Reports are saying Cesar has put Whang, Traore, Sasa and Hoever up for sale. Cesar wants Midfielder Jordan James, hopefully a striker and a right winger. No new goalie or CH unless someone comes in late with decent money. Striker and right winger haven't got a clue but that's what's happening unless late bids come in for others.
12 Aug 2026 15:48:04
Do we need a striker?
12 Aug 2026 16:13:31
If he sells Sasa, that leaves Jimenez and Armstrong, and one gets injured, then what?
12 Aug 2026 17:05:37
Mane can play as a false 9. Or Nathan Shi can stick his boots on.
12 Aug 2026 17:57:29
We also have Nathan Fraser and Dani Angel in our U21s, who are not bad as backups. However, maybe a loan deal for a player like Shim Mheuka or Chido Obi Martin (I know, unrealistic, but he will ball out in the Championship).
12 Aug 2026 13:54:42
Jordan James is very close to competing his move to Wolves. Wolves will pay around β¬10 million to Stade Rennes. Wolves are pushing to get it done soon, with the intention of starting him next to Andre on Friday.
Cesar Peixoto wants a lock down midfielder, with skill, (most likely Jordan James).
And a specialist right winger and are expected to utilize the Premier League loan market.
Amario Cozier Duberry is reportedly seen as an option.
12 Aug 2026 14:35:59
Would be a class signing, but don't think he'd get signed and integrated into the squad for a game in two days. Likely to be watching on from the stands, I imagine.
12 Aug 2026 14:42:27
I think the rules state a player has to sign before 12 o'clock the day before. So James would have to have a medical and sign Thurs noon to play Friday.
12 Aug 2026 14:55:57
Honestly, considering all factors, a debut before the Sheffield Wednesday match is quite difficult, no matter how hard Wolves push. Even if Wolves sign him this week (fingers crossed), it will take him some time to understand the playing style, and no manager would put a new player straight into the starting XI.
12 Aug 2026 15:03:06
I literally posted it yesterday.
12 Aug 2026 15:12:38
But you said you don't know if it's true. I'm just clarifying, Rated.
12 Aug 2026 15:25:47
Wolfoftheeast broke the news before anyone. He seems to be good with solid rumours.
All hail Wolfoftheeast: the new Fabrizio Romano.
12 Aug 2026 15:30:14
What about those unlucky fellows who were speculating the transfer at the start of the transfer window? :(
Just kidding, of course.
12 Aug 2026 15:26:33
Is Amario Cozier Duberry actually being considered? I just wrote a post in banter praising him. Didn't know that Wolves were actually interested in him. Would be a class signing though. Has a really high ceiling.
12 Aug 2026 15:47:46
Read what you like into the situation, but Jordan James is following Wolves on his social media link.
Cracking signing when it comes off. πΎπΉπΊπΊπΊ and 1 for Moby. πΊ
12 Aug 2026 16:10:17
Cozier Duberry has been looked at, but so has every half decent young winger who's home grown and could be available for loan.
Wolves want a loan with an option to buy. Koumas from Liverpool was another name mentioned.
Wolves' priority target in goal is the lad from Derby. They're currently looking at options to bring someone in to then let Zetterstrom go. It won't be cheap, which is why the winger option is very much a loan deal.
12 Aug 2026 16:21:53
Sounds like v good news!
If Sa and Krejci stay and are in the right frame of mind, the first 11 is set.
Then, Wolves just need to exit sufficient of the dead wood to be comfortable with SCR, and hopefully add a couple of additional (preferably home grown and experienced) players to add depth in areas such as WF, and, depending, I guess, on who goes CB and CM.
If neither Sa and Krejci are willing to stay, or Wolves need to sell Krejci to bring in serious money, then a new GK and LCB will still be needed.
12 Aug 2026 12:12:14
Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook are both saying Wolves are progressing in talks to sign Jordan James. Looks promiseing. Fingers crossed.
12 Aug 2026 13:00:04
Reported this days ago, but it seems to be getting picked up by more reliable sources. Cheaper than the Β£10m as suggested, too.
Personal terms aren't said to be an issue. The club want the medical to be completed by Friday, with James attending the game after.
12 Aug 2026 13:07:28
You did, Wolf. Hats off. πππ
12 Aug 2026 13:42:17
Still won't be good enough for some. We have a good squad, we know who won't be in it by the looks of it, if you believe all the talk going around.
12 Aug 2026 14:24:10
Alex Crook is one of the worst for transfer gossip. He gets his info about 3 days later than anyone else. Ben Jacobs, on the other hand, is quite good, so this rumour may be true. We'll wait and see.
12 Aug 2026 11:09:48
According to transferfeed, Alex Crook is reporting Wolves are making progress in signing Jordan James.
11 Aug 2026 21:21:59
There is a rumour floating around Wolves have agreed terms with Stade Rennais for Β£10 million Jordan James and with the player himself.
I'm not sure if it's true or a WUM as no source I trust has posted it, but the poster has been correct a couple of times and has been wrong too.
11 Aug 2026 22:14:46
I've heard he's going West Ham.
11 Aug 2026 22:31:18
I think we all know, even without confirmation, he isn't going to end up at Wolves.
11 Aug 2026 22:39:54
Just under 3 weeks to go before the transfer window closes.
Nathan Shi stated that he wanted a team that was well prepared for the new season and wanted the new players in during pre season so they could train and understand the managers methodology.
Well it looks like he has simply lied to us just like his predecessor did.
Looking forward to September 1st and the excuses.
Fosun are taking us fans for fools. The sooner we admit this and stay away from the club, the sooner they'll fuck off.
12 Aug 2026 11:28:12
Different Shi... same Fosun!
12 Aug 2026 11:29:01
I agree in principle with what you say. However, when you look around other teams and see if they have also signed minimal players, then it is not as simple as just going out buying players left and right, when a lot of these players are probably gonna have multiple offers and are thus holding out for the best contract that they can get, especially as they know the closer it gets to the window, the more they potentially can demand in wages, etc.
I honestly think the reason we haven't signed anybody is because of the poor players we have bought in previous seasons, because we seemingly can't even sell these players. So, at this point, is it better to cut our losses and just offer the deadwood to other teams for below market value?
10 Aug 2026 23:11:38
Brayan Medina is said to be wating on standby to join Wolves, but the deal depends on Wolves' ability to sell Ladislav Krejci and Santi Bueno. CD Tondela value him at around β¬3 million.
Nick Pope is seen as the top target for the goalkeeper position. Svetoslav Vutslov is seen as the backup as Pope has a lot of interest.
Ethan Sunderland has signed a new 2 year deal and has joined Exeter on loan until the end of the season, no option.
Wolves are still trying to sell Hwang, Krejci, Santi Bueno, Tchatchoua, Sa, Johnstone.
11 Aug 2026 12:30:04
Some good options in there. Could you list a source for this? I just want to check out if they have posted any other rumours. I don't want Santi to go nor krejci
11 Aug 2026 15:15:15
The Krejci and Bueno news is from Johnny Phillips, from the Wanderers Post.
09 Aug 2026 22:52:01
Wolves hold an interest in bringing in both Nick Pope and John Ruddy to the club. Ruddy in a role to support the HG quota.
A lot will depend on Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone being shifted on first.
10 Aug 2026 06:43:20
Rated Rko, mate, why do Wolves want Pope hes worse than Sa and Johnstone hes absolute crap. Newcastle fans have wanted Pope gone for ages, Wolves should stay well clear.
10 Aug 2026 09:48:52
Might be ok in the champ.
10 Aug 2026 10:59:01
Doesn't matter what league he plays in he's still a liability.
10 Aug 2026 12:35:07
Well said.
10 Aug 2026 13:36:25
Unless we sign some amazing homegrown player, we should keep Sa and Bentley.
Vitek would have been a good option, but he has gone to Boro though.
Johansson would have been a good option, but the longer the window drags on, the more likely Stoke will go no chance.
We are wasting time and energy on positions that shouldn't need changing.
We need x3 cbs.
Two CM.
X3 forwards.
Not long left. Take the loss on the players left; still have Β£70m to spend from the last two transfer windows and without parachute money being taken into account.
10 Aug 2026 13:58:25
Madman, I like your enthusiasm, but reality states there is no chance Wolves won't spend that. Even if they sell, they still will not spend that amount.
10 Aug 2026 15:00:05
The money that is now being bandied about in the Premier League is ludicrous. Can't ever see Fosun paying that sort of money again, hence we may never compete in the Premier League while these owners are here, unfortunately.
10 Aug 2026 15:29:07
Dmac, you're obviously on Crystal Meth if you actually think Pope is worst than SΓ & Johnstone..πππ
10 Aug 2026 16:03:19
I must be on meth as well then cause I'm pretty sure Sa is better than Pope. Not sure about Johnstone cause he's always injured!
10 Aug 2026 16:07:39
Very well said, Smeghead. How many Champions League games did Pope play last year? He's not far off 400 professional games, but apparently anyone within five yards of a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale thinks he's rubbish.
Today, he might not be good enough for Newcastle, but at one stage he absolutely was, and for Wolves in the Championship, he'll be a brilliant signing.
I sometimes think there are Baggies fans on here trolling.
Look on the BBC hys whenever Wolves play. The amount of West Brom trolls on there spitting bile is embarrassing.
10 Aug 2026 17:37:06
Well... I'd rather play without a keeper than keep Bentley. How the ! he passes for a goalkeeper, I don't know.
10 Aug 2026 17:42:45
Sa better than Pope, are you on the wind up? Pope is a much better keeper.
10 Aug 2026 18:11:39
In an ideal world, Tg, I would have sold most the squad.
The issue is, they are a massive risk for another club to take a risk on.
We need to look after ourselves. Changing the goal keeper is not a priority in my opinion. We say Sa you are our number 1 and Bentley back up. We sell Johnstone to who ever needs a homegrown player. We sign Ruddy anyway to keep the homegrown quota up, and he sets levels in the squad.
I didn't say we spend Β£70m. We set some key targets to build a competitive squad so we aim to get promoted and to stay up.
Arrey-Mbi
James
Andre Luis
Should be star signings.
Then I would sign Alleyne, Patrao and Varela on loan with obligations to sign next summer.
Other cheaper options, Braga from Hearts could do a job for us.
Casares from Gil Vincente to play alongside Andre. An enforcer who knows how Cesar wants to play. Webster or Veltman as experienced cb's like Saiss and Bennett in our last promotion.
We need more pace, I'm bored of saying it but still haven't signed any at CB, CM or forwards with pace not strikers.
We should be laying it on a plate for Raul and Armstrong this season.
I don't trust Mosquera, Toti, Doyle, Traore, R Gomes (sorry mate but I don't) and Hwang for another season.
These are decisions that should have been made straight away. Not 3 weeks left of the window. I don't trust the club to sort it out after last summer they failed miserably.
10 Aug 2026 18:23:47
My preference would be for Sa to stay, with Bentley as back up. Not a fan of Johnstone; he is very weak on dealing with crosses, of which there will be lots in the Championship. If Sa is sold, then we have the Levski Sofia keeper being scouted. The second leg of their Champions League qualifier is tomorrow. If they win, then he probably stays. Pope is an option; again, his distribution is poor and, despite his height, he doesn't command his box from crosses.
He shared Newcastle duty with Ramsdale, who is second choice after returning to Southampton. He is only 26, and has shown in the past what a good keeper he can be. Okay, a West Brom fan, but he is a professional footballer and that shouldn't be an issue. Plenty of players have played for both teams in the past... too many to mention. I don't want Bentley and Johnstone to be our only options, as neither inspires me with confidence.
10 Aug 2026 21:02:07
Fosunproject, I have to disagree with R Gomes, he's a willing runner and the only option we have with any pace.
10 Aug 2026 21:33:36
He is, and I would have him part of the squad.
My point is we can't rely on him to play 30+ games.
We need strength in depth...
As the others, I would sell.
There have been a few seasons now we have relied on certain players, and injuries have affected our season.
My list was just some of the names that we haven't always been able to call upon.
09 Aug 2026 14:53:34
Have we or have we not done a deal for Jordan James?
So many different rumours.
09 Aug 2026 15:07:23
Wolves have spoken to him and are awaiting his response.
09 Aug 2026 15:09:56
Moby, there is, as far as I know, no deal agreed for James. He is considering his options, but Wolves are pushing hard to get him. CP wants Wolves to pull out all the stops to sign him, get him in midfield with Andre. Wolves need to deliver on CP's choices, after he said I have confidence in the board to make signings.
09 Aug 2026 15:45:16
Rated RKO, it's a waiting game. Wolves have to sell the project to James. We're getting promoted. You will play every game possible, and there will be an increase in wages when promoted to PL. Wolves have to convince James. He would be best placed here, and it would be a great signing if it comes off, but it's a big if, knowing Wolves.
09 Aug 2026 16:36:31
Upside, Wolverhampton closer to home town, Hereford, than other interested parties. Downside, Jarrod Bowen is from Hereford.
09 Aug 2026 17:06:24
West Ham will push for him if they don't manage to bring in Engels, I imagine.
09 Aug 2026 22:50:04
James is a good option.
But someone like Casares from Gil Vincente would be good. He knows how Cesar plays, and gives Andre more freedom in midfield.
Especially now, we have forwards that move.
I'd still sign James.
I'm worried mainly about the cbs and forwards, as they aren't quick enough and don't have the consistency for a promotion challenge.
Are R Gomes, Mane, Hwang and Said good enough?
I'd class Raul and Armstrong as strikers.
10 Aug 2026 17:39:12
R Gomes. Are you blind. π
09 Aug 2026 11:36:40
Jordan James offer accepted! Latest!
Wolves keen to get the deal done quickly but a few clubs are keen. As reported by Alan Nixon.
Boubacar Traore looks set for a loan move. Wolves holding out for an option to buy clause.
Wolves are no closer to a goalkeeper resolution. Johnstone could go to Everton (or elsewhere) for as low as Β£2.5m, with Bentley looking set to stay. Sa has had no more real interest (unfortunately although I feel would be a good goalkeeper for us in the championship).
Wolves are open to offers for a number of players in order to lower the wage bill with Hwang being the most noteable name (Santi was not mentioned π€)
Sociedad are yet to come in with an improved offer but Wolves are expecting a late move in the window. No centre back incomings unless 2 of the current centre backs move on.
09 Aug 2026 12:59:16
Who is saying offer accepted for James as everywhere i've looked saying no offer been made. Where do you get your information from because nothing on any site say offer accepted.
09 Aug 2026 14:15:40
Source: HP.
09 Aug 2026 14:41:39
Wolves are "desperate" for midfielder Jordan James, and are waiting on the Rennes player to make a decision on his new home.
10 Aug 2026 11:30:04
Seems a lot of clubs in for this James chap, as well as Wolves... and W Ham.
Of course, it depends on the player's choice and us finding the right money.
But if we are as keen as a lot imply, then it will be a decent test of Nathan, mgr, and the other director chap, and their persuasion and negotiating skills.
If it's who they want, what we need. And I see it's not massive money... then.
10 Aug 2026 20:31:41
Jordan James is off to Middlesbrough or West Ham. Alan Nixon doesn't even mention Wolves. Check it out on Google: Jordan James.
12 Aug 2026 11:57:54
TGwolves
That old HP source seems to be pretty reliable.
Some credible journalists now reporting.
08 Aug 2026 10:36:31
Got the result we wanted
Wasn't impressed with defensive display.
If anything Port Vale should of been 2 up before we scored.
But it's early days.
Good welcome back for Jimenez.
Let's see what we can do in league.
Matches. That's what counts.
08 Aug 2026 12:51:57
Give Toti away, he does the same most games. Captain? I don't think so. Trippier always, without a doubt!
06 Aug 2026 08:32:39
It's suggested Kilman going to Palace.
06 Aug 2026 10:33:42
Kilman to Palace? We probably have a reverse sell-on clause. Like, we pay a percentage of any loss by West Ham!
08 Aug 2026 20:27:34
Could he take Toti Gomes with him!
