Watching the game and I am losing all my hope and expectation for the coming season, on what I am watching we will be fighting relegation.

It does look woeful baza, arias hasn't appeared yet but I don't think that will provide us with all we need. Gomes Andre arias yes, then what larsen, lopez but we've no real movement outside of them.
Can't see hoever being an answer, but Hugo and rigardo may forge something? We need some serious reinforcements.

Totally agree.it's very very poor.I despair every day that goes by with no .named signings. Sick of seeing who we're interested in.

Last pre season I thought we looked really good and then look what happened after our first 10 games. Keep the faith. Players will come. Annoying that it’s so late but it will happen and we will have a good season.

We are definitely going down unless we sign 4 or 5 quality players asap, we have nothing up front and sloppy at the back.

Everyone relax, the penny's dropped and big Jeff and his new transfer task force have it all in hand, so absolutely nothing to worry about. Friendlies are just training sessions with opportunities to try stuff and the results don't matter.

At least that's what the voices are telling me.?

Trouble is that many clubs are after the same sort of players as us and we are probably way down the pecking order when those players, or their agents, decide their career move.Difficult to blame them if they drill into Fosun's recent track record.

You can never judge a friendly, but there is definitely a shortage of depth. Lot's of clubs outside the "big six" have lost players and are struggling to recruit. I think a lot of players who would come to us aren't too bothered about who they sign for as long as the deal is right and are holding out for the best contracts amongst a few clubs trying to offer them deals.

I suspect a lot of the delays are being caused by agents trying to get better deals and clubs trying to push up transfer fees if there is interest in their players.

It's frustrating but it appears that's the way the transfer market has gone now.

Not watched the game from last night, from the comments a good one to miss, unlikely to help improve my thoughts on the upcoming season.
Without any further signings where do people expect us to finish the season, is relegation a realistic possibility?
Again all the recent links to new players have not materialised, any new and reliable ones out there today? Thanks

With the sales of RAN, Cunha and to some extent the release of Sarabia all of our creative players have moved on. Although RAN was not the most reliable defensively he did create chances, without these type of players we will obviously struggle. Arias and Lopez may help with this, however we need others in, as time passes new recruits look more unlikely, told you yesterday my optimism wouldn’t last. ?

Josh Brownhill? Free agent, 18 goals last season, English, knows the Premier League

Leicester, Leeds, Celtic and Everton all mentioned as options for Josh Brownhill. He’s favouring Leeds!

What are the board doing, this guy is exactly what we lacked after 60 minutes last night. Act quickly (and surprise us fans, that you can act quickly) and get this deal done. On all of the near misses mentioned on this forum - we would have had a team to compete, sadly due to lack of urgency or desire, we have a real possibility of relegation this season - VP did a magnificent job but the newly assembled ‘driving force’ are stuck on the hard shoulder. Jeff Shi simply get it sorted before its too late!??

I did watch the game last night, and people shouldn't be too despondent, there were some nice passages of play, which, although they didn't produce an end product, were a vast improvement over the shambles against Stoke.
At this point it is about fitness and familiarity with VPs chosen tactics and pattern of play, the result is of secondary importance. Yes the squad still looks a bit lightweight but there is still time to bring in players who will compliment the current group and make us a more competitive unit.
Early days, too early to pass judgement at the moment.
I'm sure that there will be additions and hopefully quality not quantity.

Got to worry over midfield, who replaces or covers Andre and Gomez?
It was obvious last night that we're short in that area. Doyler gone trore gone and with all respect munetsi isn't going to cut the mustard.
Front wise larsen and lopez showed a promise, as can sasha, but guedes will be going, hwang a spare.
Rwb we knew was a problem, hoever dosnt seem the answer. Lima still too inexperienced.
At the back we're too open but yerson may block holes.
Doc seems off pace, but it's only a friendly so?
H bueno can, I believe fill RANs position.
Arias of course to come.
GK wise, I'm happy with Sa but I'm sorry Bentley is not a starter for me. If Sa leaves that's another problem.
I'm acutely aware I'm only a spectator and VP knows what he wants, friendlies are just that and not full blown encounters (although gomez was getting the treatment as if it were at times), but its obvious we're short on players.

The guy they should look at to cover the midfield is Andy Diouf who was number 18 for RC Lens last night. Big, strong and can carry the ball from midfield something that would of helped last night. Also the right age profile wise and would provide that cover as and when needed.

Have to be honest Abbey I have absolutely no idea why we have let Doyle go, just means even LESS depth! Especially weird as we've given them an agreed fee of £10m (upon promotion), watch him light the league up and make a mockery of that fee now! I really don't get our approach to be honest, feels like we just don't want any actual squad depth at all?! What happens if Gomes or Andre gets a serious injury exactly?!
