I am still optimistic we will be fine to stay up, but I think a turnaround will be slow. I agree with many that Agbadou is not playing well. I think he needs to be benched for a couple of games to sort his head. Comments about Sa to be dropped are interesting since so many posters absolutely trashed Johnstone last year. I prefer Johnstone over Sa, because he is quicker, better to clear crosses around the box and better with his feet. I believe he would have punched the DCL header away and I also don't think he would have been beaten on the free kick. In place of Bellegarde I prefer Arias or start JSL with Tolu to see if they can start to mesh together.

I think all we have the moment NJ, is hope.
2.) 21 Sep 2025 07:09:27
I always believed that in recent years NJ, at some point in the season they will turn it around and survive at this level. I think we all hope for that to happen again this year but it's hard to see who's likely to lead that revival at the moment.
A lot of talent left again during the Summer with little evidence so far that their replacements, in the main, are good enough. Is it them, is it VP's team selection? It's hard to see the wood from the trees right now but the chances of us picking up any points during August and September always seemed remote to me and so it's transpiring.
Everyone will have an opinion of course but I think we all know the root cause of our progressive 'decline' or should do.

Totally agree NJWolf.
For a long time now I’ve said we needed a replacement goalie and, having seen Johnstone in action recently, he IS the better choice.
Don’t know why Agbadou has lost his confidence but we need him as our rock at the back. Don’t like Toti and the jury’s still out on Mosquera.
What happened to our team spirit? ?

The transfer window was our downfall, scrambling around in the last week and paying over the odds for inferior players. Krejci was offered to another club for almost half what we payed, clubs knew we are run by amateurs. Do they even scout players before doling out millions? We buy a centre half and play him in midfield yet we have a c/half who is a liability at the moment.
5.) 21 Sep 2025 11:05:51
Krejci was mainly a midfielder at Sparta and scored 13 then 8 goals in consequetive seasons before moving to Girona and playing at centre half. Bit like Saiss. Having said that I think my nan, who'd now be in her 130's, would do better than our three centre halves from yesterday!

Everyone calm down. We will be fine. VP will sort the defense. I expect some changes in mid week vs Everton.
1.) 20 Sep 2025 20:21:55
The problem is that the defence was worse today than it has been the last two games. For your premise to be true things should be improving and that just isn't the case I'm afraid. We were unlucky against Newc but today we weren't, we didn't look like scoring often enough but they scored three fairly easily, not good enough at home against one of the weakest teams in this league! And to be honest I couldn't care less about the team against Everton, that's a cup game what mattered was a win (or even just not losing) today and we didn't even turn up! ?

BullysBoy ll just put a post on the Everton game not through yet have a read see what you think.

MU v MC game today, both Cunha and RAN not in lineups due to injuries. So, if they had been w Wolves they wouldn't have helped us yesterday.
1.) 14 Sep 2025 18:51:00
How did you come to that way of thinking if they were both still at wolves it would off been a total different situation and they might not of been injured
2.) 14 Sep 2025 20:00:34
Exactly what I was thinking James.?
3.) 14 Sep 2025 20:12:45
Then again maybe they would have gotten a different injury or they would have scored 3 goals each for Wolves. Lmao
4.) 15 Sep 2025 08:08:00
It's still raining out then. If it hadn't been I'd of gone out.
5.) 15 Sep 2025 14:23:34
As long as we have this obligation to play Whang we are snookered. If that is not VP idea he shou!d walk away he's on hiding to nothing . Hwang wouldn't get a place in any other Premier club. If it's the choice of VP then we should get ready for Championship football. It's sad the way the club has unravelled.
13 Sep 2025 18:03:56
It's probably been a year since I last posted, but I've been reading all the comments from everyone. I've been watching all the games and I wasn't panicked last year and I'm not in panic mode now.
Although I didn't want to lose Cunha, I think it was the right move since we needed multiple position improvements and need funds to accommodate. I also think selling RAN was the right call as he wasn't really much help defensively and even offensively didn't do much except do some fancy skill moves at times.
I think we did well overall with replacements. It would have been better to have got them in sooner, but that is not always easy. I like the roster now, with a few exceptions (mainly Hwang), but it will take time to completely gel with so many new people.
The offense will take the longest to settle, but JSL with Tolu upfront could be a formidable pairing. I'm excited to see the two of them together at some point. Midfield is pretty solid with lots of options to use. I don't think the defense was so bad today, especially considering the Newcastle offensive firepower. They were always going to get some chances. High ball crosses into the box are just lucky sometimes that they fall into the right spot in between defenders or defenders are outjumped. I like the Mosquera, Agbadou, Toti grouping or the switch with Krejci in the middle.
Keep the faith everyone.give VP some time to mold this team!
1.) 13 Sep 2025 19:07:44
Sorry no but that tolu is not a premier league player and none of the other signings either. We are not ok by any means. Can't keep blaming hwang. Toti.munetsi. agbadou bellegarde.are all playing like they don't know each other. Leeds game is massive win and there's hope but losing could be catastrophy and that's when I think vp will walk. This is only my opinion as a wolves fan since 1965. I really do hope I'm wrong
2.) 13 Sep 2025 21:26:25
Njwolf.next time u post then wel be in the championship.simple as that.wake up buddy.wer in big trouble this ssn.its easy to see we are clueless.and vp doesn't know his best11 or formation.need a goal and bring on munetsi.sez it all?
3.) 14 Sep 2025 01:22:26
Lexluna. You've already determined Tolu isn't "Premier League quality" based on his first 60 mins or so with a new team in a new league. Ha, ha, ha.
Buxwolf. That may be the case that Wolves don't stay up this year, but I think we will be fine. I don't think VP knows his best 11 yet either, but I think he is getting closer.

I watched the replay of the game and replays of replays.
Although I don't think he should be on the field much, if at all, Hwang wasn't terrible. He started pretty good, but then his involvement dropped as the half went on. He had a terrible pass on an attack that turned into a goal opportunity for Spurs. I think his reaction to that turnover determined VP to make a change. Bellegarde added some energy.
Santi had a great game. He was hustling all over the pitch. Even after the tying goal he made and impressive tackle on the right side, made a perfect pass to Munetsi (I think) in middle and then made a good run to the right wing all alone. Unfortunately the ball was distributed over to the left side into traffic. The goal against was not his fault, he was marked to back of the player who laid the ball off. It was just an unfortunate great shot by Palhinha. Johnstone didn't have sight so he had no chance.
I like Doc, he is smart, but when opponent has a pacey winger, he struggles to keep up at times. That led to his YC with a reckless tackle. Bringing Agbadou on was the right call. Agdabou played ok.
Jackson needs to be starting on the right. His pace causes trouble and he is aggressive and willing to make crosses into the box. If we put both JSL and Tolu together, those crosses will be converted to goals.
The 1st half we got lucky a few times as Spurs almost had a couple of goals. But we dominated the 2nd half, better possession and more offense and less sitting back on our heels.
I still think we are working on our best 11 and formation, but it is getting closer.

True Abbey, that understanding of teammates movements is something that takes time with new players. I have mentioned before with so many new players it will take time to gel. It isn't always poor runs or movement. Sometimes the player on the ball doesn't see it or anticipate the move and rather than take a gamble, they instead pass sideways or back to maintain possession. I do understand the frustration but sometimes our overview from above on TV is easier to see the pass, whereas on the field the view of player w ball is not as clear. As you know there is strategy in moving the ball side to side. The opposition may not move their defenses adequately and leave an opening for a through ball. Many think it is pointless, but that isn't really the case most times.
24 Sep 2025 15:34:38
Gig. What game did you watch?
I also question when people complain about passing sideways/backwards or say there is no creativity. There are times when the pass forward is not a good option and opposition has shut down passing lanes and need to reset before going forward again. If you keep possession, the opposition has less chance to score. Regarding creativity, there is creativity many times with ball or player movement, but it doesn't end up to a goal. So be careful to separate lack of creativity from lack of goal scoring success.

I still think we will survive.
