To be honest Suffolk buddy I don't for a second believe that the club are considering him. They had the whole of pre season to offer him a trial and they didn't, pretty sure it's just click bait ?

Totally agree abbey were top of the league at shooting ourselves in foot as long as we pick up a point happy days if we get win think we’re safe?

Well we got through it Suffolk despite fluffing further goal attempts. It's a big big 3 points and the jobs been done.
9 points clear, for once I'm wanting the red mancs to win tomorrow night.
Well done to strand today, lovely taken goals, what a shame others couldn't hit the target.!
Onwards and upwards, keeping the faith, COYW

Happy when final whistle went we always put are self in a position where they leave us fans butting our nails but at end of day we’re safe so let’s plan for next season have to move a few players out or we will be in same position next season.coyw ?

Feel we are in trouble now will be interesting to see which players stand up to the task of getting the goals needed in next 3games as we’ve been relying on cunha to much

SuffolkWolf

1.) 03 Mar 2025 06:37:19
Maybe Suffolk, but maybe we've played 'to' cunha as a one trick team, sure, as on Saturday, he can create something out of nothing but I think we can create the opportunity for others to shine. Larsen for example, he's a big lad can hold the ball up, he as a poachers eye, but he has to be allowed to get in the positions.
Some long balls up for him, some crosses into the area, some shots for him to mop up when blocked or parried.
Where they come from tho?. Marshal in a more forward midfield placemen?, Guedes if fit. Hwang? Lima in an advanced WB, RAN being more direct? Not playing the ball from the back from goal kicks etc.
My point is we've obviously got to adapt and become more attack minded as a body, difficult with the defensive frailties we have I know but I believe VP can work it.
I thought Pond gave a good account of himself on sat, we have Mane and Angel from U21 who may surprise if given opportunity. And, if we're honest, cunha dosnt always contribute fully to the team when he goes missing wandering around.
Don't get me wrong, cunha will be a big loss purely from not distracting the opposition defence, but we can, will, must survive without him.

2.) 03 Mar 2025 07:18:22
Must be so difficult to manage Cunha, talented, caring (recent hospital visit), but moody (all game his body language was poor) and reckless.
Anyway as you say Abbey, irrelevant for at least 3 games.
Can this group show more character than we are seeing and secure our
Premiership status? I hope so, but not confident.

3.) 03 Mar 2025 10:26:42
We’re going to have to figure it out for next season anyway, so it’s a big chance for someone else to step up, I think Munetsi could be that midfielder

4.) 03 Mar 2025 12:59:37
With Cunha being the undoubted star of the team he tends to get frustrated with everyone else. Bit like former great players like Lampard, Rooney, Hoddle, Keane etc failing as managers because they can't truly understand lesser talent. I'm sure Cunha will thrive elsewhere if someone will take a chance on him, a bit like the ABBA song!

Sa is playing much better now we have a better goalie on the bench. I said at the start of the season that Bentley wasn’t good enough, but certain posters put me down think I was probably right.

SuffolkWolf

1.) 24 Feb 2025 19:20:08
Who disagreed that Bentley wasn't good enough cause anyone that's watched him could see that! Here's the question though is Johnstone good enough? Cause if not why exactly have we spent £10m on an aging keeper that's also not good enough?
Also sorry to say it but all you've done there is a good old dose of confirmation bias! Sa had his best season the year he came, he was nominated for signing of the season remind me who was the back up then? It was Bentley wasn't it, like I said confirmation bias! Sa was bang average at the start of the season, ya know when we benched him despite Johnstone being here. So is it not at all possible/likely that the reason he's improved is simply because he responds better to a coach who shares his nationality?

2.) 24 Feb 2025 21:23:45
The defence collectively improving is clearly a factor.

3.) 25 Feb 2025 03:18:51
Defence as certainy supported goalkeeping. I do think to improve the team we most definitely require a new number 1.Sa kicking was awful on Saturday.

27 Aug 2024 17:51:04
Acle correct about goalie back up I stated this couple weeks ago about Bentley not good enough as back up but shot down about it I’ve followed wolves for for over 65years like to think I know a little about how football clubs work

SuffolkWolf

1.) 27 Aug 2024 18:38:56
If rumours are to be believed then we are signing Johnstone to replace Sa. So realistically our back up will remain unchanged and still be Bentley!
I think you have missed the point some (like myself) were making and that is that we agree that Bentley is an average back up. But then so are most back up keepers because outside of the top 4 not many clubs can afford to pay two decent gk wages. It's nothing to do with doubting your opnion it's simply the financial realities of where the club finds itself! ?

2.) 28 Aug 2024 07:08:52
Would prefer it, if we kept negotiating for Ramsdale. Younger than both Sa and Johnstone. Perhaps more importantly, he is more likely to be an ever present, whereas both Sa and Johnstone have had injury concerns last season.

3.) 28 Aug 2024 10:16:46
I get what your saying Wolf but in reality there's only SO far negotiation will go! I suspect Arsenal want around £25m and I suspect he will want to maintain most of his £150k a week wage, they aren't EVER going to be able to negotiate those fees to even half which would STILL be more than I suspect the Johnstone deal is costing us.
