I hope Fer Lopez realises he is literally now a cult hero with the old Gold masses.
That one little flick, that one deft little finish, may have just been another goal, but to score the goal that ensures three points off the unwashed, is priceless.

No matter how long he stays, wherever he ends up playing, his name will be remembered by the faithful for eternity.

If only we had won the games against them where Fabio Silva scored, it could have been so different for him. Well maybe not but a shame he didn't get more credit for those goals.

Wolves were superb against the Albion. The Wolves fans were also different gravy.

Never been more proud to be a Wolves fan. The atmosphere was incredible.

Trippier and Andre were superb all game. People have been criticising Trippier for a few misplaced passes, but for me he was superb all game. He brings so much quality to the Wolves team. My favourite moment was when he pulled up Jay Jay Morgan (who was a disgrace all game) and put his arm around him, after Morgan's snide tackle, to quietly say "don't ever do that again”.

To give credit where it's due (and speaking as someone who's had real doubts about Toti in the past), I have to admit that both he and Djiga played yesterday like men possessed, launching themselves into tackles and winning just about every aerial duel on the halfway line. Both of them dominated their opposing players who are unlikely to take such a battering for the rest of the season, and across the park Wolves won more 50/50 battles in one game than I've seen from them in ages.

I also had a few reservations about the appointment of Peixoto (wounded so many times by past experience) but I'm liking this guy more and more with every passing week. It's so refreshing to see a Wolves team playing with passion and looking to get forward in numbers. The press is so well organised and yesterday wasn't the first time it's led to a goal or, at worst, put us right on the front foot. This squad seems to be responding so positively to whatever Peixoto asks of them and even though there's a long way to go till the end of the season, I can't help getting excited about the possibilities. A quick shout out for the fans too. they were magnificent yesterday and the songs for Ruben and Raul brought a lump to the throat. Hail Cesar.

Unfortunately i work with a few WBA fans but to be fair they were humble in defeat. Djiga and Toti got mentioned as like you said they won everything in the air. That was good tactics because we pressed to stop them from playing out which resulted in them going for the long ball which we won every time. It was great to see them both just throwing themselves at those 50/50 duals. WBA just didn't know what to do and i think quality and bravery was not there for them.

Simple answer Preston is because none of those actually sent on loan were anywhere near good enough for the premier league. Need to remember we're now in a division below where most opponents are much inferior. Hugo was on loan the season before by the way.

Rated interesting question.
1 As pointed out by "Old" the team are playing at a much much lower level.
2 Several of the players as Preston pointed out - Fer Lopez as well by the way - were not with the side last year, (nor of course was Trippier, James or Raul - whilst only Gomes J who would strengthen the side has been lost).
But 3 Cesar does seem to have got them playing faster and with more verve.
Overall I suspect this side, playing as it is, would still have been relegated, (and badly), but I agree nothing like as abjectly as the side was last year.


However onwards and upwards.
I think there is still improvement to be made - chance conversion especially is low - but should improve once Raul is fully firing.
Plus surely in January if the side is looking likely to be promoted the club will be active in the market ahead of the summer window.
Signing the rough diamonds like Lankshear, Vitek, Ballard etc etc foolishly missed this summer that hopefully can be polished into Prem league players and one or two more experienced gems - Neves - although DM is not an obvious position to be strengthening - anyone?

Rated, I think the real damage was done in the summer 2025 transfer window. If Cesar had been appointed when VP was sacked, I think he would have given us a better chance of survival then under Rob. Who knows now, but if we had picked up points by Xmas 2025 maybe intelligent signings in the January transfer window might have made a difference? It would have been a poisoned chalice for Cesar, instead of the real opportunity he has now in the champ.

Can't change the past but Cesar has the ability to take us up as Nuno did in 2017/8.

I think every position will need strengthening Future if we go up. Some more obvious than others of course. Most evident improvers so far this season are Djiga who is showing real promise after his disastrous early season start at Rangers and Lopez. If they continue on an upwards trajectory both could be real assets next season.

Vitinha plays centre midfield at PSG, Goncalo Guedes came off the bench fir Real sociedad in the Europa league and transformed their play in the week. Fabio still not setting the world on fire in Germany. Makes me wonder if something at our club needs addressing or some of these players just didn't want to be there/attitude issues.

Old at the moment Andre, Krejci and Lopez are, for me at least, def Prem class.
Djiga, Gomes, James and Mane might get there.
So I don't think every position needs upgrading but I agree.


Sa, Bueno and maybe one or two others might be squad players.
But 5 or 6 first team players are needed and maybe another 3 or 4 options.
Arddunby I strongly suspect you have a point.

Cracking result. team effort outstanding their goalie saved them a drubbing but best of all not having to wait 5minutes for VAR to say you can celebrate even if the ref gets decision wrong because he's human it's so much more enjoyable.

It was a great result KH, no doubt and it could have been more. West Brom seemed overwhelmed by CP's style of play but one thing is worth comment, Fer Lopez is some player who makes difficult chances look really easy, they're not. That little dink over an advancing keeper who already saved them on a number of occasions was sublime.

A great team performance. As you say Long, the finish was sublime and hasn't received the plaudits deserved.
On big factor yesterday was having Trippier on the pitch. His leadership and ball distribution just raises the team.
