If Wolves go up this season Wolves will need to spend 150mill minimum. At least 2 strikers 2 midfielders and thats keeping Andre and James who Wolves should buy. A goalie plus RB,LB,RW keep Mane and Lopez going to be hard the way Wolves operate.

DMac - hard to disagree.
The side is short of quality in the forward areas and this is the hardest to acquire.
It makes the decision not to sign Lankshear baffling especially as he was sold for relatively speaking peanuts, certainly peanuts compared to your very realistic, (although almost impossible to see Wolves spending) £150m budget!

i massively disagree. if we go up its because the players are good enough to play in the prem.

we would need literally 1 or 2 strikers/ wingers and maybe 1 new centre back.

were talking 50 mil.

Conor Coady has announced his retirement from playing. Surely, if he has his coaching badges, he should be brought back to the club as a coach.

As the side is currently sitting 2nd in the league, maybe it is time to look at the future.
If Wolves do get promoted what would need to be done ?
After the amazing emergence of Djiga and Lopez, Wolves have 4 players I am confident will step up, ( Andre and Krejci being the others).
James and 2 or 3 others, (Mane, Gomes and Bueno- some will be screaming no at both of the last 2, - are my hopes for next season but you might have others and of course not all of them will use the 2nd half of this season to prove their point), have the rest of the season to get fit and prove that they can also be relied on next season.
There are also a couple - Yerson and Toti? - who could be squad options.
But that still means Wolves need to add 8 or 9 first team squad players and at least 4 or 5 of them will probably need to be first 11 players.
Not just players who can play in the first 11 but at least 2 or 3 who can lead it. Players as good or better than the 4 who I think the side should be built round.
Obviously that can't be done in 1 window so this Jan the errors of the last dozen or so windows need to be avoided and one or two quality additions need to be found.
Despite Neave's cameo last night the first of these needs to be a proven goalscorer who can lead the line backed up/covered by Raul who is unlikely to make it next year so needs to be phased out of the first 11 as promotion becomes assured.
After that there are numerous areas of concern and depending on who can be found to bring in any one of the following could be addressed
A new GK, a new RB - on the same basis as Raul, - a new LB and possibly a new WF and a new number 10/2nd striker.
It's fantastic to be even thinking about the future but January is now only weeks away so lets hope the club is as well.

We firstly need to generate some revenue moving the loanees out permanently.

Santi Bueno: Club América holds a £6 million option to buy.

Tolu Arokodare: Continuing a strong goalscoring run and getting praised for recent performances in his loan stint.

Sam Johnstone: Established number 1 at Celtic.

David Møller Wolfe: performing well at Hamburg with a £12.5 million option to buy.

Hee-chan Hwang: At Schalke 04 but has been in the news for poor discipline.

I think Mane will be sold if the suggested sum of £50 mil is offfered,

Gdawg - absolutely!
Baza - I am struggling to see anyone offering that at the moment but I strongly suspect that if it is Wolves would find it very very difficult to turn down.

Hopefully we can strengthen in the coming window with a couple of players who could step up, don't ask me who though. Of course it still depends on getting through the Swansea game which should be half way, having maintained or developed our league position, which in itself should help the club to look more attractive to potential recruits.

2

06 Nov 2026 17:26:26
our best bet is to strengthen in january.

30-50m in january with the base CP has built could buy the league. if we can get a 20 goal striker in the building were set.

I thought we were decent last night, agreed with the amount of possession and chances we should be scoring more.
2nd in the table is fantastic at this stage without consistently playing well.
Have to say still not convinced with Munetsi or Bellegarde, sorry, maybe just me.
On the positive side, Neave, Armstrong and R. Gomes all seem to be improving, tough game away on Saturday.
Would still like a couple of additions in Jan to push on, probably unlikely though.

05 Nov 2026 11:30:31
We ground out a result last night. Said and Bellegarde did not have the best of games and were rightly subbed. Jose Sa was a constant worry though. A few scary moments from him. But a win is a win.

2

05 Nov 2026 12:19:27
I am glad I am not the only one worried by Sa. Never have confidence in Sa with crosses or with ball at feet, saving shots is fine but these days more is required. Despite being 8ft tall always falls over too easily with corners and crosses.

2

05 Nov 2026 12:39:41
Sa reminds me of David 'calamity' James, only not as good. My blood pressure rises every time I see Sa about to spring into action. He's probably still here because we couldn't sell him. If we are still in contention for promotion at Christmas, a new keeper is essential. In the meantime, CP is doing a great job and I am not surprised.

05 Nov 2026 16:29:06
Is the recently added goal keeper any good does anyone know?

0

06 Nov 2026 17:28:37
joao virginia is excellent in my opinion. he played one of the best games ive ever seen against everton in the cup.

i have no doubts he'l step up.

jose sa is not finished yet tho... he is still a good keeper and will be no1 this season and next probably assuming promotion/

We had Armstrong who is supposed to be great at this level and look at him...we need to buy a propper no9 for me a decent age i aint sure who though but i dont get paid to scout players what are our scouts paid for if can't find assets

2

05 Nov 2026 03:37:03
The same Armstrong who has scored 2 in the last 3 now he has started getting service instead of over the top balls, you mean that Armstrong?
He isn't perfect by a long shot but last 3 games he has started to show what he can do he was heavily involved in tonights first goal too his shot forced the save that Neaves latched on to put away the rebound.

I swear some only listen to WM and don't actually watch matches.

05 Nov 2026 20:39:57
I watch every game just for your info. i ain't keen on Armstrong and don't believe he will get 10 goals. hopefully im wrong but i would still rather see another no9 brought in. not sure what to think of neave 2 poachers goals last night maybe will crack on.

armstrong puts himself about for a wee lad.

i like him as a support striker

03 Nov 2026 16:22:27
So some want Che Adams now?
When we was linked with him a lot were screaming "not good enough!"

6

03 Nov 2026 19:11:26
I've always been pro Adams. I watched him at Birmingham and could see that he could easily di the business for us at this level. He'd also be a good option off the bench in the Premier League.

Don't know why so many were so against him joining us.

5

04 Nov 2026 11:09:18
For goodness sake, I know we need a experienced striker but che Adams seriously have you seen him play we must be looking better than him.

4

04 Nov 2026 12:30:10
I'd have to agree, buy someone younger and better than a journeyman.

2

04 Nov 2026 12:42:24
So it's clear that Suffolk and Siminandlaura don't rate Adams.

We clearly need a striker. Some are suggesting Neave going back as he's too inexperienced so the question is, who would you bring in who has experience and proven record at this level?

I think Adams ticks all the right boxes.

2

04 Nov 2026 20:53:01
Who is siminandlaura ha ha ha.

02 Nov 2026 05:10:26
We really could do with a temp out of contract striker/target man ASAP until January. Worked pretty well previously with Diego Costa ! Have heard that Benzema is available 🤪. FWAW.

0

02 Nov 2026 13:50:28
Made headlines, but I don't remember it working well with Diego Costa. One goal in 23 appearances for us, the worst return in his career. He scored more goals elsewhere when he left. Bringing in a free agent now won't work as the squad numbers are full. I'd rather end Neave's loan in we can in January and bring in an experienced striker.

2

02 Nov 2026 15:32:08
I would move Doyle out in January and Gonzalez. Then use the spaces available to bring in someone like Che Adams on a short term loan with a view to permanent signing should we go up.

If we do go up, sign Adams and let Armstrong go.

03 Nov 2026 10:41:04
Poor old nuno has bit the dust, hope the hammers go down.

2

03 Nov 2026 12:17:43
Che Adams, 4 goals in 8 matches for Torino. Could do a job for us in second half of season, but probably not in the PL if we got promoted.
Could we cut short the loan of Neave to create room for Adams? I would keep Armstrong until the end of the season.

Sad to hear about the sacking of Nuno. Dreadfull decision by West Ham.

03 Nov 2026 13:18:46
Another striker definitely as and I hope I'm wrong suspect we won't see much of Raul this season. Even if he comes back in January it'll probably take 2 months to get match fit. It'll probably be a case of Deja Vu though & nothing will happen. Was it last year we were crying out for an attacking midfielder & nothing happened, the season before a central defender & nothing materialised.

If Fosun have learnt the error of their ways then Neave should go back to Newcastle to free up space for a more established striker. From his game time albeit limited he looks well out of his depth.

As others have said i thought Hugo had his best game for a long time, Krejci also good and Lopez.
Shame James injured as I would have liked to see him have a few games back to back.

Cardiff had too many chances for us to be comfortable, our MF was too open, whether this was due to the changes when James went off, not sure, maybe.

Is Boubacar Traore back fit now, it would be interesting i think to see Andre, Traore and James together for the more difficult games. Although we havent really seen that much of James and Andre together yet.
Surely CP is safe in his job now for a while, we have to sign a CF at least in Jan, i hope.

Very happy with the 3 points and 3 goals.
A bit of a return to how we started the season, good going forward but not convincing at the back.
Hope James injury not too bad and pleased to see R. Gomes back.
Still have to say Munetsi doesn't seem to contribute much other than running around lots.

Difficult to knock a 3-0 win and on to the next, if we do start playing well at both ends we could just get into the top 2, a CF would surely help with this 🤞.

Banksy51 tottaly agree with the 3 points played really well first half. Then second half all over the place Munetsi does nothing but give free kicks away. But 3rd in the league cant complain to much but def need a striker in Jan.

31 Oct 2026 09:31:26
I think CP doing a decent job not easy with no striker hopefully santa brings us one for xmas.

5

31 Oct 2026 10:15:15
Santa's present giving season ends before the January transfer opens! But I would end the loan deal for young Neave if we can to free up squad space and splash out on good experienced number 9. If we're still top 4 or thereabouts, this window will be very important to us.

1

31 Oct 2026 13:12:15
Do you think Ladislav will be with us at the end of the window?

0

31 Oct 2026 14:59:56
Well said, Simon. The team is really struggling at the minute. What could go wrong is going wrong. Hopefully things will change and Lady Luck will smile in Peixoto and Wolves.

2

31 Oct 2026 16:11:25
Well if the team are currently struggling and are sitting 3rd in the table (at time of writing), I can't wait until the team are enjoying the good times.

Nothing in the Cesar rumours he is expected to remain at Wolves until at least the end of season.

1

30 Oct 2026 06:35:31
Maybe Rated.....maybe not.

2

30 Oct 2026 14:36:07
It's a results business mate although the board have confidence in him that can change in the blink of an eye.

2

30 Oct 2026 15:29:21
If the board do decide to get rid of him and we end up mid table, then the board have got exactly what they deserve. How can you even contemplate sacking a manager who is sitting 4th in the table, 2 points off an automatic promotion spot, without a out and out striker and not backed by the board.

5

30 Oct 2026 15:34:50
The board have no intention of sacking CP. Just silly rumours.

0

30 Oct 2026 17:29:20
Goodwhileitlasted mate my post confirms the rumours are rubbish.

0

30 Oct 2026 18:50:42
I know you are. I'm just emphasising that if the board were stupid enough to get rid of him, then they deserve everything they get.

1

30 Oct 2026 18:52:41
Just read that Sporting are considering Cesar to replace Rui Borges should they decide to make a change.
