So Re has come out and said without doubt a back four. So how do people see the rest of the formation going? Personally I'd like to see 4-2-3-1.
05 Jun 2026 12:31:01
There is no need for other clubs to spy on Wolves training, as Rob has already given them the information.
05 Jun 2026 12:19:00
It'd be a good old 442 for me pikey. Big ask on some, but with the right players we can get the best of everything entertaining.
05 Jun 2026 14:34:23
I think it will be 4-2-3-1. Wolves have to move away from five at the back. It hasn't worked for years. Great when you have rapid, talented wingbacks, awful when you don't. What Traore lacked in crossing ability, he made up for with incredible speed and dribbling skills.
05 Jun 2026 14:40:52
It might not have worked for years, clapped out (we had a zodiac!), but every time we've reverted to a 4 we've been even worse! You obviously need the right mix of players for both systems.
05 Jun 2026 15:47:15
Does that mean we won't be playing our 9=1 formation any more.
06 Jun 2026 19:22:31
Wish I had a Zodiac, Wulf. Love that car.
05 Jun 2026 10:01:42
Belter of a shirt, understated yet classy. Be a massive seller, hope they don't run out of 3XL after 5 minutes, like usual! Wolves Aye We!!!
05 Jun 2026 12:04:11
Fosun won't get any shirt money out of me, even though it's a good shirt. Old Gold Pack shirt for me.
05 Jun 2026 16:16:29
Why not both? 🤷🏻♂️

{Ed's Note - BlueNose1878 has posted a new article entitled, Everton Must Plan Properly If Ndiaye Goes
04 Jun 2026 20:35:04
The new shirt is absolutely gorgeous. Best home shirt Wolves have released for years. Love the old school "Out of Darkness" badge.
Wolves currently looking bankers to get promoted in the 26/27 season.
05 Jun 2026 07:05:57
Far from the 'best' ice ice imo. There is no 'Out of Darkness' on it; it reads Wolverhampton Wanderers under the badge. To me, it's a cheap version of the 1960s shirt, spoilt by the in-printed design.
They could have been a lot more creative in celebrating our 150th, and if you've not seen what the pack, the fans' celebratory shirt looks like, look it up. It's also a tenner less.
05 Jun 2026 14:02:23
Totally agree, Abbey. What happened to 'Ex tenebris venit lux'?
05 Jun 2026 19:10:31
Maybe the city don't want us using it, Oxley?
04 Jun 2026 13:50:32
Is the new home top on sale Friday in clubshop or just online? Anybody had any glimpse at it?
04 Jun 2026 15:24:08
It says online/megastore 9am Meza 1.
04 Jun 2026 19:27:43
In store, 10am, sorry Meza 1.
04 Jun 2026 20:15:24
I'm warming to it but miss the Wolves badge.
04 Jun 2026 20:15:48
Go onto YouTube, Meza. Wolves have posted the 150th Anniversary shirt.
04 Jun 2026 13:32:22
Slight change of subject, I don’t log on regularly. But has anyone heard or read anything from GreyLegWolf?
He posted that his brother was due to have surgery after being diagnosed with cancer. Any ideas how his brother, and also his nephew are doing?
If you Do read this GreyLeg, you and your family are still in the thoughts of the pack.
04 Jun 2026 15:11:29
Very well said, Half. I hadn't actually seen that post, and was very sad to hear Grey was having a hard time. Just to echo your sentiment, I hope you're ok, Grey, buddy. We are all thinking of you and your brother. 👍
04 Jun 2026 18:57:51
I remember his post HTP, so, like you and Bully's, I would like to send him, his brother and his nephew my best wishes.
04 Jun 2026 20:00:49
Not forgotten Geyleg, I too hope everything can be as well as it can in your family in these trying times, mate, and my best wishes are always with you. The pack is with you.
04 Jun 2026 10:33:58
Well new sponsors midnite.
Very good.
Should of had them last season.
Seeing as some of the matches we played, we wouldn't of scored if we had played till midnight.
Next season will be different.
04 Jun 2026 13:44:14
If we'd played to midnight, our goal difference would have been minus three figures.
04 Jun 2026 15:23:02
Yea, midnite, it's about the only thing that is definite about the club so far.
Their logo is fluorescent green. I do hope it's not going to be that colour on our 150th home shirt?
03 Jun 2026 23:45:24
As Jose Sa is leaving (should be), what’s everyone’s thoughts on Ramsdale?
His loan is over at Newcastle now, so he’s heading back to Southampton. Could get a good deal on him.
04 Jun 2026 11:12:48
If we're going for the golden oldies, what about Ruddy?
04 Jun 2026 13:47:04
Why not ask Bully to put his boots back on too, and Stowell.
Time to move on from the past. Many of those players mentioned will not be the same as when they were with us, due to age.
04 Jun 2026 14:02:13
Haha, you beat me to it, RKO!
I was actually gonna say Stowell and Bully myself. 🤣
Lordy lord, us fans really are a nostalgic lot, aren't we? Like you say, we need to start making new heroes, rather than trying to live in the past. 👍
04 Jun 2026 14:55:13
Poor old Bully's knees were knackered 30 years ago. However, I'm fully behind Wolves bringing back Roger Johnson and Jamie O'Hara.
04 Jun 2026 15:13:33
Haha, fair play Ice, let's be honest, neither Jamie nor Roger could do any worse than they did first time round! That is, of course, unless Roger Johnson is still drunk, which is entirely possible. 🙈🤣
04 Jun 2026 20:32:41
Brian Laws could park a bus in front of the goal and save buying a keeper. 🤣
03 Jun 2026 17:37:05
I'm reading that we have seven Wolves players at World Cup. Add to that number any internationals who haven't been selected for the World Cup, and you would wonder why we are now in the Championship!
04 Jun 2026 08:48:50
Irrespective of that Deep factor in the way the Club has been run for some years now, recent poor transfer windows have been the final nail in the coffin.
In a word, 'neglect'.
03 Jun 2026 15:06:15
The average Shirt Sponsorship deal for a Championship team is worth approx £2.5m to £5m.
Wolves new deal with Midnite is worth £1.5m.
03 Jun 2026 15:23:49
Is it a short term deal? Might be one year only.
03 Jun 2026 16:03:42
It is only a 1 year deal, but still below the average.
03 Jun 2026 16:41:04
What's your source? Best I could find says the average is between 0.5 - 2.5mil. So it sounds about right to me. You also need to consider the value is affected by the size of the fan base, etc., so, unlike what some think, we aren't the biggest club in the Champ. Or maybe our fans are a bit tighter with their cash, so less value for the sponsors.
It just seems like more criticism for the sake of it than any actual truth that we aren't getting the best deals we can.
My only gripe is that it's with another gambling company, not necessarily because they are preying on the weak-willed, more just because there are so many and it's all a bit boring. Although I suppose Midnite is aesthetically better than Debet, or W88 etc.
03 Jun 2026 17:11:00
I thought Midnite was a computer game. Hopefully, the one-year deal says that Wolves are getting promoted at the first time of asking.
Promotion will bring a three-year £300 million sponsorship deal with Starlink.
03 Jun 2026 17:19:49
Could be, Ice. I thought it was the one with the weird adverts of people with veins pulsing in their heads.
03 Jun 2026 17:48:00
I read it online earlier.
The article has been altered since I read it earlier, but I've cut and pasted what I could find:
Following Wolves' recent relegation from the Premier League, their commercial leverage for a front-of-shirt sponsor naturally adjusted to Championship market rates.
The Step Down: For context, Wolves' previous Premier League front-of-shirt deal with Debet (signed in 2024) was worth just under £10 million per year.
Championship front-of-shirt sponsorships for clubs pushing for promotion typically command between £1.5 million and £4 million per year, depending on bonus structures for securing promotion back to the top flight.
03 Jun 2026 23:38:06
Thanks Gwil, I wonder if we have a bonus structure to make it more? And, it makes more sense, being clubs pushing for promotion, that can achieve higher value. The values I posted were for all Champ sides, so bringing the average down a fair bit.
I guess we are still at the low end of clubs aiming for promotion, of course, who knows if that will actually be the case.
04 Jun 2026 00:05:38
Sponsorship means sweet FA if you've got no team. Let's see what happens on the playing side under Edwards. I've always loved my Wolves, but I really don't hold much hope with Edwards in charge. Hope I'm wrong, but doubt it...
