Jose Fonte to join Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £6 million deal.

Just popped up in news now.

1.) 17 Jan 2018 20:45:18
Hope not he's 34 😞😞😞.

2.) 17 Jan 2018 21:43:16
I disagree davetcb. He has huge experience, would be a very good signing and if we get him I would let Baath go, keep Hause and Miranda but probably let Miranda move on in the summer.

3.) 17 Jan 2018 21:56:08
More likely to be his younger brother Rui? Fulham paid more than that for him just a few months back. also Striker with 1 goal in 20aps. seems weird.

4.) 17 Jan 2018 23:03:58
Really at £6m for a 34 yr old noooooo. 😣.

5.) 17 Jan 2018 23:32:51
Don’t understand this one myself. Our defence is fine and doesn’t really need additional cover at the moment. Having seen Rafa Mir today i’m not convinced he’s what we need. (I know it’s still very early) I think one more I’m up top and a creative midfielder for cover of Neves. N’Diaye is a good player but he’s not a Neves type player.

6.) 18 Jan 2018 09:57:27
We need a proven striker badly, and a midfielder who is creative and can go forward .
It showed last night nobody up front to hold ball up and the back 3 had bad games
In truth there was nothing positive about players who came in except Gibbs White who for is age had a good game, Mir had a shocking game as to do better than that, also let's not forget Swansea are not a great side, just speaking the truth as I find it, that's 3 games now were we have scored only 1 goal perhaps sides are getting use to we, but Nuno will sort it out I am sure and I just hope that's our bad spell.

7.) 18 Jan 2018 10:19:36
Jose fonte. really . no way. not good enough for us. Mind you neithers batth. hause. miranda. but surely nuno knows this. last night just shows our second string not up to premier league and I fully expect them to be gone for next season. rollbon saturday . put our best team out. league title is prority.

8.) 18 Jan 2018 15:33:57
Fonte - long term injury, still not playing. Can't see it.

9.) 18 Jan 2018 15:50:18
Ayew ripped apart batth n Hause. Batths time is up at wolves get rid. Hause needs a season long loan and to be used as back up.

10.) 18 Jan 2018 16:56:30
How can he be used as back up when he’s out on loan? He played well with coady and Bennett in the first game. To be fair to the lad he slipped and he misplaced a pass not really horrific considering he hasn’t been playing regularly. Obviously he should be playing like boly or kompany . He obviously isn’t as good as a champions league player nearly 5 years he’s senior that in boly not regarding kompany :)

It’s way to quiet something is going on.

Guardian Sport deputy news editor Ed Aarons claimed on his personal Twitter account on Thursday night that Wolves are in a race with the Premier League club for Bastien, 21, and a loan move is the most likely option.
It is understood that the loan deal could include an option to buy at the end of the season.

I have a translation of a Rumanian sports paper article which tells of what happened to Wolves' 2 attempts to sign a striker:

Wolverhampton Wanderers agents went to Romania and to the Netherlands to negotiate the transfer terms of FCSB’s Romanian striker Denis Alibec (26) and Dutchman Jurgen Locadia (23) from PSV Eindhoven.

Due to the extremely short time of the transfer period, Wolves management set out to acquire the two players to prevent a double failure and Wolverhampton prepared emergency options for Alibec or Locadia to carry out the medical before midnight.

The agent who arrived in Bucharest immediately entered into talks with Valeriu Argaseala, the offer being 10 million euros, of which 10 percent was to be returned to the agent. If FCSB agreed to the sum, Wolverhampton had prepared a written offer.

Alibec agreed personal terms (a weekly salary of nearly 25,000 euros) that would have earned him a five times higher income than in Romania!
The talks lasted until around 7pm, but they came to a standstill due to George Becali's request. The financier raised the price to 15 million euros, 50 percent more than Wolves offered. €25 million is Denis Alibec's buyout clause set out in his FCSB contract.

Knowing about the block in the negotiations in Romania, the heads of Wolverhampton urged the transfer of Jurgen Locadia and flew him in at 7pm local time by private plane to the Wolverhampton. Locadia was undergoing a full medical visit when his transfer collapsed!

PSV coach Phillip Cocu decided to keep Locadia due to the failure of the negotiations with an attacker chosen to replace Locadia, so the English club missed out, but managed to loan in the defensive midfielder Alfred N'Diaye from Villarreal.
Alibec stayed at FCSB after a Summer of talks with English clubs, Stoke City, Hull City and Wolverhampton.

1.) 19 Sep 2017 15:24:05
We left it late but we had a bloody good try.

2.) 19 Sep 2017 18:25:15
Yes we did . Onwards and upwards COYW.

3.) 19 Sep 2017 20:24:23
Who's this buur guy who's starting today.

4.) 20 Sep 2017 11:27:18
Interesting, especially as the club have come out and said signing a striker wasn't a priority. Private planes on deadline day shows it being a clear priority.

5.) 20 Sep 2017 14:26:34
Irrespective of the priorities, which change dependant upon many external factors, Wolves have shown new values which are constant and consistant.
The fact that we have the calibre to have tried to do business in this way and not be blackmailed into paying over the odds is world class business practice, rather than getting into the reactive cattle market of football that many clubs fall into.
We are in safe hands. I suspect that the two strikers we were chasing may already be on our radar for January.

18 Jul 2016 19:55:07
20th July we will know if first consortium has been successful, is what I am be told.

DerbyWolf

1.) 18 Jul 2016 20:06:23
Who is first consortium?

2.) 18 Jul 2016 20:16:37
Who as told you this Derbywolf, well not the name we now you will not say that but give us a clue say 80% 90% or are you 100% sure or are you another shit fan in disguise jelous of us being taken over.

3.) 18 Jul 2016 20:20:49
Yawn.

4.) 18 Jul 2016 20:35:36
As time goes on and on I'm feeling more that the spanish map dos'nt show Brom and someone pointed at Wolverhampton.! and they looked up wolves and ran it. Please let it not be the s**** . The thought of Moxey heading a takeover makes me sick. Its a pain now and if nothing else we should be given some kind of statement. The club are not giving a t*** about us. What a way to carry on.

5.) 18 Jul 2016 21:29:54
Another ITK who knows nothing, come on you lot just wait for announcement, nobody knows nothing, not even the players, so sandwell fans, bored kids, drama queens, attention seekers, jog on!

6.) 18 Jul 2016 21:30:39
Bigwolf fully understand your sentiment, l have known some stuff for weeks and frankly doing my head in. So I an wire happy to divulge privately to the editor my season ticket number etc to verify.
I do not know who is involved on the leading consortium, but we all will know in 48 hours if they have been successful or not.
If not successful I know of 2 consortium's in line waiting.
Information is from two sources I have know for a lot of years and trust. Both devote Wolves fans.

7.) 18 Jul 2016 21:41:04
More drivel.

8.) 18 Jul 2016 21:41:09
So less than 48 hours and we will if my info is correct.

9.) 18 Jul 2016 21:42:11
I take it if they are successful we will hear later in the week then?

10.) 18 Jul 2016 21:43:43
Who are the other 2 consortiums involved if the first one fails?

11.) 18 Jul 2016 21:47:20
It's Tweedledum and Tweedledee's consortium's.

12.) 18 Jul 2016 22:00:40

Paul t next group on line is Chinese but does not include Robin Li. They will come in if first group do not finalise on 20th July.
Third group are a mixture, mainly Europeans, they were impressed with the while c set up and with Morgan!
Information from two separate sources who I have known for a long time and neither would make it up that's for sure.
I apologise now for telling you this I should have just said something like "squeaky bum time is 20 July"
Again happy to verify to editor I am season ticket holder.

13.) 18 Jul 2016 22:03:57
What a load of tosh. fact is since nda signed we will not hear nothing until its completed. its as simple as that.

14.) 18 Jul 2016 22:08:23
Just say who it is, the football league or fa have had the paperwork. Give a big clue else?

15.) 18 Jul 2016 22:10:06
Correct you won't took 20th July.

16.) 18 Jul 2016 22:10:11
Are these Americans or British then?

17.) 18 Jul 2016 22:11:07
Ed thanks for taking out my rude comment!

{Ed003's Note - more the point it could cause the thread to end up a row,no need.}

18.) 18 Jul 2016 22:16:45
Do 2nd consortium is Chinese 3rd is European wbu the main one.

19.) 18 Jul 2016 22:16:54
Sorry Paul what are you asking me?

20.) 18 Jul 2016 22:33:11
No Brits, no Americans and no Moxey.

21.) 18 Jul 2016 22:37:13
I think the uncertainty is starting to get us all fearful of the coming season and let's face it no one really knows what's going on. Derby Wolf I appreciate you have contacts but why would only the first consortium have a deadline and why would it fail I'm not sure. Surely the only reason any will fail is the fit and proper test by the league and let's face it if the Leeds owner can pass then anyone can. It will be interesting if a takeover goes through who will come on here and say my contacts full of it. We'll see.

22.) 18 Jul 2016 22:57:05
If u know 2 out the 3, as a Wolves fan which would be the best one for the club in your opinion.

23.) 18 Jul 2016 22:58:56
Darbo I am not after glory of any kind
Should have kept my mouth shut, sorry made a mistake giving out what I knew.

24.) 19 Jul 2016 07:57:32
Hope your right Derby, and hope the 1st consortium is wealthy and ambitious.

25.) 19 Jul 2016 09:25:00
Derby I wasn't looking to shoot you down sorry if you thought that. I would be happy to get new owners in sooner rather than later and I hope you're right at least your posts differs to a lot of others jumping on the band wagon and saying they are ITK.

26.) 19 Jul 2016 09:53:15
Nobody am in the know. let alone people writing crap on here. we've had a announcement every day for the last 3 weeks.

27.) 19 Jul 2016 05:58:42
Isn't Blackpool's owner a convicted rapist? Or was that after he's already purchased the club? Or does 'fit and proper' only cover finances and that?

{Ed003's Note - After }

28.) 19 Jul 2016 16:11:03
I think you have to look at the Blackpools owner father Mr Owen Oysten for the answer to that question!

{Ed001's Note - Owen is the owner, Karl, the son, is the chairman.}

29.) 19 Jul 2016 16:27:43
All I can say is the wait is killing us all.

30.) 19 Jul 2016 21:09:55
The same ITK people who posted it would happen last week? Just keep singing tomorrow tomorrow.

29 Jun 2016 12:19:12
So, what is the latest regarding a buy out?
All these guys in the know what is the latest?
See if it matches with what I know.

DerbyWolf

1.) 29 Jun 2016 12:43:39
Robin Li? Worth over 14 billion dollars?

2.) 29 Jun 2016 12:57:11
DerbyWolf. I know nothing but either we are being taken over, or, the situation is worse than I thought. OK, we bought a cheap 'keeper, but it was essential to bring one in anyway. Nothing else has happened, and that is hardly normal even for Wolves.

3.) 29 Jun 2016 14:14:10
I feel sure Deep Throat it is not the latter so try to stay positive, what I was told took me by surprise as I have known the guy for a long time and he does not make up stories especially like this.
He didn't appreciate Non disclosure so explained it and he appreciates the need for silence, for now
We won't have to wait long.

4.) 29 Jun 2016 22:06:59
I said a bout a week ago things had gone to quiet at Wolves and now this news today here in spain. Moxey has never come out so quickly to rubuff any other rumour about the takeover so why now?

I admire Nuno's principles but refusing to temporarily adjust his tactics to meet the needs of the club is asking to get your p45.
I cannot see where we are going to get any points this year as he blindly insists o
n sticking to His formation.
So can we get odds on Lopetigui being our new manager for 2019?

DerbyWolf

1.) 01 Dec 2018 11:40:32
His stubbornness will cost him his job and us points. Or has he only got one plan?

2.) 01 Dec 2018 11:56:40
Totally agree Paul T, so far he is showing he only has one plan and that is not good for a potentially successful manager in the making.
Adapt or we are doomed
BTW Paul how can I get odds on Lopetigui becoming out next manager its worth a £10 bet in my view.

3.) 01 Dec 2018 12:34:03
Just been on s-y bet and their offerin 8/ 1 on Nuno bein next prem manager sacked? Second favourite behind mark Hughes. Can't see any bettin on that site for a new manager. Sorry.

4.) 01 Dec 2018 12:45:04
Have to agree with you PT as much as I love Nuno he is costing us by not changing his tactics, sometimes even a simple 442 would be enough but he seems determined on his current tactics which isn't working anymore as we've been found out.
Let's not turn on the team or manager though guys it is frustrating and annoying but we are the pack.

{Ed025's Note - well pack it in.. :)

5.) 01 Dec 2018 12:54:15
I don’t post on here that frequently but always like to read everyone’s comments
So my thought if you look back we weren’t great last season from December we need a plan b and c but Nuno as much as he’s a great guy needs to be more flexible with his approach when games aren’t working with the current formation but when he says I’m not changing every team nows what’s coming my team for yesterday would have been
Patricio
Bennet coady Boly
Dendonker
Doc Neves. Moutinio vinagre
Jota Raul.

6.) 01 Dec 2018 12:56:20
Only way Nuno will be sacked is if we are relegated. We won't be so Nuno is here for the long term.

7.) 01 Dec 2018 15:40:49
Fosun plans are to big to risk a relegation, we need to start winnin soon or he will get the bullet. Remember the Spanish guy who we went for first off is available? Pressure on Nuno!

8.) 01 Dec 2018 17:02:17
Yes Paul that is Lopetigui the one I am hunting for odds on taking over from Nuno if results do not change
Fosun will not mess about.

9.) 01 Dec 2018 17:23:16
I've already taken the 8's on offer. Can't see a way out of this rut. This is not a blip, it's a slide with nowhere to get off. A team with no confidence and no direction.

10.) 01 Dec 2018 18:36:52
Nuno is 1 year ahead of schedule. The plan was to get promotion THIS season. The 1st season in the PL is a season of adjustment and finding our feet. Fosun are not expecting a title push. They want to make sure we survive first and see where we need to improve. I cannot believe that some on here have turned on Nuno when we're 12th yes 12th in the table.

11.) 01 Dec 2018 19:39:27
I agree Jas, a sense of perspective is needed. Yes, its a worrying run of results and the last couple of performances have been well below what we have come to expect but it was always going to happen at some point. The Prem is tough, not a cakewalk. We need to stay fully behind Nuno and the team.

12.) 01 Dec 2018 21:03:33
I'm behind them a million percent when I'm at the games, but on here you have to say it as u see it. One point out the last 18 isn't good enough, Nuno needs to learn a plan b and c, as his tactics aren't workin or has he lost the players as their definitely under achieving! Hopefully things buck up soon or Nuno will be gone.

13.) 01 Dec 2018 21:04:57
Jas M and Statto Wolf, I think you are missing the point. Every fan loves what Nuno has done for us but only a blind man and Nuno couldn't see what needed doing against Huddersfield and Cardiff. It was a basic shift of formation and we wouldn't be over run in the middle. It is unfortunately inevitable that if he doesn't adapt he will be sacked or we will be relegated again. No one is turning against the team, people are just expressing concern as there is plenty at the moment.

14.) 01 Dec 2018 21:36:05
Guys I an also behind Nuno and the team 1 trillion % I will never vocally criticise either ever.
BUT please understand if Nuno does not find a solution to this issue then I genuinely believe he will be for the chop.
I have supported WWFC for over 60+ years and Nuno has brought ous some of the best football I have seen, I don't want him to go, but that completely wrests with him.

15.) 01 Dec 2018 21:43:22
Camo, I think Nuno is aware of what is going on. The bigger teams don't change their tactics when they play is allowing us to play our way. The likes of Huddesfield and Brighton will change their tactics game by game. It is these games that Nuno needs to look at.

16.) 01 Dec 2018 23:15:43
Totally agree Jas.

17.) 01 Dec 2018 23:27:07
Jas M, The point is he doesn't change. Huddersfield and Cardiff both harassed us and out numbered us, which the top teams don't do. Nuno needs to recognise change is needed. Take Cardiff, even if he didn't change the system surely he could see Traore and Costa were doing nothing and could have cone off after half an hour. He is too Stubborn, which is such a shame.

18.) 02 Dec 2018 00:40:03
Camo, no he doesn't. Nuno plays a certain way and it had proved successful in the past. Teams may have sussed us out but why change to a system that the players ain't used to. True, we need a plan B but this season us about survival. Anyone who thought we would come up an challenge for the European places was living in cloud cuckoo land. We won't be in a relegation fight as Fosun will buy in January but the players bought in will be loan players unless the right one is available. This is a long term project. Fosun will not accept failure but they will not dispense with Nuno unless we're in real danger if going down.

19.) 02 Dec 2018 08:29:22
Jas M I agree about fans thinking Europe, it was utter madness. The system has not always worked in the past which is the worry. Villa, Fulham and Cardiff away all poor games for us (let's face it Cardiff was a lucky win) . They had us sussed and were good enough to carry it out. It doesn't matter who we buy if our manager is stubborn in games we need a change. Take his purchase of Bonatini, I am sure no one else thought what a great piece of business. Let's just hope we can get back into playing better.

20.) 02 Dec 2018 09:08:30
Has my point about changing tactics is the point that his system needs tweeking for certain games not scrapping it. That is what I mean about changing.
He can keep his system, but take the Udders game, the fullback's could have been moved into midfield to bolster it. Plus just as a one off get Coast to step up to CDM to add the missing muscle to Nerves and Moutinho. Give them a chance to play call this plan B if you like)
Next match revert to plan A
I am not saying scrap his system just make it better by being adaptable when needed.

21.) 02 Dec 2018 11:00:58
Camo etc. Teams are changing there tactics against Wolves this season. There was confusion amongst the Cardiff fans on Friday as they are used to playing 4411 but changed to a 352 to stifle us. The same thing happened against Huddersfield. Man City, Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd didn't change their formations when they faced us. It is against the smaller clubs that Nuno needs a plan B and C as the objective is to stop us and hit us on the counter. Last season we were unstoppable but unless we steam roller the opposition early on, they are set up to nullify our game.

22.) 02 Dec 2018 17:46:02
Mini please put another player in mid field. Getting over run every game. Options are limited to Morgan G W.

Met Ernie Hunt at Cov Legends 2 years ago. Great character - liked a drink too! Unforgettable free kick with other ex-Wolves/ Cov Willie Carr.

If Big Jeff wants a new ground take a look at Spurs ground looks amazing.
Got a big 1 tier end behind the goals too.

DerbyWolf

1.) 14 May 2018 12:49:53
Got to agree that the ground looks good. Just a shame that it's cost them more than originally planned and they are potentially going to have to sell Kane, Alli and Eriksen to help finance it.

2.) 14 May 2018 13:35:19
It won't be a shame if Spurs sell all 3 of them to us!

3.) 14 May 2018 18:30:00
While we are praising the new Spurs ground. Just remember. we are going there this year 👍👍😁😁.

urgent urgent
i am watching sky sports news
paul lambert is sitting at the news desk live!
he has the title of wolves manager.

DerbyWolf

1.) 18 May 2017 11:01:20
Lambert looks relaxed because he knows if he leaves he has a job at Norwich for sure. No questions asked about managerial or coaching role at wolves for future suprise suprise.

2.) 18 May 2017 11:06:34
I asked one of the players about managerial situation no one knows for sure fosun are keeping cards close to chest. But they have definitely had meetings about it.

3.) 18 May 2017 11:10:06
No Future Wolves talk, he's gone 👍.

4.) 18 May 2017 11:36:12
Lambert just said live on sky that there has been no rift between him and fosun and that he is staying. make of that what u want. personally don't believe it's all hunky dory but he could stay possible.

17 May 2017 21:55:45
Some fans are critcising the E&S for starting all of this but it was the Telegraph that broke the story not E&S.
This has been suggested to be the work of PL and his pal Percy is it? Who works for the Telegraph. I can see Fosun pouncing on this and shutting him up with a gagging order as part of his pay off. OK fair enough but why do they need to do that?
Gag him why?
The rest makes no sense at all either. If he's gone he's gone just press conference it or press release with usual stuff about a successor being sort.
So why the silence?
Is there "Something rotten in the state of Denmark (China)?
Is Jeff Shi being hauled over he coals?
Or is he fighting his corner and attempting to convince the powers that be that what he said in his last full interview is the best way forward?
This would make some sense as to the total silence from the club.
They must know about the high level of agitation from the fans and from some of the press. Therefore is the transfer rumours a poor attempt to make things look normal?
There is only WWFC who could turn a potential change of coach into a full blown crisis.

DerbyWolf

1.) 17 May 2017 23:08:12
A crisis? Bit dramatic that! It's May our first league fixture isn't till August! What people are findin strange is the wall of silence from Fosun, before people have always got snippets of what's going on behind the scenes, just shows how unprofessional Lambert and his cronies have been leakin stuff to his mate Percy! If I was Fosun I'd of sacked him just for that never mind him bein a borin tactically inept coach who's thrown his toys out the pram because he hasn't got his own way! Really hope he's gone and the coachin staff and Thelwell!

2.) 18 May 2017 09:23:17
Why do you incessantly go on about Lambert?
What is happening is bigger than that. I believe Lambert has gone, compensated plus a gagging order.

3.) 18 May 2017 10:04:05
Hope so.

4.) 18 May 2017 10:05:26
And il keep going on about him till I'm 100% positive he's not at Wolves!

The answer is the PL have put a total incompetent in charge of our football rules. Let's face it why have they created different rules compared to the rest of the football World? Fact.
Is to hide the total incompetence of our referees? Non on FIFAs list.
Is it to do away with referees altogether so some faceless wonder can dictate to the game?
Or is it a set up to protect the Big 6 from us newly promoted TEAMS? LOOK AT THE STATS WHO HAS LOST OUT AND WHO HAS GAINED. FACT.
He who pays the piper so the saying goes
One very angry paying fan.

Elsewhere it's saying Atletico wants Uncle Jorge to sort a loan deal with us for Lemar. They want rid ASAP and they believe he has sufficient control/ influence at Wolves to make it happen. Alse want a loan to buy and pay at end of season.

I think guys we should be pointing a big finger at Atwell who was the VAR officiator. Dean will never change a decision he makes even when he knows he is wrong. But Atwell has the technology to advise him correctly. The freeze frame VAR uses shows clearly studs and feet off the ground - serious foul, I quote Roy Keane no less! I was watching a stream with Ince and Sherwood commentating and they were raging about the bad tackle. Dermott Gallagher was asked his opinion and he's sided with Dean/ Atwell. They both just smiled and shot him down!
Every ex pro stated "foul" even on MOTD2.

Posers? Yes
Oh and None of them are good enough or fit enough for FIFA referees yet they can dictate what the richest league in the can and cannot do.
The fans and money men are irrelevant.

Again I agree so why have the Premier altered things where no other country has?

Agreed Mike, my pal who sits next to me is a ref and said exactly that. But according to Halsey in one of the dailies, he came from a offside position so passing ball back irrelevant.
They just interpret the rule to suit don't they.

Agreed JAS, on Friday night at least 10 of us were angry enough to consider not renewing next season
We are being ripped off.
Shi, on our behalf of WWFC voted for this corrupt VAR system, so I recommend he backs an honest set up run on the sames guidines as the rest of the world and by honest people with the best intentions for our game and the paying fans.
And doing fast while they can.
