Trippier will be a great signing, proper leader. Raul, next?

Calling it now... New kit reveal with Jiminez signing. 🤞🤞

Trippier agrees a 2 year deal with an option of a further year. Wolves must be putting him through his coaching badges that's what he wants.

Great news!

Great start to the window. We need a captain, and I suspect that he will be it. The timing also explains why Doherty has just thrown his toys out the pram. As I said before, I have no sympathy for Matt.

When he left for Spurs, he couldn't get out quick enough, and we should never have re-signed him at the wages he demanded! Onwards and upwards. Just need some decent/youngish cbs now, and we are on our way. 👍

I admit that I have been very critical of Fosun, Nathan Shi, Matt Jackson, and Rob Edwards, but the contract extension of Andre, and now the imminent arrival of Trippier, will mean that I will soon be closer to eating a slice of Humble Pie.

Looks like Fosun do mean business again.

Wolves agreed deal with Trippier 2 years with option for a 3rd.

Re say he wants a team the fans can get behind. Is he the manager/ coach the fans can get behind.

Intriguing and positive quote by Andre below when he signed his new contract:

"With the players who are coming in. I believe it will be a very strong squad in which Rob Edwards will have complete control of the situation."

Wolves agree deal to sign Kieran Trippier, pending medical, when he returns from holiday.

Good news, Boz.

My opinion is that last summer the jury was out on JSL. He had a good season for us but was he just a journeyman striker having a purple patch? That purple patch was facilitated by the sublime talents of players since sold off by Jeff.

Newcastle thought not and were prepared to pay £50mil plus. As far as I am concerned, the verdict is guilty. We finally dodged a bullet when we offloaded him to Palace.

Let's wait and see what he does this season, Deep. With a full season in a proper Prem club, run by pros rather than the absolute nonsense he had to put up with at our place this season. The reality is that if two teams were offering £45-50m for him, then they must have seen something to justify those offers.

In fairness to him, it's hard to score with no service, and this season "no service" is, in fact, an overstatement for the attacking opportunities we offered. 👍

28 May 2026 18:11:05
Let's see, Bully, but he's had a few months in a good Palace team and he's finding it hard to score even with proper service. Could be a one-season wonder.

28 May 2026 22:14:36
He's not our player any more. Move on.

If you want a real laugh, I see Jamie Vardy (39) is looking for a club closer to his family's home in Leicester 😂 after his team in Italy were relegated.

Anyone fancy Harvey Elliot on loa from Liverpool with obligation to buy for 25mill if promoted. Played in Championship before, could be a good option.

6

28 May 2026 13:13:24
Would be a great signing, but sadly there will be a few Premier League clubs fighting for him. I think Wolves want a few UK players in the starting XI, but they're bloomin' expensive, especially the English players.

3

28 May 2026 15:34:35
That's the reason Wolves always buy from Portugal, better value if you buy the right ones. But, in the Championship, got to get some English players in, and fast, to get them gelled in pre-season.

Has Jorgen Strand Larsen been injured at Palace, or is he an overrated player who got lucky thanks to having Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha feeding him chance after chance?

Every time I now check up on Palace, he's not in the team, and when he is he can't score. I watched one Palace game and he was awful.

28 May 2026 00:28:18
The awful ex-striker picks up a winner's medal. We were so far in front of these lot a few seasons ago. Unforgivable.

Please, let's have some reality on where/who Wolves are as a club. Crystal Palace has been in the Premier League for 13 or 14 seasons. They've had two FA Cup finals, one FA Cup final win, a Community Shield win, and now a Conference League win. Even when Wolves had a short spell above Palace, they won nothing.

Two 7th place finishes in the PL, an FA Cup semi-final, and a Europa League quarter-final don't make Wolves the incredible side that enjoyed years of sustained success, but then threw everything away.

It could be argued that Wolves simply punched above their weight for a short while and then fell away.

Wolves have spent more time in the Championship than the Premier League. Promotion next season is possible, but they'll likely struggle when back in the PL.

Everyone keeps calling JSL awful, personally I thought he had a very good first season. Ok, he fell away after, but was this due to injuries or poor tactics? Look who we have ended up with now in the number 9 shirt, all huff and puff with no end product, and he's more appreciated for it.

Ice, your comments are not good enough. We are a club with a losing mentality. Strand Larssen, yet another who has stuck two fingers up at us. Shi and Fosun have made sure our heritage has waned even further. We can only sit back and watch as others continue to move forwards by legal, or in certain cases, illegal means.

Sit back and admire in wonder at the arrogance of others as they tell Talksport they are "going to be the biggest club in the world".
We have to accept everything and anything associated with Wolverhampton Wanderers amounts to failure.

Like any organisation, it's about getting key personnel into the critical positions and holding on to them. If you can't do that, you need to be able to replace them and to anticipate that change occurring. The winning mentality will evolve naturally if the recruitment at all levels is good, and improvement is visible to all.

Fosun made a good start, but were unable to build on those first two seasons.

Change management in any organisation is incredibly difficult, and probably impossible other than by luck with the wrong people at the top.

Liverpool's transition from Shankly to Paisley overnight is a perfect example, something Man Utd post Busby and Ferguson couldn't manage. In reality, most clubs have never transitioned seamlessly from success to success. It will be interesting to see what happens at Man City.

Everyone seem pleased Andre has signed 4yr deal vgopd but contracts mean nothing when someone comes in with big bid re - Cunha. 🤞🏽

27 May 2026 21:50:43
I can't see Andre going anywhere. He'll give Wolves one chance to get promoted. Obviously, if Wolves don't go straight back up, then they'll lose him - and many others. Fosun can't make any mistakes.

3

27 May 2026 17:27:49
Nuno committed to West Ham. Think we all just want things to improve and have little or no confidence in things getting better under Rob.
Time will tell, hopefully with the addition of new players we will see a big improvement but not convinced.

2

27 May 2026 18:10:16
It's not under Rob, is it? It's under anyone Fosun employs as Head Coach. Pep would've struggled with this lot. If the standard of players they recruit don't meet Andre's expectations, he'll be off in January, four-year contract or not.

Happy as ever, Ron.

Rob's been here for over six months now. That's long enough to expect an improvement in play! As for signings, he picked Angel Gomes and Adam Armstrong. Do either of those two look like they are setting the world on fire? At what point does Rob actually have any responsibility for the job he is being handsomely paid for? Honestly, to read one or two on here, you'd think the guy was an 18 year old apprentice! Scott Parker had a worse squad and failed to get the playing; it cost him his job.

For some reason Rob seems immune from such pressures and expectation. What a lovely position to be in. Do well and you're a good manager, do badly and it's everyone else's fault. Must be lovely. 😂

27 May 2026 19:58:18
Well said BB II, I agree with you.
Rob must be very convincing when talking to Shi 2. I can only assume Nathan is happy to keep Rob and provide him the chance in the Championship to prove himself.
I realise our players are not the best, however, like you say, Rob's job is to get the best out of them and play a system to suit.

At any other club he would be gone. I just hope we are not struggling in the Championship when they do decide to replace him. To me, that seems the most likely outcome, unfortunately.

28 May 2026 00:35:25
Please don't talk Nuno & Edwards in the same sentence. They are worlds apart. Sorry, but for me, Edwards would be gone 15 mins after Burnley game... Nobody, and I mean nobody, can work out what he's trying to do or what style of football we play... Needs sacking now for the sake of our club.

8

28 May 2026 12:02:54
Agree with you there, Lexluna. I was prepared to give him a chance, accepting our position when he arrived. I was prepared to ride out some bad games as he transitioned the team and club, but have we seen any transitions?
OK, we have only acquired Armstrong and Angel, the latter is weak and ineffective, the former full of endeavour but short in produce.

He's going to have to find practically a new team if all the expected departures occur, and we've no sign of any style or intention, and certainly no identity.

So who and what will he be looking for?

Fosun and the Shis' don't seem to care, and if there's no pressure from above, there's no concern beneath.
Fans can only influence by showing disapproval, but RE always seems to have seen a different game to the rest of us.

If Fosun don't care, if Fosun don't listen, we'll be stuck with things as they are and struggling.
If they do care, then they are looking for a replacement now, and RE will be going ASAP.

We will know after the first 6 games if he has a team playing well.
