, Spurs, West Ham and Forest all being near the lower reaches of the table proves this.
13 Apr 2026 08:18:06
I did watch some of the Spurs' game; for them to be in danger of relegation is ridiculous. They do like to dive and cheat, though. I think most teams do these days.
13 Apr 2026 09:59:11
At the start of the season, I would never have believed that Spurs might go down. Good's point above, that clubs run by egotistical people tend to suffer, equally applies to countries! This seems to be the year that chickens come home to roost.
13 Apr 2026 10:02:10
A supposed Big Six club in recent years has always been a bad season away. You only have to look at the middle of the league to see how competitive the middle of the league has become.
I thought we'd finish 14th this season with a couple of experienced last-minute additions in August.
Once that didn't happen, we were in trouble. Then, losing to the 3 promoted teams early on, those 9 points lost put the nails in the coffin.
13 Apr 2026 10:13:33
With the record of Rob Edwards in the Premier League, can anyone out there believe that if he was at any other club he would still be in a job? I can't believe he's still there. Unbelievable.
13 Apr 2026 10:46:58
Edwards should not have been appointed. However, a lot of the signings from the previous two windows weren't good enough, and he isn't responsible for that. Also, keep in mind, supposedly the club tried to get GoN first, and there weren't many other takers.
If it's true, Robbie Keane and Allardyce were interested, they would have been better options, albeit for different reasons. Even if Big Sam was a short-term thing until the summer.
Right now, we have a manager who wants to be here, but shouldn't be, who is supposed to be long-term. Getting rid before the summer raises even more questions about the running of the club.
The failures are all down to one thing: recruitment, top to bottom. Too many square pegs in round holes, and people with little to no football experience in the key roles, including the manager.
13 Apr 2026 13:01:30
The appointment of Edwards, who has no track record, underlines Fosun's lack of ambition. Once they had the Brand, and realized what it would cost to compete, they cooled on football. Why would they sack Edwards? He fits the requirement. I wish him well, of course, but managing Wolves with Fosun as owners is a poison chalice.
13 Apr 2026 13:37:05
Why would they sack him? Well, if it continues the way it is, at less than a point a game, we will soon be Conference League. Do you want that?
13 Apr 2026 16:14:10
I partially agree, Wimborne, but I think this is the result of a few things collectively. The PSR rules are a problem whether we like it or not. The club has to operate in them.
However, revenue hasn't grown, the ground investment hasn't been there, and the recruitment has been a shambles. If you don't have the income, you can't attract the best players and pay the wages, and you can't easily correct expensive mistakes from the transfer market. There have been a lot of those.
If you then back that up with no proper sporting director, no commercial directors, poor management of the first team and academies, and you find most signings from January 2025 to September 2025 were shown the door in the last window, you can see the problems.
Any pull Fosun want from Wolves is not as strong in The Championship, and the club is worth a fraction of what it was even 12 months ago. It makes it all quite baffling, as there seems to be no gain at the moment for any party.
14 Apr 2026 09:35:52
B Hill wolf, my comment was not about what I want. I want him to succeed, but it is obvious from the stats that he is not a successful Prem manager. His appointment underlined Fosun's lack of Prem ambition. He has, however, shown ability in the Championship, which I believe could be behind Fosun's thinking.
However, I question Fosun's ambition, and suggest that RE will not get the cash he may wish for to rebuild successfully. The poison chalice.
