Does anyone have an concrete update on the Anderson Talisca deal?

Loanwolf

1.) 02 Aug 2016 16:06:24
The deal is off and he has returned to Portugal. His wage demands were to high.

2.) 02 Aug 2016 16:16:17
Another average unproven player to go with the others and our average unproven manager. No wonder moxey wants out, its the solbaken era all over again.

3.) 02 Aug 2016 16:23:44
A Bola said today that we're just waiting for a work permit.

4.) 02 Aug 2016 16:26:28
Because you are ITK, if it was a no truth in the deal happening, the club would have come out and said it wasn't happening.

5.) 02 Aug 2016 16:37:38
You sure Lawsy? I heard he is waiting for the visa to pass before it can confirmed.?

6.) 02 Aug 2016 17:06:21
Its on twitter sayin he's waitin for a work permit.

7.) 02 Aug 2016 17:16:37
Talicsa deal will go ahead providing he can get his Work Permit.

8.) 02 Aug 2016 17:17:08
"O médio brasileiro Talisca ainda aguarda pela necessária autorização para jogar em Inglaterra e aceitar o convite do Wolverhampton, segundo refere A BOLA.

Apenas quando chegar a licença de trabalho concedida pela Federação inglesa (FA) é que Talisca poderá rumar a Inglaterra.

OR TRANSLATED - Reported in A-Bola in Portugal today

The Brazilian midfielder Talisca still waiting for authorization to play in England and to accept the invitation of Wolverhampton, according to the ball.

"Only when the work permit granted by the English Federation (FA) is that you can find Talisca England. "

9.) 02 Aug 2016 18:05:52
I would say tht it's over u don't wait tht long for a permit.

10.) 02 Aug 2016 20:52:46
It depends on the situation and he's just about to go in the Brazil Olympic team so I don't think he's that rushed.

11.) 02 Aug 2016 21:37:28
Yes you do for a non EU player it is now a very complicated process as the rules have changed recently as regards work permits.
This is suggest is a very valid reason for the hold up on Talisca.

Wolves set to sign three players today:
Pele - Permanent
Silvio - Loan
Helder Costa - Loan

Source - Express and Star.

1.) 27 Jul 2016 07:40:35
Hasn't Silvio been released?

2.) 27 Jul 2016 08:19:53
We need Sako back. Even if we have to pay a fee, we should. I hope Shi is reading this.

3.) 27 Jul 2016 08:21:49
He is contracted to Athletico, was loaned out to Benfica last season.

4.) 27 Jul 2016 08:26:40
I think Jackett better start learning Portugese!

5.) 27 Jul 2016 08:36:49
Sako as gone move on let the good times begin.

6.) 27 Jul 2016 08:40:16
I think JACKETT and Thellwell best ask Moxey to get them a job at Norwich! It will be Big Jeffs and Mendes team. Can't see how he can stay as coach as he won't be able to pick his buddies over their signins.

7.) 27 Jul 2016 08:52:31
Just read up on Silvio and he seems injury prone. Nasty knee injury few years back that relapsed a lot and then at Benfica broke his leg. Only played 17 games in 3 seasons at Benfica. Hoping his injuries are behind him now as he obviously has quality having signed a 5 year contract at Atletico and having played in Europa League run with Braga all the way to the final. Fingers crossed!

8.) 27 Jul 2016 08:52:47
Sako wouldn't come back IMO. He left for Premiership football, that he rightly deserved. He's not going to come back to us for 2 more seasons in the Chump.

9.) 27 Jul 2016 08:55:15
Paul T,

It's increasingly obvious that Kenny is just a caretaker coach now.
Full credit to new owners not rushing to replace Kenny until the right man is available.

10.) 27 Jul 2016 09:31:01
I agree Deep Throat.

11.) 27 Jul 2016 09:37:09
Another player i'd like to see next season is Liam Bridcutt, watched him a few times when he was at Brighton and he is better than anything we currently have and he is available for transfer.

12.) 27 Jul 2016 09:39:35
Non-of those three players have played a lot of football lately. With the knowledge that it takes a year to settle in English football I am worried that these players are not the type of players we need. I really hope I'm wrong.

Would love to see is sign some English proven talent.

13.) 27 Jul 2016 09:50:07
I know we're only in the Championship and aren't going to get stars in full flow at the peak of their careers, but I hope this isn't us already being used as a feeder club for Mendes, for him to rehabilitate talent / give it a second chase when it's failed to make it. Because these players, although Portuguese, do seem to be on the sidelines / to have stalled a bit in their careers.

It seems Fosun have Mendes as their football advisor, I suspect he's going to advise them on what's good for Mendes rather than us, it will be interesting to see how and if it works.

14.) 27 Jul 2016 09:50:28
Lincs Wolf,

Sako hasn't quite made it in the PL. He's deadly in our league though. He showed loyalty to us in League One. I'd sign him if he would come. Maybe we will sign better players with the money behind us?

15.) 27 Jul 2016 09:57:10
If we sign Lemar, Cavaleiro, Silver, Van Der Vaart and Talisca, I'll be a very happy man.

16.) 27 Jul 2016 10:07:02
Sako would definitely come back if we paid him correctly this time, he loves being the centre of attention. It's far cheaper than some of the other options I keep hearing, and probably better. The difference between Sako being in the team or not = 25 points.

How difficult can it be? Please listen Mr Shi, please.

17.) 27 Jul 2016 10:12:04
Ulf,

Mendes's company is part of the Fosun group. He in reality works for Fosun.

18.) 27 Jul 2016 10:15:50
Wouldn't mind seeing Duffy, Pritchard, Bentaleb, Crouch, Bridcutt, Enrique, Ola John.

19.) 27 Jul 2016 10:59:44
I think wavidsmith has a load of sako wolves merchandize he needs to flog because all I'm seeing nowadays is calls for sako and his name underneath lol. Just like to point out the 25 points you tally as being the difference between sako and no sako have you taken into account our undefeated run in the January when sako was on African nations cup duty. I think you'll find our biggest loss of points between last season and the season before was in fact dicko. As can be judged with the stats example being our run of 5 straight defeats in November to December involved sako in all fixtures but no dicko.

20.) 27 Jul 2016 11:09:34
Deep,
I don't agree he hasn't made it. He was unfortunate to get injured. He shouldn't have gone to Palace in the first place as they already had plenty of options in his place. The games he has played, he has impressed. He's too good for two more years in the Championship, especially considering he's 28.
He expressed a desire to play Premiership football, if he was available there will be more than a few Prem teams in for him.

21.) 27 Jul 2016 11:20:23
Alvinsmate I agrre with you totally. I don't mind having some players from overseas but, if we become a feeder team as you are suggesting, the players coming in won't bring the championship experience and knowledge.

I would like to see some proven championship players. For example I would like to see us challenge Norwich for McCormack.

22.) 27 Jul 2016 11:33:18
Totally agree Sbrek, As soon as Dicko got injured against Charlton I knew we were in trouble last season. Sako was more the icing on the cake in my opinion, but Dicko was more important. Remember all those 1-0 wins we had with Dicko nicking a goal for us. Sako and Dicko did play brilliantly together tho. Hopefully Shi/ Mendes will get us a decent striker (hopefully 2) to go with Mason and Dicko.

23.) 27 Jul 2016 11:40:13
I get that Deep Throat, but Fosun still seem to be taking Mendes's advice as gospel, trusting him as a 'very good friend'. I just suspect if Mendes was Sako's agent, he'd be bobs on to come back, but because he's not, I doubt he'll even get considered. We shall see though, not being negative, just observing that Fosun are maybe a bit out of their depth trusting people. But if so they'll learn which hopefully means whatever, it will come right in the end :-)

24.) 27 Jul 2016 12:23:55
Fosun actually own a minority share in Mendes' agency, he definitely dosen't work for Fosun. Whatever he makes Fosun get a part of, it's that simple. It's a win-win situation for both parties.

25.) 27 Jul 2016 12:46:05
I'm pretty sure Mendes is simply recommending us realistic targets at the moment, specifically ones that won't cost a whole lot and can fill in where we are lacking. I don't think he's trying to secretly mug us off with some dodgy signings, these are all very talented players that have signed for champions league teams fairly recently.

And for those calling for McCormack, do you really want to break our transfer record with the £12m signing of a striker that's only ever played in the championship? Yes, he could prove to be good in the premier league at some point as well but, don't you think if he was good enough, someone would've given him the opportunity by now? Also, if we did sign McCormack, think about how much the shirts are going to cost to get his name on the back haha.

26.) 27 Jul 2016 12:57:43
Pritchard needs be a top priority he a great player would compliment our team well also need that experiance that been missing be interesting see who we get for this - is van der vaart this guy not got pace but be cut above most in championship.

27.) 27 Jul 2016 13:19:40
I agree Mendes isn't trying to mug us off, I just mean I wonder if it's causing our searchlight for players to have a much more narrow beam, ie only looking at the players Mendes has on his books, rather than the larger football world.

I'd like Sako back, I just think it's much less likely with Mendes not being his agent than it would be if he was.

What are the views on the signings we need to make. I feel we need a CB (with experience) as Batth is getting found out in the Championship, and Williamson is injury prone. I also think we need another ST and holding midfielder as Evans isn't good enough.

Loanwolf

1.) 07 Aug 2016 17:08:01
Mason price doc ect can go 2.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 17:16:25
Striker -Asabulonga notts Forest
Midfield - Hendrick Derby
CB - Maguire Hull City.

3.) 07 Aug 2016 17:19:08
Better still in midfield INLER of Leicester.

4.) 07 Aug 2016 17:57:52
Williamson injury prone? Nah he's just plain old injured. Doubt we'll ever see him again.

5.) 07 Aug 2016 18:04:11
I would agree with all that loan wolf.
Maguire would be a good shout as would Inler, Forest would never flog us Assombalonga, still think Crouch would be a good shout for a season or so, that's saying we could get him to drop a division.

6.) 07 Aug 2016 18:17:13
Why all the hate towards batth? Look at Morgan at lcfc he's just a ball winner like batth, players get better with quality around them. and better coaches, give batth time and stop asking for 20 new players.

7.) 07 Aug 2016 18:36:13
May I respectfully suggest they just lay off batth?
Did you see the photo of him and WZ at the end of the game "rutting"?
He ain't going anywhere guys.

8.) 07 Aug 2016 19:07:16
I think we may see better performances from the likes of Batth and Mason now that there is more quality coming into the team and a coach that knows how to get the best from them!

9.) 07 Aug 2016 22:23:46
We need a decent keeper.

10.) 08 Aug 2016 08:41:41
Some people just want a full clear out like they're playing football manager. Players get better when surrounded by better players and with experience. Iorfa and Hause will have great futures and Baath is still young in terms of a centre back. It's not a computer game where all your players need 80+ pace.

Most successful CB pairings over the years always had the aggressive ball winner and the footballing CB. With a good holding midfielder in front of them I'd give Baath and Hause a chance between now and January. Silvio at the back with them will give them experience so if we could get an Inler type player i'd be happy enough to see how they develop. Remember there was more pressure on them last year as we had no threat up front. This year will be different.

With only a few hours before the press conference, what's everyone's opinions on what should happen in terms of the manager?

My opinion is that wolves need fresh faces within the club starting from the top (which has happened) down to the coaching staff and players. I would personally be happy with Bruce, Martinez or Silva who has been linked with the job, if Jackett is to leave.

Loanwolf

1.) 25 Jul 2016 10:39:02
Jackett will stay until January I reckon minimum funds until then.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 10:42:28
I'm not a Jackett fan but I would consider this. He took over when Wolves were in dire straits following back to back relegations and got us back to the Championship at the first attempt. On a restricted budget we then just missed the playoffs the next season. O. K. last season wasn't good but it took place under the cloud of turmoil with the future uncertain. My concern is that he has no track record of getting clubs to the Premier League but who knows if he has a good budget and support. The need to settle things is important and getting new playing staff is vital. What should not be done is to run headlong into the wrong managerial appointment as with Connor and Saunders. let's wait and see it's only an hour and a half now.

3.) 25 Jul 2016 10:57:50
Wolabby your bang on the money.

I would like to see a proven championship goal scorer e. g. Ross McCormack, also and quality number 10, and a winger who has a proven record of assists and can chip in with a few goals.
