Only seen highlights, but looks like we played well. Poor goals conceded, unfortunately, but to score 2 away at Brentford this season is good going.
Maybe we can trust in Rob after all, keep it going please for rest of season. 🤞

A good point away against a team in 7th place. Rob has clearly turned the tide. He took over an unfit, demoralised shambles of a squad. Rome wasn't built in a day. Since the start of the year, his PL stats are: played 12, points 14.

Over a whole season, that equals 44 points and safety. This bodes well for the Championship if Rob is given the opportunity and support.

Deep, excellent post.
However, sadly, the punishment for being relegated, which, as you say, is almost entirely self inflicted and totally baffling, is that you have to hand over most, if not all, of your good players, and for peanuts.
The rumoured price for the best player, ok not everybody on here rates him, but in my view he is a top 4 calibre player, Gomes J, is a pathetic ÂŁ30 -40m!
Consequently, next season's side will be nothing like the side currently playing.

Thus, whilst the current side, as you say, might be a lower mid-table Prem side, and probably a v good bet to do very well in the Championship, the team Wolves are able to put out after handing over the better players is far from certain to be near the top of the Championship!
Thanks, Jeff!

Watched most of the second half. We looked good at times, unlucky hitting the bar and post.

A good point, Future. All players will take a dramatic pay cut and their values will inevitably drop. Hopefully, Shi 2 will insist that, as players are under contract and the club are not under pressure financially to sell (his words a few months ago), then no one will be sold on the cheap.

Personally, I don't see it as Fosun have run the club over the last few seasons and done nothing but sell us fans short. The squad will be very different come August, so although this squad are now producing, will next season?

Future, it is of course a crying shame that Fosun and Jeff have squandered our PL status. I also blame Vito Pereira, whatever was he thinking in the transfer window last summer? He inherited a team with some exceptional players and yet was acquiescent in selling those players without adequate replacements.

He should have raised merry hell instead. We gave him too much credit for saving us from relegation in the prior season, but that was no big deal with the quality we had then, was it? Obviously a 'yes man'. I hope he takes Forest down.

Deep, once again, an excellent post.
To be fair to Vitor, he made it clear he was totally and utterly pee'd off by Jeff and wanted out, but Jeff wouldn't pay him to go, so he stayed.
However, only in body - bit like several of the players - traffic cone, I'm looking at you!
Disgraceful and disrespectful behaviour by all concerned, showing once again what a toxic mess Wolves have/had become under Jeff.

What I can't understand is how a massive multi-billion company like Fosun can have allowed such mismanagement of a not insignificant business for so long?
How did they fail to see what was screamingly obvious in the accounts, for those that read accounts, and on the pitch, for those that can read football pitches, and in the league table for those that can merely read!

Not many teams come back from two down away at Brentford. It bodes well and shows that Re is on the right track though we shouldn’t have to start playing well when we are two down. Team spirit is good, and they are playing for Re. He couldn’t do much more at the moment but did make a mistake in not going for the FA Cup.

If we can build on what we have, we may have a decent Championship team who can give it a go. There are probably six or seven PL teams who are not as good as us at the moment, but that doesn’t help us in our position.

In New Zealand, I have the privilege of watching all games live. Now, did anyone else notice very few players acknowledged Armstrong after his goal, and none celebrated?
Most strange.

Didn't notice at the time positively negative, but then I was celebrating myself. Looking at the stills this morning, it does seem as if Armstrong himself was subdued in his goal and Mane and Kreiji were the only ones offering a hand of congratulations. I'm sure there was more than that, but maybe lost by TV viewers due to our own excitement and the TV replays etc.
What a game of halves tho? First, we seemed lethargic and careless again, showing why we're bottom of the table. Armstrong tho was having possibly his best game so far and his cracker lifted the spirit just before HT.

In the second, with Mane's removal, who, to be honest, had been very poor, and Angel bolstering MF, we came out fighting. Jackson started putting a shift in, and Hugo had woken up on the left.
So unlucky not to have nicked it. Equally, we were lucky when the Brentford lad shouldered it instead of getting his head to it.
It's all abit too late now, but at least we are still capable of giving it abit of effort for these final games.

Another great comeback, no doubt, Wsd, but why do we seem to need to concede early in order to wake up and start playing?

I've generally not been over impressed with Angel Gomes so far, but his performance second half changed the game, putting some control back into the midfield.

As for Re being the one to get us back up, we'll see, but Fosun will need to play their part and fully back him in the Summer.

Spot on, Longmynd. I understand and sympathise with your reservations about Angel Gomes in his first few matches, and, like you, was much more encouraged by his performance when he came on as sub last night. I wonder if I was maybe being a bit too unrealistic in my expectations of him, taking it for granted he would settle in immediately, and start putting in the sort of performances that earned him a handful of England caps a while ago. He's been playing abroad for a good while now, and the adjustment to the pace and physicality of the Prem almost certainly needs time and another level of fitness.

I think he worked well with Joao and Andre, knitting things together and getting us upfield in a more coherent manner than we managed in the first half, where we either dithered on the ball while trying to play out from the back, or resorted to hoofing it into vacant territory for Armstrong to chase. He strikes me as a fairly diffident sort of character, and maybe he just needs to feel he's totally accepted by his fellow players and fans alike. A few more contributions like last night may just do him the world of good.

2-2 is a fair result. We was very poor first half, Armstrong's goal sparked us, both Armstrong and Tolu both unlucky not to have had a brace.

2

16 Mar 2026 21:59:20
Shame. We should have won that. Gomes should have come on sooner and Tolu! We needed to attack more second half.

16 Mar 2026 21:00:24
Cracking finish, Armstrong. Great touch to set himself up. Hopefully we play much better second half.

Frustrating first half. HB is having an absolute mare. Hope RE sorts him out for the second half, or replaced him early on.

Shame that Chelsea just get a slap on the wrist. A small fine that they can easily pay and a transfer ban for those secret payments to agents. They should have had a massive points reduction to put them in the relegation zone!

2

16 Mar 2026 17:31:36
Even the transfer ban is suspended for 2 years, I think, VB. Meanwhile, Leicester are facing League One next year because of points deduction, and still we await the City saga to come to an end. What will happen there? Do a hundred lines and pay the equivalent of one Haaland toe?

3

16 Mar 2026 18:14:55
Whilst I generally agree with your premise (e.g. what's happened to City's fines?), this is very different. It happened under the last regime, and the current regime reported it. I'm not Chelsea's biggest fan, but it would seem a little harsh to give them a points deduction when it was a different owner and they reported it themselves?

4

16 Mar 2026 19:55:49
That's a fair point, Bullys. It's just the imbalance of punishment, or the impression of, that grinds.

2

17 Mar 2026 11:58:26
Did Chelsea report it to try and soften what they know is possibly on the horizon?
You don't shoot yourself in the foot for no reason, they might have been tipped off and decided to jump before being pushed.

The way results have gone, even Leeds could go down. They are on 32 points. Thought they were well clear but not now. Forest, Spurs and West Ham all drawing.

2

15 Mar 2026 14:34:14
After Monday's match, we don't play again for 3 weeks.

15 Mar 2026 17:31:17
The question is whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

3

16 Mar 2026 07:30:30
That'll depend on how we play, and the result tonight, I guess, Ilkley!?

1

15 Mar 2026 11:53:04
Seems to me that Nuno will keep West Ham up, either Spurs or Forest to go for me. Would love for us to miraculously stay up and they both go. Realise not going to happen, aim should be to win as many games as possible and hope we can catch Burnley.

Positive step from Shi 2, maybe there are plans in place after all, we will see.

1

15 Mar 2026 13:30:40.
Let's hope so, Banksy, otherwise Fosun seriously need to do one. Maybe they have some pride after all, and hopefully Shi 2 knows his job better than Shi 1.

I realise that we will lose even more players in the Summer, but what concerns me is the rebuild.

Do we have the necessary inhouse recruitment capability, as they won't have the 'pull' of the Premier League to rely on this time.

15 Mar 2026 15:05:22
Let's see what happens when the season is over. Personally, I'm 95 percent about renewal at the moment, mainly because I'm not convinced with RE, not happy with the two signings that he's made as yet. Can't see us finishing in the playoffs, let alone automatically being promoted. Hope I'm wrong, but we have to see if the summer signings are any better.

1

15 Mar 2026 15:33:43
I meant 95 percent against renewal.

Does anyone know if the women's match v Burnley today 14:00 is on the radio anywhere? Could decide if they get promoted.

I think you can listen to it through the Wolves app.

OK, thanks De Wolf.
