Very good win despite going a goal behind very early on.
We look good going forward but still, at least to me, bit shaky at the back. Could and probably should have been 2 down but from then on we looked very good going forward.
Do we just have to accept that we may concede goals in order to play a better attacking style of play?
Don’t know how to spell Djiga but he looks good to me, still not 100% sure on Toti if I am honest, would prefer a replacement as no sign of Krejci again, Santi on bench.
Guess all will become more clear after Tuesday, onwards and upwards. ??

Banksy51, totally agree. Going forward looks good, but that defence. It gives me nightmares. Toti is useless. How many times on Wolves' left did Stoke exploit. Same as the Blackburn game, but Stoke couldn't take advantage. Ceasar needs to change that back line. If we meet a decent team, we could really suffer.

Nasser Djiga was superb, as was Lopez, Gomes, and Raul. Actually, the whole team played well. I heard a few sat by me moaning about Mane, but he did well in the lead up to our first goal. The more he plays, the better his decision making will become.

Totally agree with the posters above. There was too much space for Stoke's attackers in our area. Better sides could hurt us.

Plus, what a signing James is going to be, took his goal well and, when match fit, certain to start. Still think another striker plus RW before window shuts. Worried if Santi or Krejkci leave.

Early days, but we look sharp in front of goal. Nine already this season. I've only seen highlights, but the Stoke goal looked defensively poor, with the guy in way too much space.

We all played our parts today. However, I'm going to say that Toti, Munetsi and, sadly, Mane are the players to replace.
Toti is just Toti everywhere, Munetsi runs and then runs some more, but isn't the most productive.
Mane, so much talent, not enough nous yet; his decision making, possibly confidence, isn't up to speed yet, and twice he could have led to another team converting, had it not been for Stoke.
Not the best to start with imo, but until Seids fit?
That's not taking away from the win; it was a nice performance, and apart from the first 10mins, when we could have found ourselves 2 down, we looked very comfortable.
Let's see how we fare in London Tuesday now.

Abbeywolf, totally agree with you. Munetsi does run a lot, but nothing else. That's why I said James has to start sooner rather than later. Toti is useless, got to get somebody else or Wolves will get hammered. The left side of Wolves defence with Toti does just not cover when Bueno attacks. He has not got a clue, so wide open.

Arddunby1, I disagree with the comment about the Stoke goal and that we gave him too much space. He was 25+ yds out and moving sideways across the pitch, with defenders in place and no other attackers around.
As a defender, I wouldn't worry about a chance taken that far out in those circumstances, especially w Sa in net, but this time he hit a worldie. He probably couldn't replicate that shot if he tried another 99 times!

I'm sort of with Arddunby, NJ, I think the ball was hooked inward by Fer, might be wrong, and, again, may be wrong, Munetsi couldn't control it, he tried grabbing the Stoke player, but he struck it beautifully.
The element was Fer hooking the ball in, hoping Munetsi would get it, not blaming him or whoever, it broke kindly for Stoke, but the ball should have gone outwards to be sure (If in doubt, kick it out, etc.).
We gave them the opportunity.

When Gallagher shot, he had gone past Munetsi by about a yard, and put the shot between two defenders, maybe 5+ yards apart, and to the right of Sa. I do agree, though, that he'll probably never score that goal again, NJ. I've screenshotted it, but don't seem able to upload images.

I saw the replay, but it was hard to tell the gap left by our defenders. Probably the fault lies with Munetsi, who allowed him to get free a bit. I would still prefer opponents' shots from out there than open looks inside the box.
It's a moot point anyway. The team responded after that early goal. Maybe that ends up being a good confidence builder for the team, knowing they can overcome an early setback!

NJ, definitely confidence building, and in the grand scheme of things, not really a big deal. Next 3 fixtures will be more challenging, I suspect.

It's lovely to be winning games again, and we seem to have a cutting edge going forward, but I fear our defence will be overrun when we face the better teams in the league. Perhaps we will have to be reliant on the "score one more goal than you" mentality this season.
