Great if the news that Saiss has signed is true. Chris Martin? - overpriced at £7m and not sure another striker is needed at this stage, Bodvarson, Gladon, Dicko, Mason, Enobakhare and Ennis seems enough to me.
Go get an experience central defender.

1.) 29 Aug 2016 16:41:43
Come on man. of course we need another striker. We're raving bonkers if we rely on Dicko being fit enough. plus beyond that we only have Bod who will score goals.

2.) 29 Aug 2016 16:59:10
WIZ as I decided to call him, i.e the boss/ manager is right to bid for him, and another quality target man if he can! It's a long season and if we get too many injuries we are stuffed. Go for it big time! Rhodes would be a good target man as well. We need options and lots of them. Tried and tested is good. 😀😀.

3.) 29 Aug 2016 16:59:30
Wolabby - I disagree, Enobakhare and Ennis aren't ready yet if they play more than 5 championship matches this season I'll be surprised (I actually doubt they'll play any other than maybe for experience at end of the season if nothing left to aim for) . I also think we need a pacey forward instead of or as cover for Dicko (chris martin is obv not this person as he's more like Bodvarson/ Gladon) .
So basically I'd like another forward and at least one central defender (although it's possible to play Borthwick-Jackson there or full back) .

4.) 29 Aug 2016 17:34:11
I agree we need another striker but I think I Jordan Rhodes better option looking at martins scoring rate doesn't look that gr8t we looking at Harrison reed soton midfielder on loan he's only 20.

5.) 29 Aug 2016 17:52:57
Martin been derby's top scorer for 3 seasons.

6.) 29 Aug 2016 17:53:23
Er hello. Joe Mason has scored 3 goal so far this season. Shouldn't he be given a chance seeing how everyone seems to think Bodvarsson is the better player but has scored less. Just a thought.

7.) 29 Aug 2016 18:14:41
Wish people would stop thinking about Mason getting 20 goals a season 'cos it will never happen. All he ever does when he gets the ball is turn backwards and pass it AWAY from the goal. I've seen him squander so many opportunities for the team from this and makes me tear my hair out.

8.) 29 Aug 2016 18:58:41
Think you lot have being playing fifa manager on psp to long saying who we need when your in charge then say who we can and who we can not buy.

9.) 29 Aug 2016 19:59:30
Wavid, if all Mason does is play the ball backwards he ain't doing too bad a job seeing as he's our top scorer above Bodvarsson.

10.) 29 Aug 2016 20:23:01
Wolabby, a goal scorer 20+ is imperative to getting out of this decision imo.

11.) 29 Aug 2016 22:56:02
I want Dunk from Brighton as a center half. I don't care how much we pay for him.

So here it is a direct admission from KJ that Wolves will not spend the money that will achieve promotion.
The direct quote:-
"But it is also a situation where even on player wages we're not going to just suddenly open up on wages.

"And while there is transfer funds available to buy players it's quite often wages that hold you back.

"And wages of players that can get you into the top two top six, top half of this division are very expensive.

"That's proving a difficulty. So while there is, for the right players, money available to go and spend, wages can be a big problem and for us and for Wolves we've worked hard to try to limit the very high demands and high wage bill that you can build up in the Championship. ".

1.) 27 Jan 2016 14:23:09
Yes, it's Kenny's way of saying we're not going even to compete to get into the top 6. If it happens, it will be luck. So, now we know.

2.) 27 Jan 2016 22:32:37
I know we been nxt to useless this season but why do folk have dig at every player we try or do sign -if young kid it not good enough cause he in development squad then if playerfor first team they not good enough either what we want club do sign Messi -get real we on tight budget so u get certain kind player that how it is surly it better to get behind any player in wolvrs shirt so long they give 110% for club.

Another last minute concession. Here comes trouble!

wolabby

13 Feb 2017 10:36:18
I see on here a lot of complaints that Wolves strikers are not scoring goals. However, to me this is not the only problem. A striker basically has three roles:

1. be an outlet from defense

2. set up second phase attack

3. score goals.

None of these three things are happening. Look at the likes of Berbatov and Ibrahimovic. Both appear to be lazy, do little running but both are superstars. This is because the do the fundamentals of their role excellently.

Not so with the likes of Dicko who does not have the physical presence, or, dare I say it the pace required by a man of smaller stature, to compensate for a lack of strength. Bodvarson has the physicality but not the skill to gather the ball, hold it and distribute it.

Hence, because of a lack of second phase the chances are noit coming. This is why most of Wolves goals are coming from set pieces or the skills of Costa doing it by himself.

This is a serious problem that could still put Wolves position in the Championship in jeopardy. Come on PL you need to sort it out.

wolabby

1.) 13 Feb 2017 15:58:15
I agree wolabby Dicko is mainly a provider not a scorer he was the foil for most of Afobes goals. Now he's asked to lead the attack he looks lost in front of goal. That's why I think a switch to 442 might help him out and help us create a few more chances.
Trouble is we got nobody to put them in the net.

2.) 13 Feb 2017 17:20:09
Being honest I for one never thought it would work with Dicho on is own up front, what's he done to improve side in how many months the striker situation is a joke at the moment and hopefully it will get sorted by Lambert for next season, do not want Lambert to keep saying the players have gave there all and played well every week, when it's clear they are down the bottom of league for a reason, because we are definitely in a relegation battle, don't want to even think about it if we lose against Wigan.
Watch out for ex wolves player Jacobs if he plays, sorry to be so negative but we need a big win against Wigan to give us some confidence before Chelsea match.

3.) 13 Feb 2017 17:51:58
come on lads let's stop slagging off our own players, we played top of the division and were unlucky, at least held our own, what discusts me atthe moment is the refereeing decisions, I think wolves have refused to pay into the referees fund this year. The only reason that benitez is going on about the wolves fans is to take away out of the news the obvious gift given to newcastle by the referee not sending off there forward. Clever man. Its about time the FA grew balls and started coming down on these cheats and play actors.

4.) 13 Feb 2017 17:54:49
Forget the Chelsea match, league points are far more important.

5.) 13 Feb 2017 18:54:34
Small strikers, I. e doesn't equal they are no good. There a little chap at Sunderland and Newcastle for example who know how to score goals. That's because, they know how to be in the right place at the right time.

Good positional play in the final third and composure in front of goal. I'll let you work out who the small strikers I refer to are. ⚽️👍.

6.) 13 Feb 2017 19:54:17
It helps if we play a system that suits the players we have.
We're not at the minute that's why we are where we are.

7.) 13 Feb 2017 20:44:00
Relegation to League One and then rebuild around a core of Burgoyne, Batth, Price and Ennis - this is highly likely scenario for 2017 into next season.

8.) 14 Feb 2017 15:11:07
With giving these players long term contracts makes me think, do Fosun want to go for promotion next season, giving contracts to average players seams a waste of more money to me and will not help to sell season tickets.
Realy hope I am proved wrong but I am not impressed with long term contracts for Dicho, Edwards, Bathe, Evans and looks like Saville next, not one of these players as got me excited enough for me to go and get me a season ticket again, I will carry on as normal and choose my games or watch on telly or listen to Radio, until this side starts doing the business and by that I mean 3 things they Defend better, start creating chances in midfield and get strikers who can score goals and treat we to some shots at goal, then I will get my season ticket again.

9.) 14 Feb 2017 22:41:11
Got my season ticket, but agree with what you say. Us old un`s pay about £9 a game in Steve Bull. Can afford to miss now and then. As our supposed strikers do!

23 Jan 2017 14:57:12
There appears to be a wealth of talent in the youngsters who need experience in preparation for next season when an assault on promotion looks a distinct possibility. Signings at this stage would just get in the way of giving these talented youths the experience they need. A little patience and a longer term view is needed for sustained success. Weed the garden for now and enable the green shoots to come through.

wolabby

1.) 23 Jan 2017 16:15:13
Not much of a gardener myself Wolabby, think you're on the right path though. Just public training matches for the rest of the season, those who want big signings now are barking up the wrong tree.

2.) 23 Jan 2017 16:33:08
Not that I want Robbie back either as to old so why hear Rick lambert isn't he to old either

20 Jan 2017 10:16:27
Forget Marshall we don't need him. With Graham and Zyro coming back why buy another wide man except for Costa of course?

Isn't it about time David Edwards let his feet do the talking and shut his mouth. He's not even Captain so by what authority is he making these comments? Get on and do your job better you haven't anything to boast about at the moment.

wolabby

1.) 02 Nov 2016 20:20:41
The same Dave Edwards that scored Saturday you mean, and always gives 100% might be a better captain than the stupid idiot who is captain now.

2.) 02 Nov 2016 20:37:36
He couldn't do the job any worse, that's a certainty.

3.) 02 Nov 2016 21:43:59
Wolop do u watch the wolves mate u mite not here bout Edwards tht much but always gives 100% and gives these foreign players a run for there money.

4.) 02 Nov 2016 21:47:05
Fingers crossed the new boss sees that Danny boy is a problem and not a captain!

5.) 03 Nov 2016 09:27:35
If Thelwell is recruiting these players and manager then needs to get it right this time.
The Paul Gladen sighning was bad enough but they have to make the right choice this time else we will be a laughing stock.
With the so called money we supposed to have you would of thought we would of signed strikers of championship experience and sorted the defence out, but no 13 or more players signed and look were we are in table that is not good enough and it clearly shows to me that those who recruited these players should answer for our decline, hope next manager can choose is players to come in, if not it will never work.

6.) 03 Nov 2016 15:03:44
Edwards represents continuity Wolves. Been there longer than anyone, managers, board, backroom etc. Him and Ikeme anyway. As footballers go, he's got brains and I want to hear what he says even if it's the usual team played well, 100% behind the manager etc.

7.) 03 Nov 2016 19:34:15
IMO Edwards presents the average, abject, dire (decribe as you wish) football at wolves witnessed over the last decade, helped us get promoted with MM then constant injuries. Helped the double drop found his level at L1 and still lives of ave 5-6 goals a season. We should be able to do better than Forrest Gump style 'footballer' who runs a lot if we want to progress. Been there too long now. time to change.

Sherwood has done nothing but get sacked twice. Where is the experience of success in that? Pearson has the recent track record but seems to blow up under pressure so of the three I would prefer Lambert, however it just shows there aren't many good British managers any longer. That's the sad truth.

Can't see Sam and Mendes having a problem as they have a common agenda. Number one priority is lining their pockets.

That's a rather sweeping statement that Costa is the best signing that Wolves have ever made. I expect you would dismiss as irrelevant the likes of Dave Wagstaffe, Ernie Hunt, Derek Dougan, Mike Bailey, Derek Parkin, Andy Gray, Steve Bull and a number more I can name.

Fosun are long term investors who see huge value in promoting the Wolf brand in China. O.K. it hasn't happened instantly but it didn't with Chelsea or Man City etc. It will be given time so keep the faith.

You don't trial a man for a loan spell in the first team, it's an invitation to drop points. He's either good enough to play and stay or he's not.

I don't see why WW should sign any players this transfer window. We are not going to be promoted or relegated this season. The summer can be used to build a promotion challenge and give the youngsters a chance to mature.

It appears there is half a team of quality, youthful talent rather like the golden generation of Man Utd. Get the points to be safe this time around, get the youngsters in and give them development experience and assess where additional experience is needed for a promotion push.
