if there's talk of bringing silva back from anderlect and paying them a fee, can we bring coady back from Everton

harrythedog

1.) 09 Nov 2022 18:18:44
Coady would be the more sensible one to bring back, hypothetically speaking.

2.) 09 Nov 2022 18:25:00
Lage had a lot to answer for, if he didn't have the final say he should have. Guilty on all counts for me, he was a disaster appointment from day one.

3.) 09 Nov 2022 19:40:43
Afraid not Harry as Everton have a (pathetic) fee agreed for Coady! I also don't think he wants to come back and who can blame him?! He's living in his home city and playing for a club that didn't choose to back a failing manager instead of him after years of captaining the team! The whole Coady situation makes me VERY angry! ?

4.) 09 Nov 2022 22:05:38
BullysBoy ll. All I can say is that you have to be in the absolute majority. Never ever should have happened!
What a tonic to see Boubacar converting the the Podence assist tonight. A win is everything. COYW.

5.) 10 Nov 2022 07:35:05
I agree with you Mikebayleaf, it is so frustrating that the people making all the personnel decisions are STILL employed!

6.) 10 Nov 2022 08:13:33
Mikebayleaf, I think some have underestimated the damage Lage actually did to the dressing room, as for me Wolves fans were remarkably patient with him, preferring to blame certain team members instead.

However, the club also backed him resulting in the spine of the team being shown the door, the results of which are apparent today. Still no point in looking back, that's gone, the future is far more important.

7.) 14 Nov 2022 15:32:27
Interesting article in the Guardian about Everton and their finances over the weekend. I wouldn't rule anything out at the moment.

21 Aug 2022 22:51:24
im thinking if we get a striker in this week, and we are still not producing i think lage as 5 to 6 matches then i think fosun will take action, as to protect there prem status. what do you think guys.

harrythedog

1.) 22 Aug 2022 02:43:40
I think a decision will be made just before the World Cup. He will have until then.

2.) 22 Aug 2022 07:57:18
I think Fosun rate Lage, Guo Guangchang would not have bothered to get personally involved and spend some serious money on Lage's list if he didn't.
Surely they would have sacked him a few weeks ago and spent the money on a new manager's wish list?
Hopefully, the management change will be made above Lage. There are whispers, let's hope they turn out to be true!

3.) 22 Aug 2022 09:10:38
Yeah 10 games min, world cup start max.

4.) 22 Aug 2022 15:00:45
Think we need to be patient tbh, even though we lost against Spurs we had some very good play and could have easily gone in at half time 2-0 up.
I've often thought that we've had good options going forward but the facts are we haven't scored enough for the past 2 seasons so personally if any of the usual suspects like Neto, Podence, Raul or Adama have a good offer then I wouldn't be concerned if we sold them as long as we get replacements in. FWAW

5.) 22 Aug 2022 15:21:41
Minifrank that's a pretty balanced and pragmatic way of looking at it. They'll probably be the next Jota where they go but how long do you give them here?

6.) 22 Aug 2022 15:50:26
It's difficult because I think we are one of the teams that struggles to create clear cut chances, put Hwang or Raul in a side that does create and they'd both be on 15 goals a season. I honestly think it was our lack of creativity and system, hopefully Nunes will greatly help with that, also looks like we are going to get Kalajdzic so will need a supply line to him or just a waste. Maybe I'm not seeing this from all angles but just my thoughts mate.

7.) 22 Aug 2022 15:55:02
Sorry Arddunby didn't answer, I would say once we create the chances and see them in that scenario we can judge fairly quickly on composure, style, finishes and hold up play. Take fabio, I know its an inferior league to the premier league but you still have to put those chances away. Cutrone would probably get 20+ for Rangers lol.

8.) 22 Aug 2022 16:16:22
Minifrank yes you're probably interpreting the problem correctly, we create chances but they often aren't good clear cut ones which usually result in the ball being blasted wide or over.

9.) 22 Aug 2022 17:14:42
Agree but there have been good chances created all be it a few.
Dendonker chance agsisnt Leeds beautiful move but world class save, and one more I can think of MGW blazing over the bar agaisnt Fulham a good move again.
9 times out of ten these two I mention are goals.
But looking always for the better going forwards it's made our lack of striker more and more important.

10.) 22 Aug 2022 17:16:02
In reply to Lage and his job didn't Lage convince the world wide coup of Nunes to come to us?
There's my answer Lage going nowhere.

11.) 22 Aug 2022 17:56:52
The problem is that Wolves fans are too quick to turn.

Lage has done nothing wrong. When a manager comes in they change things . He couldn't at first and people got angry and Jeff and Scott. Summer comes and they are still raging. Jeff and Scott sign 3 VERY good players, one that arguably we have no right signing! People get off their backs but turn to Lage. He is playing a new system with new players in there.

All I will say is imagine if Liverpool and United sacked their managers so quickly. Klopp and Fergie wouldn't be the legends they are now! Remember both had horrific first seasons. Klopp inherited an awful team just like Ten Haag and Lage did. Lage inherrited a team that could only play one way and had been "found out" so to speak. With a winger that can run and very little else. a striker not firing. A midfield too slow and small for the prem. and a squad with all the depth of a argos paddling pool!

So when Lage came in he had bread on the board, as my people say. Avoir du pain sur la planche.

now villa have sacked gerrard, let's see there candidates for the job. bet more top names are after that job than ours. with shi and sellars in charge why would a top name come here?

harrythedog

1.) 21 Oct 2022 10:28:17
Anyone fancy Gerrard for our manager he has good contacts in football and would get the respect of the players.

2.) 21 Oct 2022 10:40:34
Villa alredy linked with emery, tuchel, poch. sez it all if they get1of them in.and were still floundering around asking if the tea lady want the job because shed donas good a job as steve davis.for that matter so would the real steve davis.and so what if he's a schoolboy wolves fan. So are all of us!pathetic.at least wev got a good3rd kit

3.) 21 Oct 2022 10:44:40
Baza, I've said I'd be more than happy with Gerrard. I work a lot of Villa games and they do actually play decent football. They just haven't got the players to finish the job off. Talking to some of the fans on matchdays, they believe that Wolves have the better players and would be able to cope with Gerrards style of play.

4.) 21 Oct 2022 13:59:47
I'd be happy with Gerrard he likes to play an attacking style of football, Villa just didn't have to players to do that that's why it went wrong for him there.
We on the otherhand do have the polayers for that style of football although they need a good hard kick up the backside.

5.) 21 Oct 2022 15:20:23
Surely it makes sense to get sum1 in for the world cup to work with the squad for a month and go forward from there asif its a new ssn.whoever itis

6.) 21 Oct 2022 16:22:19
Sorry getns but you say Villa don't have the players well they have spent FAR more during Gerrard tenure than us (especially on wages) and they only seem to have got worse for it! They've spent big wages on Digne, Coutinho and Kamara all of which have been bang average and all go which Gerrard was very vocal about signing cause they would help him play his system! Add to that the fact that no matter how much he spends there defensive record has somehow got worse?! If we sign Gerrard we will get relegated, it's that simple I'm afraid.
Bux what difference does it make who ya tied with if they have absolutely no intention of signing (Poch has already said as much). So according to you we'd have done better by telling the world we were going to get Pep or Klopp then, doesn't matter if they intend to go to the interview or not as long as the media thinks we are 'tied' with them?! Hilarious ?

7.) 21 Oct 2022 18:04:37
Gerrard was found out when Beale went to QPR.
Gerrard was the focal point, but the key man was Beale. QPR have an excellent manager.

8.) 21 Oct 2022 21:27:10
Just for some context here, I have nothing agaisnt Gerrard (great player) but as always the stats don't lie. His win percentage at Villa was 33.5, Dean Smith on the other hand left with a 50% win rate.

Again for context here, when we sacked Lage his win rate was 37.25%. I told myself with Lage for months that it was just about 'the system' but I think like Stevie the truth is far simpler, they just aren't Prem quality managers yet. They both have time on their side, with a good/successful next appointment they could both still learn.

At the moment though (for me) Gerrard would see us go down. I actually respect the club for taking their time but it's a calculated risk (one only possible cause of the very unique WC situation this year). Looks like Villa might stump up for Amorim, should be interesting especially if the figures quoted for his release fee are to be believed (£10+m).

He looks good but as Jas rightly pointed out at the moment his trajectory ain't that different to Lages. If anything Lage was more experienced having already worked in this country previously (as Assistant). Like I say though it still is a calculated risk because if we are waiting on Lopetgui then we know he's a flight risk (has been in most jobs he's had).

Time will tell but I do think the club can't afford to make a panicked/rushed decision. Taking their time won't be a problem but it does mean they HAVE to get this one right ?

someone put on here that mr. shi is the problem i fully agree.he is listening far to much on mendes. he bought us nuno and we will be ever grateful for that. jota and neto good players. but then we paid 35million for an 18 yr old who wasent playing regular football.then nuno goes so we have another Portuguese manager lage mendesman. now this spaniard doesent want to come. we are in free fall as a football side, relegation looms. mr shi there's managers out there that mendes is not an agent for. so please take a look. don't rely on mendes

harrythedog

1.) 13 Oct 2022 07:00:39
H, Shi is truly the problem and Fosun need to recognise this and replace him before it is too late.

2.) 13 Oct 2022 13:44:57
It IS to late.

3.) 13 Oct 2022 15:10:13
Harry the dog, don't forget capital letters after a full stop. ;)

05 Oct 2022 23:14:03
whose in charge down the mol shi or mendez the candidates on offer don't grab you breath and most are portugese because we've got a lot of portugese players don't mean we have to have a portugese manager. mr shi tell mendez to do one and pick your own

somebody on here can tell me how many games have we won in the last 20 under bruno. its time to go he is lacking in ideas

harrythedog

1.) 17 Sep 2022 23:13:08
W4 L11 D5.
His team selections are often questionable, but his substitution decisions are terrible. How Guedes was taken off today and not Neto was unbelievable. Our biggest problem though is Moutinho who is now too slow, the game passed him by today. Our best full back left on the bench again. I have to agree Harrythedog it's time for a change.

2.) 17 Sep 2022 23:24:53
Not many harrythedog. I think he does have an idea of how he wants to play but the questions are a) will it be effective and b) does he have the time to make it happen? Personally, I just can't see the owners or the fans having that much patience, given the money they've spent and the personnel changes they've made.
Let's hope Costa has an impact or it surely will be game over, this can't go on and it gives me no pleasure to say that.

3.) 18 Sep 2022 10:22:58
1 win since April 2nd.
Surely something is wrong.

4.) 18 Sep 2022 10:46:01
Our 6 games in October will define whether Bruno stays or goes. A shocking October and he will be gone providing the no doubt ready replacement with the 2 Prem matches in November to look at the squad and hopefully get the best out of them and make adjustments in January as required.

5.) 18 Sep 2022 12:16:16
Wer was adama yday anyway?.

6.) 18 Sep 2022 12:18:13
Bruno is afool.sez our players aren't good enuf yet he let boly and coady go.sez it all.and still brings hwang on!get rid now he's not upto it and drowning fast

7.) 18 Sep 2022 13:51:32
Adama is injured Bux.
Boly has been mia for awhile tbh, agree shouldn't have let Coady go we seem to be missing that voice on the pitch now he's gone.

8.) 18 Sep 2022 21:20:09
Can someone tell me how many Premier League games we won under Nuno in the month of August? Or any coach since 2011.
Asking for a friend.

01 Sep 2022 12:43:18
weve got a cf who as lost is way, neto, podence and hwang who are never going to get u loads of goals. so we buy a 6ft 7in striker and think that will solve all our problems.it seems to me and all wolves fans we should b after strikers today, if not were in real trouble

harrythedog

1.) 01 Sep 2022 13:40:01
We now need a full back, centre midfielder, winger and a cf. Potentially disaster
