Forgot this one Dmac
Total touches inside the opposition box
SHU 19
WOL 31
Ffs get your facts righ!!! You’re right, it wasn’t pretty at time but at this stage it’s a win and clean sheet. Job done!!

3 points is 3 points. Not pretty, but a good result. Win against the Baggies next Sunday, then international break. Time for bodies to recover, and be close to full strength for the Boro. Think that will be the real test, which dictates whether we are genuine promotion candidates.

Happy with the 3 points, not the best performance but I did think overall we were the better side, just.
I agree with others, not sure how Munetsi starts ahead of James. R. Gomes good first half but think he was injured and taken off.
Mane kept trying but overall not the best and likewise Armstrong.
Hope new players with returning ones can help us improve, worried now as well as Toti back on and gave the ball away dangerously not long after coming on.
Sa gets pushed over too easily and is always looking for a foul, just a matter of time before this costs us a goal.
Apart from all that we doing well. 👍

Si Senor! We have a serious squad, 3 points off top with game in hand, players still to be fit and Boggies next! Hope Djiga is ok, cos he has been tremendous!!! FWAW. 🐺

I see Wolves Women got their first win today, 3-1 against Shef Utd. Congrats to them for their first win in the WSL2.

Good to hear Goat, thanks for update.

All this about the prem is a bit premature. We got to get up in really strong championship league, only 5 games in, but we don't look like a top 2 side.
13 Sep 2026 14:06:35
No, we certainly don't. 3 points today, but we are so sloppy at times. A better team than Sheffield would've finished us off, much like West Ham did.
13 Sep 2026 14:16:09
Wolf1, totally agree that the performance was shocking. Second half, no shots at goal, no touches in the box, astonishing. Till the last 15 minutes, I think, unbloody believable. Why is James not playing? Best player in the league last season, but Munetsi starts in front of him. Armstrong runs around alot but nowt else. Once again, lucky to get anything, never mind 3 points.
13 Sep 2026 14:27:18
Agree with all the above. Great to secure 3 points, but the team looks disjointed and not convincing.
Manager needs to sort out the line up. James, Tripper (I know, fitness issues) and I would say Doyle must become starters.
Current starting 11 not quite right.
13 Sep 2026 14:56:08
Some of you are seemingly always unhappy. We draw 2-2 and the defense is the problem. We win 1-0 and the offense isn't good enough.
Yes, there were a few spells where we didn't have control, but overall we dominated this game.
The only time I was a bit uneasy was on corners and long throw-ins when Sa had to go up to catch the ball. He's never confident to hold on, and constantly drops the ball. Maybe he should switch to punching the ball instead?
13 Sep 2026 15:13:52
Were you watching the same game? Second half, SU had 9 attempts at goal, Wolves none. 20 touches in Wolves 18 yard box, Wolves had none in theirs, until the last 10 to 15 minutes, and Wolves controlled the game. Wolves were very lucky to get anything. Set up not right.
Munetsi in front of James, not right. Armstrong in front of Jimenez, not right. Toti, on as sub, playing RB, can't kick a ball with his left foot, never mind RF. And you think that was a good performance? I'm sorry, it was crap for most parts, till Jimenez scored.
13 Sep 2026 15:27:16
DMac, where did you see 9 attempts at goal for SU? I see stats showing 4 shots/2 on target for SU for the whole game. And, just because touches in the box don't mean anything if you don't get shots that are on target. Our defense was pretty tight as they got close, so good job by our backline.

NJ, I take it you and one or two others are being mischievous.
Optimism is good, but facts are what views should be based on.
Based on those, we are not improving, say, like WH.
The manager has much to consider before we can challenge the top sides.
We all hope we can, but the stats currently say otherwise.
13 Sep 2026 15:55:55
Rugeley, what "facts" are you speaking of? To me, you are only offering opinion also, but no facts or stats. Plus, if you know anything about stats, they can be read in different ways to prove a point. IMO, we were in control of the game, the only question was if we could put one in.
Another thing I notice with many posts is the opposition never seems to be given credit for their play; it is always our players who don't do this or that.
13 Sep 2026 15:58:16
We seem to be watching different games. Yes, we gave the ball away too easily at times. Yes, Sa didn't always catch the ball. Was he fouled on those occasions? Coz we were certainly awarded kicks, and Bamford etc had been set up to nudge him at every chance.
We had far more 'attempts' than they did.
Munetsi could/should have had us 2 up in the first half.
Most long balls were over hit, or maybe Armstrong would have been on some.
If I'm going to pick a fault, it's with Mane today. He seems to look for a defender to run towards instead of getting the ball away, and our corners are almost so predictable.
SU set out to defend, and employ the old 'clip his heel', 'elbows out' and body nudges. Fortunately, the ref got in with a yellow early doors when their lad clipped Fer.
Two other calls for penalties were not given, and there was an inspired persistence to the end, with Andre, who was immense, Tripps and Raul providing via Doyle. All 3 points.
Good game, well won, and despite frustrations, a hope for better things to come. Hopefully next week.

I didn't see the game, as I'm in France playing cricket, but judging from the stats I see we had 16 shots to their 6. So, sounds like we did ok. Admittedly, stats don't tell the whole tale, so will have to take what people say.
Although hard to judge when some people say 9 shots second half compared to 4. Who knows what to believe. 🤣
13 Sep 2026 16:32:57
I agree, Abbey. Every team is now bumping Sa, or at least trying to cause him to be tentative. Luckily, we did get some foul calls when that happened, but I don't agree that all should have been considered fouls. Sa opens himself up to this from the opposition because he can't catch or defend the high ball very well.
If he did, they wouldn't waste their time trying to disrupt him. This has always been a major weakness for Sa. Unfortunately, he will never get better with it.
Until Said comes back, I don't see CP as having much of a choice but to continue to use Mane in games. Much like Tchat's continual use until Trip returned.

NJ, a few from other posters. Just one to add, in terms of goals conceded, we are 12thish.
I agree, today just about edged it, but Su are mid-table mediocrity. Surely we should be measuring ourselves against the top 2/3 sides?
I hope as much as you.
We are in the top 2 at the end of the season; we just seem to see the current situation differently.
13 Sep 2026 18:54:26
It's all good, Rugeley. We can all have differing opinions. I'm more glass-half-full in my optimism than glass-half-empty, especially considering we only just played game 6 of 46.
14 Sep 2026 07:02:24
One last point on Sa. Look at our CB so far: Mosq and Toti, Deija and Toti, last two Deija Kreiji, ending with Kreiji Toti. Is Sa getting the protection, or maybe having to go for balls beyond his comfort zone sometimes?
I havnt looked at or rerun any videos, just crossed my mind.
